There's another aspect of the Rāmāyaṇa that always touches me very deeply, and it's a story that's told again and again about Rāvaṇa's brother. Rāvaṇa, of course, was the archetypal demoniac king who wanted to enjoy the whole world—the opposite of what we're talking about. Rāma gave up silk to wear tree bark; Rāvaṇa, he wanted everything in the world for himself and couldn't help himself. One of his family members, his brother, Vibhīṣaṇa, tried to dissuade Rāvaṇa from his suicide course, stealing Sītā and holding her there in his kingdom. And when Rāma came with his armies, Vibhīṣaṇa, after having a very severe fight—argument with his brother about his wrong-headed ways—came to surrender to Rāma. At that time, he told Rāma, "I want to join you. I was born into this family, I tried to take Rāvaṇa on the right course; it wasn't possible. So now I'm submitting myself to you." Some, as we've heard from the Rāmāyaṇa, were suspect, because during wartime, there is a sense of mistrust of the other side. It's the first conclusion people often come to: they're trying to harm us in some way. It's no trust. But Rāma, being the Supreme Personality of Godhead, had observed the countenance of Vibhīṣaṇa, as did one of his great devotees, Hanumān, whom Rāma consulted. But Rāma was responsible then for accepting him or not accepting him. He uttered a verse which you can keep in your pocket, and you can pull out any time you feel like you need a boost in life, in which He said that if one time somebody says, "I'm surrendering to you, I take you as my shelter." If someone says it one time, He says, 'sakṛd eva prapanno yas, tavāsmīti ca yācate—one time somebody says to Me,' "I accept you as the supreme, and you're my shelter." He said, "dadāmy etad vrataṁ mama—that I make a vow for that person', to that person—'abhayam'—'that from that time forward, you'll be without fear, you'll be without burden, and always, I make the vow that I will protect you and I will always be there, one time if you say it." You want to say it? Go ahead, say it. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #rama #ramayan #surrender #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose
The night has come to an end and the light of dawn is entering. O jiva soul, arise and give up your sleep. Chapter 13: Kṣhetra Kṣhetrajña Vibhāg Yog Verses 1-5. Kṣhetra Kṣhetrajña
Bṛhad-bhāgavatāmṛta Part 1 Chapter 4 Texts 100-104 athāpi sahajāvyāja- karuṇā-komalātmani avakra-bhāva-prakṛtāv ārya-dharma-pradarśake eka-patnī-vrata-dhare sadā vinaya-vṛddhayā lajjayāvanata-śrīmad- vadane 'dho-vilokane jagad-rañjana-śīlāḍhye 'yodhyā-pura-purandare mahā-rājādhirāje śrī- sītā-lakṣmaṇa-sevite bharata-jyāyasi preṣṭha- sugrīve vānareśvare vibhīṣaṇāśrite cāpa- pāṇau daśarathātmaje kauśalyā-nandane śrīmad- raghunātha-svarūpiṇi svasminn ātyantikī prītir mama tenaiva vardhitā TRANSLATION Even so, I simply feel more attracted to the Supreme Lord in His eternal identity as Śrī Raghunātha, the son of Daśaratha and joy of Mother Kauśalyā. His heart always tender with natural, unaffected compassion, He is spontaneously attracted to loving exchanges with His devotees, exchanges free from any tinge of duplicity. He demonstrates how to follow properly the religious duties of a civilized people, and He upholds the strict vow of having only one wife. In the shyness of innate humility, His face always looks downward, His eyes fixed on the ground. His exalted character is pleasing to all. He stands with bow in hand, the king of kings, the hero of the city Ayodhyā, served by Sītā and Lakṣmaṇa, and with Bharata as His older brother. He rules the race of monkeys as the dear friend of Sugrīva and gives shelter to Vibhīṣaṇa. By my hearing of the pastimes of Kṛṣṇa, the unlimited loving attraction I feel toward my own master has increased.

Join Secrets of Success on Telegram: https://t.me/rasajnadas Join LIVE session on SAVAJI ONLINE YouTube Channel every Sunday at 11am (IST) This verse explains how the Lord is all-pervasive by His diverse material and spiritual energies. The Supreme Lord can be preliminarily perceived by His different energies, and in this way He is realized impersonally. As the demigod in the sun is a person and is perceived by his all-pervading energy, the sunshine, so the Lord, although in His eternal abode, is perceived by His all-pervading diffusive energies. The taste of water is the active principle of water. No one likes to drink sea water, because the pure taste of water is mixed with salt. Attraction for water depends on the purity of the taste, and this pure taste is one of the energies of the Lord. The impersonalist perceives the presence of the Lord in water by its taste, and the personalist also glorifies the Lord for His kindly supplying tasty water to quench man's thirst. That is the way of perceiving the Supreme. Practically speaking, there is no conflict between personalism and impersonalism. One who knows God knows that the impersonal conception and personal conception are simultaneously present in everything and that there is no contradiction. Therefore Lord Caitanya established His sublime doctrine: acintya bheda- and abheda-tattva – simultaneous oneness and difference. The light of the sun and the moon is also originally emanating from the brahma-jyotir, which is the impersonal effulgence of the Lord. And praṇava, or the oṁ-kāra transcendental sound in the beginning of every Vedic hymn, addresses the Supreme Lord. Because the impersonalists are very much afraid of addressing the Supreme Lord Kṛṣṇa by His innumerable names, they prefer to vibrate the transcendental sound oṁ-kāra. But they do not realize that oṁ-kāra is the sound representation of Kṛṣṇa. The jurisdiction of Kṛṣṇa consciousness extends everywhere, and one who knows Kṛṣṇa consciousness is blessed. Those who do not know Kṛṣṇa are in illusion, and so knowledge of Kṛṣṇa is liberation, and ignorance of Him is bondage. Puṇya means that which is not decomposed; puṇya is original. Everything in the material world has a certain flavor or fragrance, as the flavor and fragrance in a flower, or in the earth, in water, in fire, in air, etc. The uncontaminated flavor, the original flavor, which permeates everything, is Kṛṣṇa. Similarly, everything has a particular original taste, and this taste can be changed by the mixture of chemicals. So everything original has some smell, some fragrance and some taste. Vibhāvasu means fire. Without fire we cannot run factories, we cannot cook, etc., and that fire is Kṛṣṇa. The heat in the fire is Kṛṣṇa. According to Vedic medicine, indigestion is due to a low temperature in the belly. So even for digestion fire is needed. In Kṛṣṇa consciousness we become aware that earth, water, fire, air and every active principle, all chemicals and all material elements are due to Kṛṣṇa. The duration of man's life is also due to Kṛṣṇa. Therefore by the grace of Kṛṣṇa, man can prolong his life or diminish it. So Kṛṣṇa consciousness is active in every sphere.

0085 BG Summary Ch. 13 Nature, Enjoyer, & Consciousness अध्याय 13-प्रकृति, पुरुष तथा चेतना का सार Chapter 13: Kṣhetra Kṣhetrajña Vibhāg Yog Yog through Distinguishing the Field and the Knower of the Field Based on its content, the eighteen chapters of the Bhagavad Gita can be divided into three sections. The first six chapters describe Karm Yog or the path of duty. The second set, from chapters seven to twelve, glorify the path of bhakti or loving devotion of God. They also describe the opulence of God as the divine nectar that nourishes devotion. The third set, starting from this chapter, expounds upon tattva jñāna or the of knowledge scriptural terms and principles. In this chapter, Shree Krishna introduces two terms—kṣhetra (the field) and kṣhetrajña (knower of the field). In simple terms, the ‘field' may be considered the body and the soul as the ‘knower of the field.' However, the field is actually much more than just the physical body—it includes the mind, intellect, ego, and all other components of material energy that are part of our personality. In broader terms, except for the soul, who is the ‘knower of the field,' all material aspects of our entire personality are considered—the ‘field' of the body. When a farmer sows' paddy in his field, he can only harvest paddy and not wheat or maize from that field. Similarly, the good or bad thoughts and actions that we sow in our field, that is our body, we harvest the resultant destiny. The Buddha taught: “All that we are is the result of what we have thought; it is founded on our thoughts, and it is made of our thoughts.” Thus, as we think, that is what we become. The great American philosopher Ralph Waldo Emerson said: “The ancestor of every action is a thought.” Therefore, it is necessary to cultivate appropriate thoughts and actions in the field of our body. For this, we should be able to differentiate between kṣhetra, the field, and kṣhetrajña, the knower of the field. Shree Krishna gives a detailed analysis of these two aspects of human existence. He starts by enumerating the material elements that encompass kṣhetra, the field of the human body. He calls the feelings, sentiments, emotions, etc., that arise in this field (body) as modifications, and the virtues and pious good qualities purify the field and illuminate it with knowledge. This knowledge helps us realize and understand the existence of our soul, which is the kṣhetrajña or the knower of the field. Shree Krishna then starts describing God, the supreme knower of the fields of all living creatures. He says that the Supreme Lord possesses opposite attributes at the same time, which seem contradictory. Understand that God is all-pervading in His creation, yet, He sits in the heart of every living being. Thus, He is the Supreme Soul. After describing the Supreme Soul, the soul, and the material nature of the living beings, Shree Krishna explains which of these is responsible for their actions. Also, who is responsible for the cause and effect in the universe at large. Those who understand these differences and identify the correct causes of actions; are the ones who see the ultimate truth; and are situated in knowledge. They do not degrade themselves by the illusions of their minds and perceive the presence of the Supreme Soul in every living being. In the same material nature, they are able to identify a variety of living beings and look at all existence pervaded by a common spiritual substratum. With this knowledge, they attain consciousness of the Brahman or God-realization. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/spiritual-gupshup/message

0063 -BG - अध्याय दस का सार || Summary of Ch 10 Chapter 10: Vibhūti Yog Yog through Appreciating the Infinite Opulences of God The previous chapter revealed the science of bhakti or loving devotion of God. In this chapter, Shree Krishna desires to increase Arjun's bhakti by describing His infinite glories and opulence. The verses are not only pleasing to read but also enchanting to hear. He helps Arjun to meditate on God by reflecting upon His magnificence. Lord Krishna reveals that He is the source of all that exists. It is from His mind, the seven great sages, the four great saints, and the fourteen Manus were born. All the people of this world then descended from them. The various exceptional qualities in humans also arise from Him. Those devotees who know this engage in His devotion with great faith. They derive immense satisfaction by conversing about His glories and also help enlightening others about them. God dwells in the hearts of such devotees whose mind is always united in Him. He then bestows upon them His divine knowledge, through which they can attain God-realization. Arjun is now fully convinced that Shree Krishna is the Supreme Divine Personality and requests Him to describe further His divine glories, which are like divine nectar. Shree Krishna then discloses that everything that exists is a manifestation of His energies. He is the beginning, middle, and end of all. All beings and things get their splendor from Him. He is the powerhouse of magnificence and the infinite reservoir of knowledge, power, beauty, and glory. Whatever catches our imagination and infuses us with bliss is nothing but a tiny spark of His opulence. The rest of the chapter describes the personalities, objects, and activities that best display His magnificence. Shree Krishna finally says that the magnitude of His glory cannot be described in words, as within a fraction of His being, He upholds infinite universes. Since God is the source of all the splendor and glory, we must make Him the object of our devotion. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/spiritual-gupshup/message

Spiritual Gupshup - सरल भगवद् गीता - Bhagavad Gita Simplified (Hindi Podcast) !!
चतुर-श्लोकी भगवद-गीता Chapter 10: Vibhūti Yog Yog through Appreciating the Infinite Opulences of God The previous chapter revealed the science of bhakti or loving devotion of God. Bhagavad Gita 10.3 Those who know me as unborn and beginningless, and as the Supreme Lord of the universe, they among mortals are free from illusion and released from all evils. Bhagavad Gita 10.8 I am the origin of all creation. Everything proceeds from me. The wise who know this perfectly worship me with great faith and devotion. Bhagavad Gita 10.9 With their minds fixed on me and their lives surrendered to me, my devotees remain ever contented in me. They derive great satisfaction and bliss in enlightening one another about me, and conversing about my glories. Bhagavad Gita 10.10 To those whose minds are always united with me in loving devotion, I give the divine knowledge by which they can attain me. Bhagavad Gita 10.11 Out of compassion for them, I, who dwell within their hearts, destroy the darkness born of ignorance, with the luminous lamp of knowledge. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/spiritual-gupshup/message

Yoga Sūtras, Third Chapter, Vibhūti Pāda 3.49 - 3.50, Oneness, Power & Renunciation: What is the fundamental that we must cultivate regardless of how long we have been practicing, how much we have learned or how advanced we think we have become? [If you think you are advanced then definitely you are not.] Sūtra 3.50 brings up the practice of Vairāgya (non-attachment/letting-go) again - it was first mentioned at the beginning of our journey in Sūtra 1.12 and has been explained in so many ways indirectly since. Keep going, keep developing Vairāgya because it leads us to unbounded freedom (Kaivalyam). Check out the discussion on either Youtube or Podcast. Om Tat Sat. Clients can reach their goals when they work with a therapist to synthesize these two opposites. What is the “D” in DBT? The “D” means “dialectical.” A dialectic is a synthesis or integration of opposites. In DBT, dialectical strategies help both the therapist and the client get unstuck from extreme positions. In this video, learn how dialectical strategies keep the therapy in balance and help clients reach their ultimate goals as quickly as possible. What is the “B” in DBT? The “B” stands for “behavioral.” DBT requires a behavioral approach. This means that we assess the situations and target behaviors that are relevant to our clients’ goals in order to figure out how to solve the problems in their lives. Learn how DBT provides you a path to get the change that your clients so desperately need to see (BehavioralTech.org). therapyshow.com/Dialectical-Behavioral-Therapy

Yoga Sūtras, Third Chapter, Vibhūti Pāda 3.33 & 3.34: Sudden Enlightenment of King Janaki + the 10 Chakras taught by Krishnamacharya There is always more than one right way to accomplish the way. Patañjali clearly allows for alternatives. Sūtra 3.33 states that - alternatively to the methodology presented from 3.17 to 3.34 - the goal can also be reached either by gradual flashes of one’s own insights or by a not so gradual sudden awakening. King Janaki, the famous enlightened Indian king, was awakened in a sudden flash by the brilliant young sage, Aṣṭavakra. However awakening happens, ultimately, the journey of Self-realization is a journey into the heart (YS 3.34). Patañjali’s list from 3.26 - 3.34 is more or less cakra based, and so in this class, there is a presentation of the 10 cakras taught by Krishnamacharya in his book, Yoga Makaranda. Third Chapter, Vibhūti Pāda 3.23, Loving Kindness & Other Divine Meditations This sūtra instructs us to cultivate equanimity, joy, compassion & loving kindness with appropriate contemplations, studies & saṁyama meditations. The world needs these aspects of yoga now more than ever. Please enjoy this discourse as we explore these valuable meditations. This review of sūtra 1.33 reinforces the necessity of embodying these divine qualities (Brahma Vihāras). One saturated with these qualities is not disturbed. Rather one grounded in joy & equanimity emanates a reassuring pleasantness to everyone & everything around them (YS 1.33, Citta Prasādana). Such a person experiences the brilliance of life itself as if touched by Spirit (YS 1.47, Adhyātma Prasāda). The third book of the Patañjali yoga sutras, the Vibhūti Pāda, is often skipped over in modern yoga teacher trainings. Why? Its descriptions of supernatural powers — of yogis who can shrink to the size of an atom, fly, and read minds — can cause cognitive dissonance or discomfort in the modern mind. Yet right in the heart of this discussion of the extraordinary powers is an animate, rapturous vision that is concurrent with the experience of human ritual culture dating back in an unbroken line to the Paleolithic. This is, in fact, the animist chapter of the yoga sutras, which is precisely why it's ignored. Today on the podcast, we look at the rapturous vision of the Vibhūti Pāda, which arrived at a time when the old ways of trance and animal powers were butting up against new doctrines of transcendence. With source references as diverse as Italian scholar Roberto Calasso and the Wu-Tang Clan, we can safely say this is like no other commentary on the yoga sutras that you've ever heard. And if it ruffles a few scholarly feathers, so be it. Enjoy. Support the show (http://www.patreon.com/theemeraldpodcast)

We continue our Daily Mantras with the great Siddhi mantra: oṃ namaḥ śivāya. "I bow to the Auspicious One." As an invocation to Shiva (Śiva), we are able to become perfected beings as it raises our consciousness and works on our energetic body. To continue meditating with this mantra, listen to Mantrapoly's recording of this mantra on the Vibhūti album: Apple Music, Spotify, Amazon Music, Google Play, etc. Follow the Daily Mantra playlist on Spotify.
Greetings - Namaste - ॐ तत्सत् In today’s Satsaṅga episode, we honor the Indian holiday, Gaṇeśa Caturthi, which occurred last Monday, 2019 August 2. We chant the Gaṇapati Atharva Śīrṣa Upaniṣat (Vol. 3, Pg. 30) and recite a verse from the Gaṇeśa Stotra (Vol. 3, Pg. 13) and learn that the spirit of Gaṇeśa is really about how we manage our own state of balance. This is the same theme highlighted in the first chapter of the Yoga Sūtras! After chanting we quickly overview how the 4 chapters (Samādhi, Sādhana, Vibhūti & Kaivalya Pādas) of the Yoga Sūtras flow from one-to-the-next, and then dive into a quick overview translation of the first chapter (Samādhi Pāda). Understanding the over-all meaning of the Yoga Sūtras gives us the proper context for understanding each of the 195 sūtras. So last week’s (part 1) and this week’s (part 2) will hopefully prove to be interesting, valuable & useful for you. Let me know ... ॐ Tat Sat If you would like to follow along, with the chanting & lessons in these episodes, you can purchase our textbooks, Sanskrit & Chanting, through our website: ashtangayogaorangecounty.com/books or you can always just listen … either way, please enjoy! To follow the chanting from our books, it is much easier to use Vol. 3 which is simply a pure collection of Mantras without any extras. However, you can also use Vol. 1, but you will have to turn the pages many many more times. With that said, the opening mantras are found in Sanskrit & Chanting Vol. 3, Page 1 & 2, or Sanskrit & Chanting Vol. 1, Pages 2 - 10. ॐ Tat Sat
