God didn't stutter when He gave us His Word the Bible, He said what He meant and meant what He said. God's word is the only real truth we have and it is meant to be first of all a revealing of His Holiness and standards for approaching Him because He is so Holy. Then it is also a revealer of how we can approach Him by being saved through what Jesus Christ did through His death burial and resurrection. We can come to God and be His friend through salvation, but only by His means and methods, all other ways lead to Hell. Trust Him today if you haven't for forgiveness of your sins. If you have trusted Him, thank Him for what He has done because without what He did we cannot come near a Holy God. John 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. Have you trusted Him as your Savior? He can Save you if You ask Him based on His death, burial, and resurrection for your sins. Believe in Him for forgiveness of your sins today. “And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” -John 8:32 Our mission is to spread the gospel and to go to the least of these with the life-changing message of Jesus Christ; We reach out to those the World has forgotten. hisloveministries.podbean.com #HLMSocial hisloveministries.net https://www.instagram.com/hisloveministries1/?hl=en Don't go for all the gusto you can get, go for all the God (Jesus Christ) you can get. The Challenge of Christian Nationalism with Mark Noll and Vincent BacoteAs the lines between faith, politics, and patriotism have become, in some quarters, increasingly blurred, it is increasingly important to understand the origin, ideas, and consequences of Christian Nationalism — what it means, why it matters, and how best to respond.“Responsible Christian patriots try to show how Christianity can be a service to the nation; extreme nationalists make Christianity a servant of the nation.” - Mark Noll“If you think about the cross: patriotism, rightly construed from a Christian point of view, will put the flag at the foot of the cross. Christian nationalism wants to drape the [flag] over them. So is God serving your country, the sponsor of your country, or are you, as a Christian, operating wherever you are and having loyalty, but not your primary loyalty to your country over God?” - Vincent BacoteWe hope you find this conversation insightful and helpful as you consider the state of our culture and shared political life, and your role in reviving responsible Christian patriotism. This podcast is an edited version of an Online Conversation recorded in June of 2021. CHASTITY DAWN, a Christian author from Georgia, will join us to discuss her latest release, "From the Wilderness to the Narrow Path: A Journey of Surrender and Course Correction Paperback". FROM HER BIO: "Hello! My name is Chastity. I'm originally from the Midwest but now l live just outside of Atlanta, GA. My book, "From the Wilderness to the Narrow Path: A Journey of Surrender and Course Correction" is a story of how God got my attention, simplified my life, and showed me what it means to not conform to the pattern of this world, which included stepping away from organized religion. In addition to sharing my personal story, I include actionable steps that may help others on their journey. Truthfully, my personal story doesn't involve overcoming anything that would be defined as extreme or extraordinary - it's just a real-life regular story that I believe others may relate to in some way or another. I share details from childhood through adulthood, multiple marriages, an affair, heartbreak, and ultimately surrender. The journey to writing my book revved up when I asked God the question, "If you can't lie, why would you tell me to pray 'Thy kingdom come thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven' if it seems that I can't really have it?'" He answered, and my book is the result of that answer. When it comes to our spiritual journey, there are so many paths to explore and it can be confusing and overwhelming. Religion has turned people off with all of the corruption, deception and layers of issues running rampant in churches. I believe fully in God's Word (The Bible) but I do not call myself a Christian. I am a follower of Jesus Christ and live solely based on His instruction to "Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness." Basically I am on a journey that involves continually stripping away all of the things we have been conditioned to believe about how we should live our lives, and I let the Holy Spirit lead. It's not for the fainthearted, but my life sure is a lot more simple. I love to laugh, and although the subject matter is serious business, I'm human and navigating this world just like everyone else. Walking in full relationship with God doesn't mean you need to be religious with a holier than thou attitude. I learn more and more each day what it truly means to be in this world but not of it." https://chastitydawn.com

Welcome to "The Bible in Today's World", the show that compares today's world with the Word of God. In general and specifically, are we following the Bible in our daily walks? Is society demanding that we follow the Word of God in all that we do? Does our Almighty Father look upon us and frequently say, "Well done, good and faithful servant!" - or is He thinking of us as He thought/thinks of Sodom and Gomorrah? On today's show, we will explore, "Is God Angry at America?", Part 5. We will also play Part 2 of my interview with CHASTITY DAWN. On this episode Jesse takes a much needed hiatus, please continue to keep him, his wife, little Remy, and all his blonde headed clan in your prayers. Justin is joined by John 'POPs' Gruber, and Nathan McCargo to discuss the topic of divorce. The topic is not often approached in churches and often quickly dismissed. In this episode the men discuss from the Bible as well as the nitty gritty of life how the church can protect against the abuse of divorce while understanding the sin that can break a covenant like marriage. As we continue our study through the Bible, we want to lay the foundation of which Bible are we going to study and why.
Christmas was over a month ago. We were a little late putting our tree up this year, 23 December, but we did get there. Perhaps we will leave it up until February as it adds so much colour to the room. When we take the tree down the room looks very bland. It's a bit like the tree in our garden I shared about a couple of weeks ago, stunning hot pink flowers and fresh green leaves in the summer, and then in winter - just plain brown branches. That thought leads me to a question, what brings colour into your life? What brings joy into your life? What dulls the colour in your life? Or what about these questions, what dulls the colour in your life? What steals your joy? Ken and I were recently reflecting on our almost 26 years of marriage, talking about the many times we have faced battles that have come to not only steal our joy but to steal our marriage and our family - the physical health battles; mental health battles; financial battles and relationship battles. We know that Jesus tells us in John 10:10, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy;" The Thief comes to steal And we know that reading something and thinking that we understand it, is very different from the reality of living it! Ken and I have no doubts about why we are still “standing” today. We have a hope in someone so much greater than ourselves. A hope in Jesus Christ and faith to believe His words in the second part of John 10:10, “I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” Jesus comes to give us life Life. Over the years, especially with the journey with our daughter and cancer, my understanding of that word ‘life' has changed. Often we are so focused on our life right here, right now. But God tells us in James 4:14 that our life here is fleeting, “But you don't have a clue what tomorrow may bring. For your fleeting life is but a warm breath of air that is visible in the cold only for a moment and then vanishes!” James 4:14 TPT Life on earth is fleeting What we experience here today on earth is only one part of our life - the fleeting part of our life, perhaps even the dull part of our life when one considers eternity. The apostle Paul knew and understood this well. While in prison he wrote to the Philippians, “I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:13 NIV. Life here on earth is not the end game! There is more. Heaven. Eternal life. There is more If you are interested in finding out some more about Heaven, I can highly recommend this book that a friend gave me some years ago, Imagine Heaven - Near-Death Experiences. God's promises, and the exhilarating future that awaits you, written by John Burke. Our access to eternal life is faith in Jesus Christ, as Romans 6:23 tells us, “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” I don't know what is happening in your life right now, but I do know that there is a God in Heaven who loves you. I know that life here has many challenges and we face many battles. But I also know this, as a person who has been living with faith in Jesus Christ for 28 years, Jesus is our only hope for living life to the full both here on earth and for eternity. There is no other way. “This is the true testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life has its source in his Son. Whoever has the Son has eternal life; whoever does not have the Son does not possess eternal life.” 1 John 5:11-13 TPT Jesus brings the colour into my life Jesus brings the colour into my life - now and forever. He can do the same for you if you choose to receive Him as your Lord and Saviour. If you want to do this now, please pray this prayer* with me: Father, You loved the world so much that You gave Your only begotten Son to die for our sins so that whoever believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life (John 3:16). Your Word says we are saved by grace through faith as a gift from You. There is nothing we can do to earn salvation (Ephesians 2:8-9). I believe and confess with my mouth that Jesus Christ is Your Son, the Saviour of the world (Romans 10:9). I believe He died on the cross for me and bore all of my sins (1 Peter 2:24), paying the price for me (Isaiah 53). I believe in my heart that You raised Jesus from the dead and that He is alive today. I am a sinner and I am sorry for my sins and I ask You to forgive me. By faith I receive Jesus Christ now as my Lord and Saviour. I believe that I am saved and will spend eternity with You! Thank You, Father. I am so grateful! In Jesus' name, Amen. Next steps If you prayed this prayer for the first time, I encourage you to do three things: 1. Start reading God's Word (The Bible) today. The book of Matthew is a great place to start. 2. Find a local Bible-based church and commit to attending each week, so you can grow in your faith, be encouraged and encourage others, and learn more about the purpose God has for you on earth. 3. Tell a family member or friend about the decision you have made today to receive Jesus as your Lord and Saviour. I pray that they will rejoice with you and encourage you. *This prayer is based on a prayer in The Everyday Life Bible. To find out more please visit https://drawingclosertogod.org

Why do so many Christians and evangelicals in particular love C.S. Lewis so much? What is it about him that transcends borders of culture and denominational and theological tribes? Today's guest is historian Mark Noll. Mark and Travis talk about C.S. Lewis and his reception by Americans in the early to mid part of the 20th century. Unlike any author before or since, Lewis tapped into the imagination with the truth that people could grab a hold of and understand. Join Travis and Mark as they sift through Lewis' reception by Catholics, Protestants, and the mainstream media. It's a conversation that will stimulate your faith and appreciate God working through him. Mark is one of the leading church historians in the English-speaking world. Recently retired as the Francis A. McAnaney Professor of History at the University of Notre Dame and before that, he served as Professor of History and Theological Studies at Wheaton College. He taught courses on American religious and intellectual history, the Reformation, world Christianity, and Canadian history. Dr. Noll has written and edited numerous books, most recently including Evangelicals: Who They Have Been, Are Now, and Could Be (with George Marsden and David Bebbington, Eerdmans, 2019), In the Beginning Was the Word: The Bible in American Public Life (OUP, 2015), From Every Tribe and Nation: A Historian's Discovery of the Global Christian Story (Baker Academic, 2014), Jesus Christ and the Life of the Mind (Eerdmans, 2011), and Clouds of Witnesses: Christian Voices from Africa and Asia (co-written with Carolyn Nystrom, IVP, 2011). He has also served on the editorial boards for Books & Culture and Christian History and as co-editor of the Library of Religious Biography for Wm. B. Eerdmans. In 2006 he received the National Endowment for the Humanities medal at the White House. Dr. Noll currently lives in Wheaton, Illinois, with his wife, Maggie.Check out Mark's books.Sign up for the Apollos Watered newsletter.Help support the ministry of Apollos Watered and transform your world today!
If you have trusted Him, thank Him for what He has done because without what He did we cannot come near a Holy God.Mark 8:36 "For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? John 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. Have you trusted Him as your Savior? Good morning warrior…I am your host, Matthew Adams, bringing you another episode from "The Power Of God's Whisper Podcast". We have an inspiring and spiritual journey ahead of us, spotlighting the profound synergy between prayer and the understanding of God's Word. Our focus for today is none other than the contemplative Isaac of Syria.Scripture: "No prophecy in Scripture ever came from the prophet's own understanding, or from human initiative. No, those prophets were moved by the Holy Spirit, and they spoke from God." (2 PETER 1:20-21)Bishop Isaac of Syria, a man who sacrificed worldly commitments to dwell in solitude with God's Word, offers us a potent piece of wisdom: "Approach not the scriptures without prayer." As we unpack his advice, we will explore the unique and intimate relationship between prayer and scripture understanding.Point 1: The Multidimensional Language of God's Word The Bible, a divine revelation of God's character, His plans, and His will, is teeming with nuances, shades of meaning, and diverse implications. However, its interpretation isn't a free-for-all. It communicates only what God intends, making no allowances for distortion or abuse.Point 2: Scripture - A Prayerful Encounter Isaac of Syria implores us to engage with the scriptures prayerfully, asking God to grant us the power to perceive the truth embedded within. It is a call to invoke God's help, acknowledging that human wisdom, unaided, can never fathom the depths of God's Word.Point 3: Surrender to the Holy Spirit Interpreting scripture requires us to surrender our intellectual faculties to the Holy Spirit. It's a divine collaboration, where the Holy Spirit inspires, reveals, and guides us through the labyrinth of God's wisdom, making His Word come alive. Conclusion: True scripture understanding lies at the intersection of prayerful reading and Spirit-led interpretation. It invites us into a humble recognition of our limited understanding and calls for a complete reliance on the Holy Spirit.Call to Action: As we study God's Word, let's incorporate prayer as our compass, inviting the Holy Spirit to illuminate our understanding and enrich our spiritual wisdom.Prayer: Dear Lord, our human wisdom falls short in grasping Your profound thoughts. We invite Your Spirit to enable, inspire, and interpret Your Word as we read and meditate. Reveal Your truth to us, in us, and through us.Ending: Thank you for joining me, Matthew Adams, on another insightful journey into understanding God's Word on "The Power Of God's Whisper Podcast". May we continue to seek His wisdom through a prayerful study of scripture, letting His Word shape our hearts and minds. Until next time, stay blessed.Thank you for reading The Power Of God's Whisper. This Sunday we'll discover a person and a force that is entirely devoted to keeping people from entering heaven. If you paid attention in World History class you remember that as Hitler's appetite for power and territory grew, his army began to march across Europe. In some cases, the fight could hardly be called a battle. The German army rapidly advanced, with its tanks and technologically advanced weapons. In some of the underdeveloped nations, their armies made a futile effort to resist the aggression, fighting back with spears and even rocks. It was no contest at all, because these nations were not equipped for the battle. The same could be said of many Christians. They are totally unprepared or even unaware of the spiritual battle that goes on around them and the eternal consequences of these battles. Our fight is against Satan and the powers of darkness, or other fallen angels, which he controls. Many of Satan's victims do not even know there is a war going on and because of this, they make easy prey. One of my mentors often said, “One of the most disbelieved verses in all of Scripture is found in Ephesians 6:12.” I think he's right. “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.” These forces have been at work since God created man and woman. In the opening pages of the Bible it is apparent that Satan is the enemy of God, and that he actively seeks to oppose God, his purposes, and his people. However, we have been equipped by God to fight this enemy and win. I'm reminded of William Wallace (Mel Gibson) from the movie Braveheart who stood tall and stoic as the enemy rapidly advanced directly toward him and his men. Calmly, then forcefully he said, “Steady, hold, hold, hold, NOOOOOW!!!!” At that moment the Scotts picked up hidden weapons and immediately began to take down their English opposition. Or perhaps you remember the words of Maximus from the movie Gladiator when he told his General, “On my command, unleash hell.” We have something far more powerful than hell. We have the power of God's throne in heaven. On God's command, we unleash heaven! Three distinct weapons are in your arsenal Christian. Are you using them? 1. Prayer - prayer engages God's power against Satan. 2. Worship - when we worship we do the exact opposite of what Satan did. He practiced self-love and had thoughts of exaltation fueled by pride. He wanted to be on God's throne; we bow down before it. 3. God's Word - The Bible is described as a sword that cuts through the lies and replaces them with truth. Satan is allergic to the truth and this is why he left Jesus alone after He kept breathing the Scriptures into Satan's face.

The second part of our conversation where Travis and Mark continue their discussion of evangelicalism. What happens when what we claim we believe doesn't match up with the way we live? When we claim to believe in a new birth through Christ but still cling to beliefs, ways of looking at the world and even actions that are a lot worse than problematic? What caused evangelicalism to become so politicized in the US? should we even call ourselves evangelicals anymore? If you thought part one of my conversation with Mark Noll was complicated, well, I hate to say it, but it's going to get more complicated. We discuss evangelicalism, indigenous peoples, global evangelicalism, and a whole lot more! Mark is one of the leading church historians in the English-speaking world. We welcome Mark Noll to the show! Travis and Mark discuss evangelicalism, what it is, who fits the label, and what the label means globally speaking. The term "evangelical" has become ubiquitous, with it being coopted by various groups and media to the point that some no longer want to use the term. Should we use it? What does it even mean? And what does it mean for us today? It would be lovely if the lines were nice and neat, but almost like everything else in our world today, it's complicated. A @Christadelphians Video: Description: At the first advent of Christ, the people were expecting a king to release them from the bondage of Rome. They did understand that suffering and the cross had to come before the crown. The Lord Jesus preached the gospel of the Kingdom of GOD, and taught those who would listen to prepare their hearts and minds for His Kingship. He told them he would go away and then return to establish the Kingdom of GOD on earth. Les and Pastor Kyle Worsham discuss spiritual dryness. What is spiritual dryness? A feeling of being depleted or empty. Many people describe it as feeling far from the presence of God or having minimal or no spiritual growth What 3 things can cause spiritual dryness? Situations and mindsets: lusts of the flesh and pride are the primary ones Lusts: Peter said that fleshly lusts wage “war against the soul” (1 Peter 2:11). Fleshly desires dull the senses of spiritual things. We start to chase after things of this world rather than things of the Kingdom, which leaves us dry. Pride: Pride is the sin that kills faith and trust in God. Pride crept into the garden, and it creeps into your lives today. When we go through life and feel “good” about our state of being, we can forget the Lord and think all we have is from our own strength and doing. Pride seeks adoration and appreciation. It forgets that great and mighty things will be done by God's Spirit, not by our strength. Lack of consuming God's Word: The Bible says that God's Word is a lamp and a light. It reveals the places to walk. So often, we are spiritually dry because we don't know what to do in a given situation. We become so focused on other things or the difficulty of our situation that it takes away from time in God's Word and prayer. Spiritual dryness is a red flag to cut away distraction and carve out time with God every day. How to overcome lust, pride, and lack of consuming God's Word Lust: Ask God to reveal to you any areas that are unchecked. What are you “consuming” that is actually drying you up rather than refreshing and nourishing your spirit? This could be watching certain movies, listening to certain music, or gathering with people who speak against God's Word. Pride: Ask God to reveal areas where pride has crept in. God says that He gives grace to the humble and resists the proud. If you are feeling spiritually dry, humbly come before God and repent. Ask Him to renew a right spirit within you (Psalm 51:10-12). Lack of consuming God's Word: Ask God what He wants you to let go of to begin to receive refreshment from the Living Water. This takes spiritual discipline and commitment, but the harvest will be abundant in due season. Is there a hidden gift in spiritual dryness? Yes! Spiritual dryness is not pleasant, but it is a reality for us at various points in our faith journey. As with anything—in times of joy and trials—we must be willing to ask God what He wants us to see and learn from every circumstance. Seasons of spiritual dryness are no different. Jesus said if anyone thirsts, come. Spiritual dryness leaves us thirsty. But unless we thirst, we won't draw near to the One who can give us living water. The key to overcoming spiritual dryness is to reposition our minds to come to Jesus and drink! How to overcome spiritual dryness Recognize it as an invitation to come to Jesus. David's example in Psalm 42: He didn't allow his past or his feelings to drive him. He decided to praise and hope in God. Worship. Get into the Word. Pray out loud. Journal: record prayers and how God answers them. Join community and attend revival weekend. Livingproof.co/revival
Shining Light Ministries ”The Beacon” is how we connect to God the Father. We do this by reading His sweet Word (The Bible). SLM knows reading The Bible can seem overwhelming; however, “The Beacon” is that starting point. We read one chapter a day, & we do it together! Eliminating the question of, “Where do I begin?” “The Beacon“ also solidifies the reading with our Torch Lighters! Testing your knowledge of what we read together. Join us for our look at the book of Acts.

Of all the topics I've spoken on to date, this will more than likely be the most important of all, and I'd image one of the most important I will EVER speak on. This episode, I feel so passionately about, that if I had only a few minutes to live, and was surrounded by friends and family, this is the topic I would choose. Why?? Because it's THAT Important to your life here on earth, and that of your eternal resting place. Everyone wants to go to Heaven, but no one wants to die. Ever heard that one before? The deeper you analyze that, the more you uncover the real reason – everyone WANTS paradise, but no one wants the hard road to get there. They want their cake, to eat it too, and to be able to go back for seconds, possibly thirds as well, ok? You with me so far? Again, I'm going to attempt to do in these few moments we have together, to break the chains the enemy has had on you since birth and certainly since you became a professing Christian. By the way, I'm saying professing Christian, because many profess that they are true Christians, until they, ironically, read their Bible and find out they're not truly saved. So, not knowing everyone I'm addressing, I'll continue with professing Christians – for all you know, I'm the same. I'm going to try to hit a nerve so deep with you hearts and minds, that you will be forced to look at God's Word differently, and with the help of our Helper, the Holy Spirit, you will not continue refusing to dwell, which is the same as consistently reading, the Bible any longer. I can't make you, but the Holy Spirit can convict you – and that, my friends is what my hope is today, God willing.
