Will Acuff's entrepreneurial journey is a powerful testament to purpose-driven innovation and resilience. His path began with a college band and evolved into a mission to create a meaningful impact through community empowerment. After a life-changing trip to Nairobi and years in a low-income Nashville neighborhood, Will and his wife, Tiffany, co-founded Corner to Corner, a nonprofit that equips underserved individuals to launch their own businesses. As the organization grew, Will stepped back from leadership to focus on expansion and fundraising. Inspired by personal challenges, including parenting a child with disabilities, Will then authored No Elevator to Everest, a heartfelt book about resilience, purpose, and finding joy in the face of life's steepest climbs.

In this deeply moving episode of The 1000 Hours Outside Podcast, Ginny Yurich is joined by Will Acuff, author of No Elevator to Everest, to talk about the transformation that unfolds when we shift from surviving to thriving through spirit-led self-awareness. Will opens up about his raw, honest journey as a husband and father navigating complex PTSD, disabilities, scarcity mindsets, and burnout, while also leading a thriving nonprofit in Nashville. With humor and humility, he shares how learning to ask new questions—like what if we decided to live differently?—radically reshaped his home, his faith, and his future. From parenting through exhaustion to planning a leap-of-faith summer in the Costa Rican jungle, Will brings the hope-filled message that joy can be cultivated—even when nothing on the outside changes. Listeners will be inspired by his practical tools for healing, the spiritual power of play and curiosity, and the gentle challenge to rethink what we believe about success, provision, and purpose. This episode is a gift for anyone who's ever felt like they couldn't go another day. Will Acuff and Shana Berekely are here today to talk to us about Corner to Corner. Corner to Corner was founded by Will and Tiffany Acuff in 2011. Based on their core belief that Jesus calls us to love our neighbors in the same way we love ourselves, Will and Tiffany sought to create a faith-based nonprofit that focused on seeing neighbors flourish on their own terms. Over the last 10 years Corner to Corner has centered their work on Educational and Economic equity grounded in the love of Christ. Since those early days they have seen the work go from their house, to the neighborhood, and ultimately to the entire city of Nashville. Will is an Enneagram 8, and Shana is an Enneagram 2- we'll get to hear how they experience starting and leading a non-profit, according to their type. I met Will Acuff five years ago at the prompting of my good friend Nick Holland. We met to discuss his idea for a non profit that he and his wife Tiffany wanted to start to create infrastructure for the work they had already been doing in their neighborhood. Five years later and they have graduated hundreds of their neighbors through their "Academy", a 12 week entrepreneurship program, and have made an economic impact in their neighborhood over $3M dollars a year. This is a truly inspiring story. It touches on race, faith, economics, and America. And of course the power of creativity.
