I wore a lot of pairs this week! Really trying to rock the collection more, and talk about them kicks a bit more on this podcast. I also get into when you look like a hater commenting on a shoe vs just giving a legitimate opinion/criticism. I get a little bit into different Transformers TV series as well. Thanks as always for listening AFS Squad! The next few months of this podcast are going to be challenging for your hosts, as they plunge headfirst in what is widely regarded as the worst Transformers TV show that wasn't on machinima.com. A dreadful dub, deeply annoying characters, hideous animation, and nonsense plotting are conspiring to drive us mad. Will they succeed? Well considering this is only the first episode of Transformers Energon and we're already losing our minds by the end of this podcast, things don't bode well. #NotMyIronhide #TheJerkerrrr Noise Space | Discord
More than meets the eye! And the eye suffers from the constant barrage of flashing lights and bad music, as we cover The Transformers: The Movie. It was The Transformers TV show, but on the big screen! It had rock and roll music! The Transformers swore! The Transformers died! It all added up to a lot of boring nonsense. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/thegenxfiles/support
On Part 2 of the Retroist Podcast's ongoing series on The Transformers, I continue our walk down memory lane by covering the iconic 80s cartoon, from its rushed beginnings to its longer term cultural impact.
Paul Davids' career in film and television took off when he got his "first break" as production coordinator of the original "TRANSFORMERS" TV show for Marvel Productions in 1985. His name appears on about 80 episodes, and he also wrote many of them. This popular series, based on the Hasbro toys, spawned the recent smash hit feature film, "THE TRANSFORMERS," from Steven Spielberg and Michael Bay. Before he began producing and directing his own films, Paul spent a couple years co-writing six STAR WARS sequel novels (with Hollace Davids) for Lucasfilm and Bantam books, including the award-winning MISSION FROM MOUNT YODA plus THE GLOVE OF DARTH VADER, THE LOST CITY OF THE JEDI, ZORBA THE HUTT'S REVENGE, QUEEN OF THE EMPIRE and PROPHETS OF THE DARK SIDE. The books sold millions of copies and were published in many languages. Paul Davids' films are known for controversy, beginning with "ROSWELL" (starring Martin Sheen, Kyle MacLachlan & Dwight Yoakam), a 1994 nominee for Golden Globe as Best TV Motion Picture, which he executive produced and co-wrote as a Showtime original movie. It dealt with issues of extraterrestrial life and the purported "truth embargo" on the subject of ET contact. - www.jesusinindiathemovie.com Now listen to all our XZBN shows, with our compliments go to: https://www.spreaker.com/user/xzoneradiotv or www.xzoneuniverse.com *** AND NOW ***The ‘X' Zone TV Channel on SimulTV - www.simultv.comThe ‘X' Zone TV Channel Radio Feed (Free - No Subscription Required) - https://www.spreaker.com/show/xztv-the-x-zone-tv-show-audio The ‘X' Chronicles Newspaper - www.xchroniclesnewspaper.com (Free)To contact Rob McConnell - misterx@xzoneradiotv.com

Episode 291 of the Seibertron.com Twincast Podcast looks back at 2021 and ahead to 2022. The retrospective begins with opinions on the objective best Transformer of the year before a small tilt occurs for the next topic where the cast provides their subjective favorites. Transformers TV and comic book releases are looked at next, with Cyberverse on the minds of the cast when thinking about the best media of the year. After a tongue-in-cheek look at the year's "Most 2020 Moment", the best-of segments are put on pause as the talk moves into scolding the worst toys and general developments for Transformers during the past year. Positive reflections return with a look at personal collecting achivements that occurred in the past twelve months. Predictions follow with both easy calls and less likely, wishful thinking predictions for what could be in store for Transformers in 2022. The recurring Bragging Rights segment closes another episode and another year of the show as usual.

Episode 256 of the Seibertron.com Twincast / Podcast is all about the just released Transformers TV series War for Cybertron Chapter One: Siege, which is available to stream now exclusively on Netflix. The cast members provide their thoughts on the overall plot and its similarities to other Transformers fiction released over the past decade. The various supporting plots such as those involving Ultra Magnus, Bumblebee, Jetfire, Shockwave and others are also looked at, along with how they contribute to the acceleration in action and character development as the series progresses throught its six episodes. Extensive time is then spent on additional characters and their voice performances, with some like Starscream and Jetfire impressing while others such as franchise stalwarts Optimus Prime and Megatron left the cast feeling less than enthused. Other feedback is provided on production aspects of the show such as the quality of the animation, sound, score, other visual effects and even camera tricks used to add more transformation sequences into the story. The discussion of this latest TV series concludes with wishful thinking and speculation about the next chapter in the War for Cybertron trilogy, presumably knows as Earthrise given the toy line in stores now. After fielding a listener question about desires for the Generations Selects toy line-up, the show concludes with the recurring Bragging Rights segment where cast members boast about their latest Transformers toy and product acquisitions.

Please join us as we talk to Paul Davids, co-author of Blowing America's Mind..Blowing America’s MindA True Story of Princeton, CIA Mind Control, LSD and Zenby John Selby and Paul Jeffrey DavidsYELLOW HAT PUBLISHING — JANUARY 2, 2018An Insider Exposé: College Kids are Guinea Pigs in CIA’s Mind-Control ExperimentsIn the 1950s, the CIA had a macabre fascination with hypnosis and psychedelic drugs, and they unleashed programs to make use of them for military purposes. They lavished funds on a highly‐classified mind‐control project (which they named MK‐ULTRA) with the intent of bending the minds of enemies, foreign and domestic, and of erasing memories of secrets known to their own retired agents. As MK‐ULTRA grew into the 1960’s, their list of targets expanded to include college students – especially anti‐Vietnam‐War activists.John Selby and Paul Jeffrey Davids, the authors of Blowing America’sMind: A True Story of Princeton, CIA Mind Control, LSD and Zen, were among Princeton University students in the late 1960’s who got tangled up in these secret experiments at the nearby New Jersey Neuro‐Psychiatric Institute’s Bureau of Research. Recruited and paid to experience multiple deep-hypnosis sessions (mingled with micro‐doses of LSD), Selby, Davids and students from other campuses, such as Columbia and Harvard, believed what they were told: that regular monitored experiences of this type would introduce them to a kind of ‘super‐consciousness,’ spiritual enlightenment, and even better sex. Engaged in some of the very first psychedelic research, led by famous ‘psychedelic pioneers’ such as psychiatrist Dr. Humphry Osmond, Selby and Davids got some of the positive pay‐off, but nearly lost their identities – and their minds – in the process. This true story documents their experiences as guinea pigs in secret CIA mind‐control deep hypnosis research, and it reads like scenes in a movie – intrigue and conflict at then all‐male Princeton University, dreamy and euphoric journeys to other worlds, hormone‐and‐drug‐ induced fun and frolic, sky‐rocketing escapes from Vietnam‐era reality, and drastic changes in their states of mind and behavior. Set at Princeton, and awash in mind manipulation and near mental disintegration, as well as a being a love story, it is in some ways a cousin to A Beautiful Mind.Selby and Davids began trying to document their experiences a few years after graduating but realized that the confessions and self‐exposure involved – the raw reality of it all – was more than they were prepared to reveal at that time. They retained their avid interest in altered consciousness, but left their story untold – until now.“Blowing America’s Mind is a fascinating journey of love, drugs and covert governmental intrigue. Suspenseful in documenting the impact of the ‘Psychedelic Revolution’ at Princeton in the late 1960’s, the book is a complex, poignant drama detailing CIA-sponsored hypnosis and LSD research, as the famous all-male Ivy League university is on the eve of going coed and on the edge of imploding.”— Jeremy Kagan, Professor, School of Cinematic Arts, USC, and Chairperson of Special Projects for the Directors Guild of AmericaAbout the AuthorsPaul Jeffrey Davids is the co‐author of six “Star Wars” books for Lucasfilm. He was production coordinator and a writer of the original animated “Transformers” TV series; executive producer of Showtime’s “Roswell: The UFO Cover‐up,” starring Kyle MacLachlan and Martin Sheen, and he has produced and directed ten feature films, including “The Sci‐Fi Boys” and “The Life After Death Project,” both of which aired on SyFy, and “Jesus in India” and the bio‐pic, “Timothy Leary’s Dead.” As an undergraduate at Princeton, he won three top writing awards, then studied under full scholarship at the American Film Institute Center for Advanced Film Studies in Los Angeles. A month away from the mic has not stopped our flow of guests, as Chris's brother Tyrone Selby joins us for a Unicron-sized discussion (Sorry not sorry) of the various TV incarnations of the Transformers franchise, though John's current obsession means that we spend time singing the praises of Injustice 2 first, including observations on Harley Quinn and her Tara Strong-ified face, along with a little more Breath of the Wild talk. Once we tackle our main topic, we attempt to discuss every major series from Beast Wars onwards (Don't blame us for skipping G1, we were born too late), taking the time to praise two particular series, shrug over several others, and marvel at the mind-boggling ineptitude of one in particular. Expect discussion on weird fan Wikis, Decepti-nipples, moms who love Optimus, and surprise Ernie Hudsons. This is one of those times I go off-topic. Trucking does rear its butt-ugly head, but not very often. Today I get to tell you why The Evil Overlord and I rarely feel the need to say the words "I love you." And if you're cool, you might want to see a picture of my awesome Transformers TV tray.
