"Every Once in a While, someone comes along who is so inspiring that even the most discouraged pick themselves up and try again. Terry McBride is such a person." ~ Ari Cowen, The One Foundation We first encountered Terry's story in the book E2 by Pam Grout, Ep117 of this podcast. When Terry McBride was 23, he suffered a back injury that resulted in fusion surgery and a life-threatening infection. Dozens of increasingly radical surgeries later, he decided he would not accept that he would never be whole. Terry's book, The Hell I Can't, is his story of trauma, healing, and ultimately, hope. Today Terry is an inspirational speaker and teacher. He has the unique ability to deliver complex ideas and simple truths in a way that allows anyone to build their own successful model for maximizing achievement. He is one of the most sought after speakers in the personal development movement because he lives his message. When people experience Terry, through his seminars or his writings, they are inspired and reminded of the Truth of their own existence. From that Truth, they move to improve the quality of their life with an authority that allows them to make their dreams come true. Today Terry apparently looks like a 1970's porn star. We also have well known thieves in our neighborhood. The Couples Improv Classes are shaping up. Terry apologizes to Shari while fishing for the same in return. Terry has a weird theory about getting a yearly physical. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Today Terry and I are going to discuss something that our world has certainly been facing: FEAR. Of the 5 basic emotions: happy, mad, sad, hurt and scared, I think it’s safe to say that fear is one of the hardest for us all to process and deal with. I know it certainly has been a tough emotion for me to navigate growing up in a home where fear was present, but never openly discussed. I was not given the tools to deal properly with fear and I’m sure many of you are in the same spot I was. I want to encourage you, families … that we have the opportunity to do it different with our kids as we raise the next generation of human souls. Fear is not the enemy. Fear is our friend! Show Notes Today is a fun show because we have back our good friend, Terry Hershey. As many listeners know, Terry is the author of 17 books, acclaimed public speaker, teacher, and, what I like to call, minister of grace and human dignity. Today Terry and I will attempt to tackle a most sensitive question: That is, how can detachment provide emotional sanity in an otherwise insane world? At first glimpse it would seem that to detach from your emotions might lead to a sort of callous and calculated mind, devoid of any compassion or empathy. And in truth, if not managed well, detachment could indeed foster such problematic thinking. Still, I remain a strong advocate of healthy detachments. But those are the troubled waters Terry and I have chosen to swim today. Visit Terry at www.terryhershey.com . For more with Charlie Hedges please visit www.thenextchapter.life

"Cognitive decline is both a global health crisis and a personal challenge for me." In this episode, host Jana Short speaks with Terry Moore, husband, entrepreneur, and a person with a lifelong passion for science. They discuss: HomeoLux Why Gamma Light works for mental acuity The current situation in the world Want to know more about Terry Moore? In 2016 Terry’s wife was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. As a husband, an entrepreneur, and a person with a lifelong passion for science, he began searching for a solution. Finding no cure in sight and discouraged that no new drug has been approved by the FDA since 2003, Terry turned to scientific studies. His singular impetus was the question: What can I do to help? With pressing determination he uncovered research and testing from MIT that led him to understand hope could be found in the positive impact of Gamma light treatment. Terry could not wait. He built a prototype based on the MIT study designed to help rejuvenate brain health and improve mental acuity, memory and attention. Terry and his network of caregivers began to use it immediately at home. Soon, his wife’s doctors noticed the positive impact on her mental acuity and asked him, “Where can we get more of these?” The positive effects combined with their demand inspired him. Today Terry has taken the research and created HomeoLux, a health and technology company that designs wellness products based on cutting-edge scientific research. His showcase product, BEACON40, is designed for home and office use. It is a noninvasive light system for brain health for families like his who need hope now.

News Impressions Expo Long Beach Recap - Tune In! Employee Engagement 101 Today Terry and I are going to be talking Employee Engagement 101. And since Terry has more experience dealing with a production floor full of employees, I'll be asking the questions.Let's start with this. What's the #1 most important thing an owner or manager should focus on when it comes to dealing with your employees.Communication - ExpectationsTalk about your business, goals, aspirationsWho knows more about making things better in your business than the people doing the work day to day?Pizza! OK, I've talked about buying pizza a lot. Do Jimmy Johns instead.Do you have any specific examples of poor communication?“Yeah, I'm gonna need you to fire that guy.”I think we all hear owners and managers complaining about their employees. What's you take on this?Nearly every employee wants to come to work and do a good jobIf you complain about your employees attitudes, work ethic, quality of work… look in the mirrorIf you end every bit of praise for a job well done with the work “but”, you're a micromanager. The personality of your business, the attitude of your employees, the way customers see your business is a reflection of you as an owner or managerLet's talk motivationFocus on success, not failureSmall rewards can be the greatest rewardsHow about that one employee that you see in the break room and you just keep walking through the other door like you were going someplace else?Is one employee a black cloud?According to state or province law wherever you run your business, a crappy attitude is not a protected classWe can't do this without talking training - SKIP?1st of all, you have no secrets, so get over yourself52/15Tell us one thing an owner or manager can do to change their work environment and level of stressIf you can't leave your business for a little vacation, or for lunch, that's on you, not your employees. It all starts with trust and the willingness to allow employees to make mistakes.“What would you do to resolve this problem?” Facebook Live Video Other Events Aaron's Online Video Series "Small Business Saturdays" #SBSVideos Every SaturdayCheck out the Podcast version at SmallBusinessSaturdaysPodcast.comOurSuccessGroup.Com - Next Level Business TrainingDemystifying Next Level Digitizing webinar March 28th, 2020Complete Screen Printing Business CourseAtlas Screen Supply in Nashville, February 15-16WorkHorse Phoenix February 29-March 1Scheduling & Estimating Production Time Video Series - April 1, 2020Your Style Guide eBook by Jay Busselle

We are here to telling stories about what Post Concussion Syndrome (PCS) has meant to us and our guests. The conversations are around the trails, the challenges, the outcomes, and the lessons learned. The conversations are real, raw and uncensored from both the survivor and caregiver perspectives.Through the podcast we aim to:Help to others going through Post Concussion Syndrome and develop community through our stories and those of our guests.Provide a greater sense of awareness with the "Invisible Injury". Living through this has clearly indicated that American society has very little understanding.Get help ourselves! We hope to learn by doing this and hopefully it will lead to further understanding.Today Terry and I get to speak with Police Officer Kim Geyer and her wife Linda. They have offered to tell their story to aid in creating awareness around the invisible injury. Officer Geyer has had to recover from concussions 9 times prior to the one she is working through now. The most recent one is 4 months in at the time of this recording.Being a police officer is unique in terms that her profession can increases risk for concussion.Kim was injured the last time around on duty through a violent act. We get to hear her story and just as importantly gain some perspective from Kim's spouse on what it is like for her to be a caregiver during this trying time? We're excited to explore the caregiver part of the story again outside of the "make sure you take care of yourself so you don't burn out" conversations. As it has been for us, Kim and Linda had to go through the uncomfortable experiences of changing and shifting multiple times due to the injuries. It is admirable that the two of them have fought through this as they have and continue to work at being positive and inspirations for others. We really hope you enjoy this intriguing conversation. Please note that Terry and Drew are not medical professionals nor should their perspectives be taken as medical advice.Join us each week for the conversation!Check us out at abattlewithin.com and on Facebook at A Battle Within.Show Notes and Resources are here.If you are interested telling us your story for an upcoming episode- reach out at abattlewithin.com/contact or via Facebook. Last week we learned that Jesus, as a human, was anointed with the HOLY SPIRIT. We discovered that after Jesus left this Earth, He gave the GIFT of the HOLY SPIRIT to us. As followers of Jesus we cannot live our lives as overcomers without the Holy Spirit’s fullness. Today Pastor Terry will answer the question, how can we keep the anointing flowing? In the old testament in the book of 1st Kings chapter 17 verses 10-14, Elijah came upon a widow gathering sticks and asked her for a cup of water and bread. The widow told Elijah that she only had enough oil and flour to cook her last meal for her and her son. Elijah, being anointed of God told the widow not to be afraid and cook some bread for him first and then what was left over prepare a meal for her and her son. What happened next changed the life of the widow forever. Today Terry will share 5 important bits of information we can take away from this story, and how we can test all of God’s promises throughout this year. Prep

Around the 1st of each year we here at Faith Outreach Center hold what we call our “Anointing Service”, but what really does this mean? The word anointing has several meanings: Ancient shepherds poured oil on the sheep’s head making it impossible for insects to get near the sheep’s ears. This, anointing became symbolisms of blessings, protection, and empowerment. Objects were anointed in the tabernacle just as God had commanded. Jesus was chosen to be our messiah, which literally means anointed one. He was to be CHOSEN, ANOINTED, CONSECRATED, and EMPOWERED all through the anointing of the Holy Spirit. Today Terry wants to remind us of God’s anointing upon each Christian so that we may be supernaturally equipped to accomplish God’s calling in our lives. God Bless and prepare your hearts for this VERY special sermon.

Through out the Bible we love to read how Jesus assured his true believers of His many wonderful promises, but Jesus also promised His followers that there would also be some very hard times. There is much suffering in the world today, but as God’s dearly loved children we can have a different perspective when we encounter difficult times. Today Terry will guide us through how we can deal with the adversities of life in a sermon he has called, “A Different Perspective in Persecution”, part of the current series we are now in entitled - “Different”.

In John chapter 8 verse 44, Jesus says this about satan: “… He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks what it natural to him, for he is a liar and the father of lies and half-truths.” The devil’s tactics are clear, he wants to inject thoughts into your mind, that you think are your own, so that you are not afraid of those thoughts. Pastor Terry continues in our current sermon series, “Powerful Armor of God”. Today Terry will show us how we can combat the devil’s lies by resisting the devil and submitting to God’s truths with today’s sermon entitled, “The Belt of Truth”.
