Settling in to watch a Christmas movie is one of the hallmarks of the festive season for a lot of us, with titles like Elf, Die Hard and Love Actually usually at the top of the most-streamed list. But does it feel like it's been a while since we've seen a great Christmas movie? Time Out's list of the ten best ever doesn't feature a single title from after 2005, which has us asking – have we seen the last of the great Christmas movies? Ash London, radio queen and passionate Chrissy movie advocate joins Sacha Barbour Gatt on this episode of The Briefing to discuss. Men, do you ever ask yourself what happens to my wife's career when the baby comes along? How long will she take off work? Will that time off be beneficial to our family but detrimental to her career? When will she go back to work? Can she go back to work and have the same job requirements as when she left to become a mother? These are common questions mothers asks themselves over and over, before becoming a mother and once they become a mother.Today I am joined by Ash London, in 2021 she became a mother to her son Buddy Ray. Before Ash was a mother she was radio talk host shows of a popular night time music show called “Ash London Live”, she travelled the world and interviewed huge stars such Harry Styles, Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish and Ed Sheeran to name a few. She was known for her close relationships with these artists because she was so invested in their music and shared the same passion.Right now Ash is very much wrestling with the idea of having another child and is not afraid to say that she misses work or that a lot of her identity was wrapped up in her work. So why are women afraid to admit that? And why is that a hesitance for mother's when it comes to trying again for baby number two and growing the family.Tickets to upcoming Melbourne live shows available here: https://www.malthousetheatre.com.au/tickets/malthouse-outdoor-stage/osher-gunsberg-better-than-yesterday/Got suggestions for Better Than Yesterday? Sophie Walker Australian Birth Stories Nearly 300,000 women give birth in Australia each year and one third of them describe their birth experience as traumatic.“I wish someone had told me!' is the most common phrase for women after they give birth for the first time.Sophie's ground-breaking new book The Complete Australian Guide to Pregnancy and Birth is out this month.Author of “Australian Birth Stories” Sophie is a mum of 3 with a Masters in Public Health. In 2017 Sophie Walker launched her business from the back of her Nissan X Trail. In 5 years it's grown to a million dollar empire. Since the podcast launched, it's had over 10 million total downloads (episodes now clock upwards of 30,000 downloads) and has shared over 350 women's birthing stories including Turia Pitt, Zoe Foster-Blake, Ash London, Steph Claire Smith and Emma Isaacs. It has a waitlist of 5000 women who want to share their stories. And, 146,000 mothers, mothers-to-be, and midwives now form Sophie's online community.Endorsed by the Australian College of Midwives, the podcast is nationally recognised as an education tool and is used as certified professional development for student midwives across Australia.Sophie's motivation comes from personal experience – her first birth was traumatic; a long labour and forceps-assisted birth resulted in a postpartum hemorrhage and pelvic floor trauma. When she fell pregnant for the second time, she was fiercely determined to do things differently. She listened to every birth podcast, watched every birth documentary, read every book and armed herself with birth skills. Her second birth was positive, empowering and redemptive and it became the first ever episode on the podcast. A new generation of mothers are desperate for stories of conception, pregnancy, birth, postpartum and breastfeeding. After years of pandemic isolation and with one-third of Australian women describing their birth experience as traumatic, pregnant mothers and those trying to conceive are hungry for tips, tricks and first hand accounts of birth. They want to know how to prepare, what their options are and how they can navigate the challenge of labour with birth skills. And they want to learn from the wisdom of women's birth stories. For Sophie, education is the secret weapon against birth trauma. She believes every woman has the right to a positive birth experience.Deborah's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/what.ive.learnt/Mind, Film and Publishing: https://www.mindfilmandpublishing.com/Apple Podcast: https://podcasts.apple.com/au/podcast/what-ive-learnt/id153556330Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/3TQjCspxcrSi4yw2YugxBkBuzzsprout: https://www.buzzsprout.com/1365850

We love Ash for being so refreshingly honest about her experience of becoming a mum to her little boy Buddy. It's no secret I have fan-girled over Ash London for a long time. Prior to moving to Australia I admired her broadcasting style on air as she always kept away from yuck salacious gossip and was genuinely interested in the artists she interviewed. RESPECT! She keeps it real and is a beautiful, soulful light in this often discombobulating world. She also loves a colourful outfit... Double respect.Ash and I have many weird parallels in our life in recent years and I wanted to get her on to discuss decisions made and lessons learned. How do you craft a life you genuinely yearn to live and can you have it all at once?! We dissect these topics PLUS overshare on our pregnancy journeys and what crucial role did Ed Sheeran play in the birth of her baby?! Connecting with animals and animal readings, with guest Amanda De Warren “They (animals) are incredibly intelligent, they just try to make our lives better.” ----more---- Today's show was sponsored by The Rah Rah Spirit Team Building a business can be overwhelming but it doesn't have to be. Through on-going training, online workshops and monthly guest experts, the Spirit Team membership is a supportive community where entrepreneurs encourage and support each other while learning and becoming the best they can be. Check it out here: https://rahrahconsulting.com/spirit-team/ Meet Amanda Introducing AMANDA DE WARREN – one of Australia's foremost PSYCHIC MEDIUMS, leading ANIMAL COMMUNICATOR, and writer of the weekly column, “The Animal Whisperer”, in the Australian WOMAN'S DAY magazine nearly six years and counting. Amanda's friendly and natural personality and her ability to relate to people from all walks of life make her a very appealing guest on TV and RADIO shows. A media professional, she intrigues viewers and listeners, even if they're skeptics. And they won't be skeptics for long! Amanda makes PSYCHIC CONNECTIONS to both PEOPLE and ANIMALS that have passed over, and is also one of the few people who can also communicate with ANIMALS that are ALIVE. It's her amazingly accurate readings of readers' animals in her Animal Whisperer column that she's become known and loved for to thousands of readers. She identifies BEHAVIOURAL AND HEALTH ISSUES and gives advice about how to improve people's RELATIONSHIPS with their PETS. What makes Amanda's insights all the more amazing is that she does most of her readings over the PHONE – distance is no barrier, and she doesn't even need to see a photo of the animal. Amanda also requests that she be given NO PRIOR INFORMATION about the person or animal. Amanda is a fierce ANIMAL ADVOCATE and has POACHERS and HUNTERS in her sights. It's her goal in 2020 to take on these lowlifes who commit atrocities on animals, including endangered species, and to help raise awareness and make a difference. She's also planning a trip to visit the endangered orang-utans of Borneo. She wants to be the voice for all animals. You don't want to mess with her! Amanda was recently a big hit on Network 10's Trial By Kyle, helping out with an estranged couple's custody battle over who should have their dog. Amanda gave her advice after hearing straight from the pooch's own thoughts! She's also appeared on TV SHOWS such as The Project, Mornings With Kerri-Anne Kennerley, Today Tonight and A Current Affair, doing live psychic readings of both people and animals. She's featured in numerous MAGAZINES and NEWSPAPER articles including a two-page spread in Queensland's Sunday Mail. She also loves to go on RADIO and has twice shared the airwaves with Jacki O and Kyle, as well as Rove McManus. Recently, Amanda has absolutely nailed her psychic animal communications as a popular guest on 2DayFM with Grant Denyer, Ed Kavalee and Ash London. After her astonishing debut, she was immediately asked back. Amanda's fascinating life story is told in her popular AUTOBIOGRAPHY, Amanda De Warren: My Journey Behind Blue Eyes, and she's currently working on three new books. She now has over 10,000 Facebook followers who she's entertained with stories about her very naughty and huge dog Rommy, and ginger tabby, Russell, who caused havoc together in her home. Sadly, Rommy passed away in early 2020 but no doubt Amanda will eventually welcome another special canine companion into her life. Amanda first realised she had a special connection to animals while working with the legendary ‘crocodile hunter' STEVE IRWIN and his wife Terri at the Queensland Reptile Park, before it became Australia Zoo. Steve trained her and from there it all took off. Another area Amanda is having great success with recently is her psychic HEALING. Clients have reported stunning results (for themselves or their pets), with improvements in health and long-term pain greatly lessening after some sessions with Amanda. Once again, this is usually done by phone. See your ratings shoot up by having AMANDA DE WARREN doing live psychic readings on your show.
