Narcissism, Cult Recovery, Spiritual Awakening, and DiscernmentMark Vicente is an author, speaker, and award-winning Writer/Director/Producer from Johannesburg, South Africa. Taking his first photograph at age four, he worked his way up through the ranks of the camera department, shooting a number of anti-apartheid films in the 1980s before relocating to Hollywood.Because of the atrocities in his native South Africa, he found himself propelled to question fundamental assumptions at a young age: beliefs about human behavior, morality, cosmology, existentialism and mysticism. Unifying his love of science, philosophy and filmmaking, his dream of creating cinema to inspire and provoke thought emerged with the creation of “What the BLEEP Do We Know?!” Later, deeply moved by the violence consuming Mexico, Mark released “Encender el Corazon,” a film about the kidnapping epidemic there and one community's courage in standing up to the cartels. It was a bittersweet victory. While the film touched many people deeply, it was by association supporting the criminal enterprise NXIVM. Mark made the difficult decision to pull the film from distribution and, with a small band of whistleblowers, exposed NXIVM's criminal behavior, resulting in multiple arrests and prosecutions. This journey is captured in the HBO Documentary Series “The Vow.”He has since developed a passionate interest in exposing the coercive, duplicitous environments of high-control groups. His feature documentary “Narcissists' Playbook,” examining malignant narcissism through self-confessed, self-aware narcissists, juxtaposed with testimony from victims, survivors, scientists, and mental health professionals, has now been released. He is also developing “Inst@Guru,” a series examining the rise of predatory self-help culture in the social media age, centered on Dutch social media guru Bentinho Massaro.Websites:markvicente.comNarcissist's PlaybookBonnie Piesse is an Australian/American actress, singer-songwriter and soul alignment and manifestation coach. She's best known for her roles in Star Wars: Attack of the Clones, Revenge of the Sith, and Obi-Wan Kenobi, and was recently seen in My Favorite Girlfriend alongside Tyler Johnson and Michael Nouri. As a singer-songwriter, her music has been featured in film and TV including Miss Arizona, HBO's The Vow (in which she was also a subject), and CW's Life Unexpected. Through her business, Your Quantum Life, Bonnie helps soul-led leaders remember who they really are and step into authentic expression and embodiment.Website: bonniepiesse.com

We all start our careers as doers, or individual contributors. This means we make the widgets; we do the grunt work; we execute the strategy of management. Then, at one point, we may get very good at being a doer and are tapped for management. The issue is that there is no class for leadership. So many people that move from doer default into manager. And as you may have seen in the memes online, there is a distinct difference between a manager and a leader. Here are some differences:A manager is more concerned with:Output over peopleStays focused on the task at hand and less on managing to the total personDoesn't have the full respect or trust of their teamsHolds back or is unwilling to be authentic or vulnerableOn the contrary, a leader is more concerned with:People firstLegacyBeing authentic and vulnerableDuring today's conversation, Femi and I chatted about:The chase for output, and how great leaders design conditions for great work. The promotion gap and how no one teaches us how to move from doer to leader.Advice on someone who is primed for a promotion. How we can be powerful leaders during the explosion of AI.What the most important characteristics are for leaders today. If you are a doer or a manager and want to transition more fully to leader, this show is for you. Here is more about Femi:Femi is EVP, Executive Creative Director at Rescue, The Behavior Change Agency. How Did One Nurse Survive Richard Speck by Hiding Under a Bed for Six Hours?

Richard Speck killed eight student nurses in a Chicago townhouse on July 13, 1966. He strangled five and stabbed three over the course of five hours. He used nautical knots from his time on Great Lakes cargo boats to bind them with bedsheets. And he lost count. Nine women were in that house. He killed eight. The ninth — Corazon Amurao, a twenty-three-year-old exchange nurse from the Philippines — rolled under a bunk bed and did not move for six hours. What made it possible wasn't luck. It was discipline. The ability to override every survival instinct screaming at you to run and instead become invisible. Corazon controlled her breathing, her heartbeat, her presence in a room full of death. And when it was over, she climbed onto a window ledge and screamed until someone heard her.Surviving Serial Killers tells the story of the woman under the bed — what she heard, what she saw when she came out, what she said in court, and the six decades of silence that followed.Join Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/ Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? She testified in one of the most significant criminal trials in American history. She pointed at Richard Speck and said "This is the man." Then Corazon Amurao went home to the Philippines, married, had children, and turned down every interview, every book deal, and every media request for the rest of her life.On the night of July 13, 1966, Speck entered a Chicago townhouse and killed eight student nurses over five hours. Corazon survived by rolling under a bed and staying motionless until morning. She is reportedly alive, in her eighties, still private. This episode of Surviving Serial Killers starts with the women — their names, their plans, the weddings they were scheduling and the careers they were starting — before it tells you what happened to them. Because the world remembers Richard Speck. Corazon made sure the world would never forget her silence.Join Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/ Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? Theresa Corazon, TV producer turned entrepreneur, was at the peak of her career when everything changed. She woke up days after Easter Sunday with frontal lobe brain trauma, eight broken ribs, a hand that nearly required amputation, and no memory of what had happened. She would spend eight months across five hospitals. Christmas, New Year's, and her birthday, alone, during COVID, with a rosary in her hand and her mother on the phone every single night. Rebuilding everything for the next 5 years: the ability to walk,  talk, read, and even breathe without complication. In this episode, Kelly sits down with Theresa for one of the most powerful, raw, and faith-filled conversations where she and Theresa dig deep into the anger, the depression, the dark night of the soul, the surrender, and the framework she built from the rubble of her recovery to help others find their way back when everything has been stripped away. This episode is not about business strategy. It is about what holds you when strategy is not enough. It is about faith, resilience, and what becomes possible when you stop asking why and start asking how you can be used. Tonight on The Redacted Report, we reopen the case file on one of America's most infamous crimes—the 1966 massacre of eight student nurses in Chicago. The world knows the headline: one survivor, one killer, Richard Speck. But the real story didn't make the newspapers, and it never made the documentaries. That story begins here.We trace Speck's path long before the murders, uncovering early psychiatric evaluations, head trauma, and behavioral red flags buried in government archives—warnings ignored until it was far too late. Records from Texas expose a trail of violence against women that mirror the Chicago killings almost exactly, cases that were dismissed or quietly dropped. Maritime logs reveal a pattern of explosive aggression at sea, ignored by a system that kept placing Speck on new ships despite repeated danger. The week before the murders—long treated as an afterthought—comes into focus as a period of planning and preparation. Witnesses reported Speck stalking nurses, drawing layouts of buildings, and meeting with unknown individuals. The crime scene itself tells a story that never reached a jury: signs of earlier tampering, restraints brought in advance, and a timeline that points to a calculated, controlled attack rather than a spontaneous frenzy.Corazon Amurao's survival—heroic and heartbreaking—contains details withheld from the public for decades. She heard Speck speaking casually with the victims. She heard another voice in the townhouse. And years later, she admitted what she'd been urged to conceal: she saw a second set of feet.Even the manhunt and arrest raise questions. Speck was seen calmly sitting outside the townhouse after the murders, visited multiple locations searching for someone, and suddenly had access to money. A forged medical bracelet appeared on his wrist. An anonymous caller with medical knowledge identified him at the hospital. Nothing about his capture fits the official version. The suppressed forensic evidence is equally troubling: multiple unidentified fingerprints, unexplained footprints, a phone call placed from inside the crime scene during the murders, and a controlled drug in Speck's system he should never have had access to.Prison tapes later caught Speck alluding to “the man with the plan,” describing the killings as “the message,” and insisting he wasn't acting alone.Patterns of similar attacks on nurses in other cities, linked locations, coordinated methods, and financial trails all point to a larger, unsettling picture—one the justice system seemed unwilling to confront. Speck may have been the hand, but the question remains: whose hand was guiding him?Richard Speck died in 1991, but the unanswered questions surrounding this case remain locked behind sealed files, suppressed reports, and the memories of those told to stay silent. Tonight, we challenge the official narrative and present the case as the evidence actually shows it.On The Redacted Report, we don't repeat the story they told you.We expose the one they didn't want you to hear.

On a sweltering July night in 1966, eight young student nurses gathered in their modest Chicago townhouse, studying, laughing, and planning for bright futures devoted to healing others. By dawn, all but one would be dead — victims of a crime so brutal and senseless that it forever changed how Americans understood violence, safety, and evil itself. In this powerful episode of The Guilty Files, we revisit one of the darkest nights in American history — the Richard Speck murders. We begin with Speck's troubled childhood in rural Illinois, tracing his transformation from an abused and neglected boy into a violent, drifting man. Through court records, psychological profiles, and witness testimony, we follow the sequence of events that led him from one bar to another that night, driven by rage, addiction, and a lifetime of trauma — until he found himself at 2319 East 100th Street. Inside that small townhouse lived eight remarkable women — future nurses united by their compassion and courage. We remember Gloria Davy, Patricia Matusek, Nina Schmale, Pamela Wilkening, Suzanne Farris, Mary Ann Jordan, Merlita Gargullo, and Valentina Pasion — honoring their dreams, their kindness, and their shared commitment to care for others. Through meticulous research and survivor testimony, we recount the investigation that gripped the nation — how a simple tattoo reading “Born to Raise Hell” led detectives to their suspect. We revisit the bravery of Corazon Amurao, the sole survivor who hid beneath a bed for hours, bearing silent witness and later testifying to bring Speck to justice. The trial that followed revealed not only the depths of one man's depravity but also the flaws and limits of the American justice system. Though sentenced to death, Speck's life would end not at the gallows but behind bars — where years later, a shocking prison video reignited public outrage and reopened the wounds of those still grieving. Beyond the crime, this episode examines its lasting impact: reforms in nursing education and hospital security, the birth of modern criminal profiling, and the cultural shift that redefined how Americans viewed personal safety and random violence. This is not a story told to glorify evil — it is a story to remember courage, humanity, and loss. The lives of these eight women remind us that even in the face of unimaginable darkness, compassion and justice endure.
