I've been doing a lot of participant recruiting and usability tests during my 3rd and 4th week as a PM. So what the heck is UX Research? UX (user experience) research is the systematic study of target users and their requirements, to add realistic contexts and insights to design processes. UX researchers adopt various methods to uncover problems and design opportunities. Doing so, they reveal valuable information which can be fed into the design process. [00:01:41] Create a list of everything that you've ever purchased. Don't be afraid to just pause this podcast. Go over it and think about what's still relevant to what you do or want to do. Create your own professional development plan. [00:02:55] Set deadlines on when you want to finish it all. And don't forget to set aside the time to actually do the thing that you've learned! [00:04:24] Make sure that you picked your most urgent need for skillset right now, and focus on that. [00:05:46] Ask yourself these questions. Which are the newsletters that you're reading religiously? Is there someone ahead of you living your dream? Grab a pen and paper right now and list out all the people you want to learn from. Research, what they can offer and then invest. Invest in these things. Again, think conferences, summit, books, courses, coaches. [00:06:55] Ask yourself how will you keep relevant?
