Spoiler alert: it wasn't a quick fix, and it wasn't about trying harder or forcing myself to be motivated. It was about making a deep, long-term commitment to the process and finally getting the right support.In 2019, I sat on my parents' couch, fired up and ready to break free from the cycle of binge eating. I knew diets weren't the answer. Intermittent fasting? Not the answer. Tracking food? Not going to work for me. I knew the power of NOT giving into my urges, but it felt like I had no choice...So, I messaged a coach, fired up and ready as ever to stop binge eating, but something shifted. The next morning, I woke up feeling better, like maybe I didn't need that support after all. “Maybe I can do this on my own,” I thought.But that feeling didn't last (of course)... Another urge came, and before I knew it, the bingeing cycle continued.
