Rebecca George is our first repeat guest! She's here to share her new book, “You're Not Too Late,” which serves as a guide for those of us feeling the pressure to rush through life. In this conversation, we're tackling the misconceptions of the “prosperity gospel,” exploring how it can lead to burnout, disappointment, and a feeling of inadequacy. Listen in as we highlight that trusting in God's timing is not just a nice sentiment - it's the lifeline we need in a culture that values speed over substance. This episode is more than just a conversation; it's a heartfelt invitation to slow down, breathe, and trust that we are all exactly where we need to be in life.Episode HighlightsRebecca shares what breathing room looks and feels like for her and how that has changed since our conversation last year. The danger of the prosperity gospel lies in its pressure to constantly achieve more, which can lead to burnout and disappointment. Both joy and grief can coexist beautifully in our lives; it's all about recognizing that it's okay to feel multiple emotions at once.Intentional time-blocking is key to reclaiming your time and prioritizing what truly matters, whether it's self-care, family, or just some well-deserved downtime.Trusting God's timing when life feels like a hurry-up-and-wait situation is a skill worth cultivating; it's all about finding peace in the process.Resources MentionedYou're Not Too Late: Trusting God's Timing in a Hurry-Up World by Rebecca GeorgeDo the Thing: Gospel-Centered Goals, Gumption, and Grace for the Go-Getter Girl by Rebecca GeorgeRelated Episodes You Might Also LikeEP 2 - Slow Growth and Capacity with Mary MarantzEP 18 - Giving Yourself Grace Through Seasons of LifeEP 26 - Conquering Your Insecurities with Jenn SchultzEP 29 - Identity and Purpose with Chronic Pain and IllnessEP 40 - Pursuing Purpose with Rebecca George EP 41 - Are You Sleepwalking Through Life?Connect with RebeccaWebsite: www.radicalradiance.liveFacebook: @radicalradiancepodcastInstagram: @rebeccageorgeauthorBook Website: www.nottoolatebook.liveConnect with RachelWebsite: racheldbaker.comInstagram: @rachel.d.baker Email:
The Proverbs 31 woman has often been placed on a pedestal, celebrated but feared. Who could possibly ever live up to those expectations? But deeper study has led me to a new conclusion about this well-known passage of scripture.Let's break down the elements of this acrostic poem and how it reflects the inner strength, dignity, and love that come from godly wisdom. By the end of this episode, you'll see that the heart of wisdom isn't about perfection; it's about the journey of growing and learning to love God and others wholeheartedly. It's time to explore how to embrace our unique paths to wisdom without feeling like we have to do it all.Episode HighlightsProverbs 31 isn't a checklist to stress us out; it's more of a wisdom roadmap. The woman described in Proverbs 31 is a symbol of wisdom, not a standard to meet.Living with wisdom means embracing our imperfections and learning from our experiences.Embracing wisdom is about loving God and our neighbors, not juggling endless tasks.Resources MentionedJoin the Renewal Retreat WaitlistTHE HOLY BIBLE, NEW INTERNATIONAL VERSION®, NIV® Copyright © 1973, 1978, 1984, 2011 by Biblica, Inc.® Used by permission. Today, we're diving straight into the heart of what it means to hit that breaking point and reclaim our sanity amid the chaos of everyday life. It's all about taking a hot second to reflect and ask ourselves, “How's all that working for ya?” Trust me, stepping back isn't just a luxury; it's a necessity for those of us juggling family, work, and, well, life itself. Join me as I share a personal tale of kitchen chaos that spiraled into a mini-revelation, reminding us that finding breathing room is not just about escaping the noise, but about stepping into clarity. So grab your favorite beverage, kick back, and let's keep it real while we explore the importance of healthy boundaries, because (spoiler alert) you deserve it!Episode Highlights:Reflecting on our lives can be the catalyst for meaningful change and growth. It's crucial to create breathing room in our busy lives to recharge and reset. Moments of solitude help us regain clarity and perspective amidst life's chaos. Seeking appreciation is valid, but our self-worth should never depend on external validation. Taking a brief step back allows us to return to our loved ones as better versions of ourselves. Investing time in ourselves isn't selfish; it's essential for being fully present for others. Living with chronic health issues is hard. And it's not just the actual, physical illness or pain that makes it this way. There might even be some days when you don't feel that bad, and you can get up and do All The Things - which feels amazing! But then there are enough days where you're doing good to get from the bed to the couch. This inconsistency and lack of predictability can make it really hard to know who you are outside of the daily struggle of just doing life. Who are you as a person? I've always loved personality tests. Remember those magazines we got as teens with the quizzes in them? You know, back in the 1900s, as my kids would say. “Are you a flirt? Do you talk too much? Before we get too far into this episode, I want to let you know that I firmly believe this idea of having a family & work life balance is a myth. There is no perfect balance to be achieved here. Today we're talking about my favorite time management tools and how they can help you organize work, life, and All The Things! The tools, strategies, and resources shared here have been a game-changer for me when it comes to overcoming overwhelm and getting things done.I somehow made it all the way to the age of 39 before receiving my diagnosis of ADHD. And when I did finally go through the evaluation, the doctor wasn't like, “Oh, ok. Yeah, that fits.” It was, “Oh, sis. You don't just kinda have ADHD. You have raging ADHD. Like, 98th percentile ADHD.” Cool, cool, cool. While this episode is not specifically about ADHD, I want to preface with this to let you know that I have been on a constant search for tools, resources, and strategies to help with time management my entire life without realizing why it was so difficult for me. I've tried so many different planners, organizers, and methods over the years - so now you get to learn from my experience! There is no one-size-fits-all fix here, but I'm going to share a variety of tools and why I love them with the hope that maybe at least one will be a game-changer for you, too!Episode HighlightsRachel's ADHD diagnosis at age 39 & the need for time management tools that actually workTools that manage your literal timePaper planners & calendarsDigital project management toolsDetermining your next best stepResources MentionedHome & Office Timer with ClockFinish Wall CalendarRocketbookPassion PlannerFrixion pens Time Trackers: Harvest, Clockify, TogglSchedule a Coffee Chat with RachelConnect with hostwww.racheldbaker.comInstagram @rachel.d.baker Email rachel@racheldbaker.comRead it on the blogSome of the links I share are affiliate links, and I will earn a commission if you go through them to make a purchase.
