Sorry Sox fans, but it's over. Jack gets into the end of the post-season hopes for the Sox as well as what holes need to be filled in this lineup for next season. Cubs have 9 games left and the farm players who have been brought up are looking pretty good. It's giving Rick a lot more hope going into next season as well. Justin Fields said he played like trash and Rick and Jack couldn't agree more. Khalil Herbert and Roquan Smith were basically the only ones who made anything happen during their win against the Texans so realistically, how many more wins do the Bears have in them? Hawks pre-season hockey has begun...with a loss. Jack gets into the lineup and even more uncertainty on Toews' and Kane's future with the Blackhawks. Lonzo can't get healthy and the Bulls didn't do enough this off-season to instill hope in Bulls fans that they'll return to the playoffs. All we can do is hope for now. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/bigleagueschicago/support

Well Bears fans, what can you do? The Bears looked terrible on Sunday Night Football and that's kinda par for the course for them in any prime time games the last few seasons. At least it wasn't Rodgers who technically beat us this time. Cubs swept the Mets but they were eliminated from playoff contention at least mathematically wise this past week. The young guns for the Cubs are playing well and we say goodbye to Frank the tank. The White Sox will play the single most important series of their season when they go against the Guardians in a 3 game set. Will they at least take 2 out of 3 and make Jack happy or will this be the end for the Sox season? Rick and Jack give their 4 Stars of the Week in a very football/baseball heavy week. The Bears fucking did it! They beat the 49ers after a shaky start to week 1 with a great defensive showing as well as a solid Getsy offense that is starting to show what Justin Fields can really do. Packers next week for SNF! The Sky's bid for back-to-back WNBA Champs came to an end in game 5 against the Sun after a brutal 4th quarter for the Sky. Great season nonetheless ladies! Cairo seems to be the man on the southside now that the Sox are only 3 games back of the division lead and with the way they're playing right now, he may have to lead them through a post-season run. We hope. And introducing a brand new segment 4 Stars of the Week where Rick and Jack name 4 players/coaches who they think did extremely well in Chicago sports the past week. Bears release plans for Arlington Park stadium IF they decide to go through with the purchase which after reading the statement the Bears put out, seems like a pretty big IF. So actually the White Sox are not back. Like at all. The Sox are falling apart during the most crucial time and with a schedule that should favor them but somehow they can't get over that hump. Jack has waved the white flag. Jed Hoyer is bringing up more young talent for the Cubs and that's what's keeping those seats filled in Wrigley at the moment. Will the Cubs be big spenders next off-season and maybe bring in Ohtani? The Sky lose game 1 of the semi-finals against the Connecticut Suns but they also lost game 1 against New York so Rick is pretty confident they'll come back to win the series. Plus Connecticut isn't a sports town. Rick and Jack predict the Bears season record as they go game by game to determine if they'll make the playoffs or at most make it out of the depths of the power rankings. The Kane rumors have returned and picturing 88 wearing a Blackhawks jersey next year are getting hazier and hazier. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/bigleagueschicago/support

After a rough game 1 in the WNBA playoffs the Chicago Sky dominate the last 2 games to move on to the semi-finals! Looks like New York couldn't get it done against the best city in the world and the only good Chicago team. With only about 40 games left the White Sox can't seem to gain any momentum to get ahead of the standing in both the Central or Wildcard. Jack won't be too happy if a stellar season by Cease is ruined by an absence in the post-season. Rick is looking at the positives during this terrible Cubs season: Contreras wasn't traded, Wrigley is still selling out pretty consistently, and Justin Steele is looking like a future ace of the staff. Gotta look at the positives... Roquan Smith has ended his hold-in and reported to training camp without fines from the Bears front office. (00:12) The Cubs visit Rizzo in New York and he has some strong words for the franchise he won a World Series for and Rick tends to agree with what he said. Also, the Cubs got destroyed by Rizzo and the Yankees. (22:21) Being #2 in the WNBA power rankings sure makes it seem like the Sky will have a great shot at repeating as champs. (49:57) Reports have come out that Zach LaVine will indeed be coming back to the Bulls on a max deal since no other team will make him their number one guy except for the Spurs. Who suck btw. (00:11) Christopher Morel has been one of few reasons to watch the Cubs this season as well as many other names that are being brought up from the minors. This years trade deadline is gonna be a good one. (11:02) The Sky are #3 in the WNBA power rankings even after their consistent 2nd quarter shortcomings. They've got a tough test against Connecticut coming up and they need to take advantage of the opportunity to show the league why they're defending champs. (27:33) Akiem Hicks takes a shot at Mitch Trubisky and Jaylon Johnson ranks as one of the best up and coming corners of the league according to PFF.
