It's always a holiday when we get to pick boyfriends. For CLE, Pottymouth has her first Noel and Patti picks a postseason star, then we find some Clemeni and some long game with the PHI. We throw some love to Jake Burger's baby, and admire how Pottymouth sweeps an outfield. Cashman backpedals on Duck Dynasty and Manfred shares some lock out thoughts with a tinge of threat. The WBC qualifiers feature a pod favorite, Yu Chang, and we learn that Andre and Steffi made a baseball player! Patti crosstrains with romance novels and wants you to read The Prospects for some trans athlete affirmation and stunningly accurate baseball details. In related coping strategies, Pottymouth recommends Chatting Practice. And we both recommend the president shuts up and dribbles. We say, “Sir, you have no jurisdiction here,” “I think he may be able to out-drink me,” and “So Kardashian-ish.” Fight the man, send your game balls to Meredith, get boosted, and find us on Bluesky @ncibpodcast, on Facebook @nocryinginbball, Instagram @nocryinginbball and on the Interweb at nocryinginbball.com. My guest on Episode 6, Ted Bahr, is in many ways to me a true inspiration on how to follow your vision and create the life of your dreams. After working in corporate America for more than a decade, then building (and selling) two start-up companies, Ted decided it was time to start a new chapter and weave his passion for music and his appreciation for art into one reality. Introducing…The Bahr Gallery, where some of the most unique, rare and beautifully framed music posters adorn the walls. Iconic psychedelic artwork from the likes of Wes Wilson, Stanley Mouse, Victor Moscoso, Rick Griffin, and Alton Kelley - aka “The Big Five” - is featured in this amazing rock n' roll sanctuary. Listen here to see how Ted made his dream come to life. Join us, and let's see where the energy takes us! Links: https://www.bahrgallery.com/ Bahr Gallery (@bahrgallery)

Bonnie Maclean's story has rather humble beginnings. She was largely a self taught artist and graphic designer. Originally from Philadelphia, she relocated to San Francisco in 1963, during a pivotal time in US history. Maclean started her career as an assistant to Bill Graham before he began working as a concert promoter for the Filmore. She would eventually take over as the in-house poster designer from Wes Wilson, who is often cited as a strong influence on MacLean's work. Her previous design experience included chalkboard announcements and evening lineups for the concert hall. Today her work for the Filmore is considered an important contribution to the psychedelic music scene of the 1960s. However, despite her contributions, the history of graphic design largely recognizes the “Big Five'' as the most important or iconic figures contributing to the music poster scene of this era. It shouldn't be surprising that the “Big Five'' doesn't include Maclean. However, her psychedelic posters for the Filmore have been collected and exhibited by museums and galleries and recognized for their impact on the music poster scene of 1960s San Francisco.TIMELINE1939 – b Philadelphia1961 – graduated from Penn State university with a degree in French1961 – Moved to New York city, took drawing classes at night at Pratt Institute where she was working1963 – Moved to San Francisco and began work with Bill Graham1967 – Married concert promoter Bill Graham1967 – Wes Wilson left the Filmore and Bonnie became the primary poster designer in his stead.1968 – gave birth to son David1975 – Divorced Bill Graham1981 – married second husband Jacques Fabert (artist)2005 – work was featured at the Tate Liverpool in a show called “The Summer of Love: Art of the Psychedelic era”2013 – Jacques Fabert dies2014 – headliner at the TRPS Festival of Rock Posters in San Francisco2015 – designs commemorative poster for Hall & Oates to mark the grand opening of the Philadelphia Fillmore 2020 – died in PennsylvaniaREFERENCESAnkeny, J. Faculty in adapted physical education and adapted physical activity take over the collaborative in October. In this session, a panel of APE researchers from various career stages introduced and discussed issues related to inclusion and PE, with a special emphasis on students who have disabilities while also belonging to other underrepresented groups. Exploring the intersectionality of membership in this diverse array of identities, we hoped to generate dialogue about the subjective experiences of students in PE and whether those experiences are truly inclusive. The panelists approached this discussion through a social justice lens. Throughout the session, we encouraged questions and commentary from members of the collaborative. Dr. Wes Wilson posed the following topics: What it means for students with disabilities to 'feel included' in PE How embodied knowledge (actions, feelings, and lived experiences) in more than one identity group may influence students' understanding of their PE participation How inclusion can be a fulcrum of social justice in PE --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/PwRHPE/support

Here it is, the first episode.A new general gaming show on the Dead Workers Party Network. Hosted by Brent Copeland, Wes Wilson, Eric Fullerton and Spencer Williams.
I know you’re all expecting some jokey post about games addiction, but we here at Nation of Gamers take it very seriously. For example, take the plight of our very own Wes Wilson. You may notice that he’s missing from this week’s show. He’ll probably be gone for the next couple of weeks as well; it sort of depends on when the doctors release him. You see, Wes has been diagnosed with acute games addiction. He has been understandably reluctant to talk about his problem. In fact, the rest of us in the DWP had no idea there was a problem at all. In fact, we had no idea he even played the game he has become addicted to.The game in question is Star Trek Voyager: Elite Force. Not even Elite Force 2… just Elite Force. Here’s a picture of Elite Force, just so you know what I’m talking about.Weird, right? I don’t even think Wes likes Star Trek that much. And let’s face it; even Star Trek fans hate Voyager. Well, except for Seven of Nine. But I’m getting off track. When asked about his addiction, all Wes can do is shout “I’M CUCKOO FOR STAR TREK VOYAGER: ELITE FORCE!” over and over and over again. It’s really annoying, and that’s the main reason we didn’t want him on the show this week. I know the show is pretty bad already, but that would make it so much worse.Anyway, please keep Wes in your thoughts and prayers over the next couple of weeks. Also, the post image is totally not a bad ‘shop, but is an actual picture of Wes taken in the sanitarium. This week we talk almost exclusively about games addiction. Spencer and Brent really got into it over this. Seriously, Eric threatened to spray them both down with the hose so they’d stop fighting. Enjoy!
