A couple of nerdy brothers discuss the latest episodes of the Marvel Cinematic Universe TV shows.
The Marvelvision podcast, hosted by the Faraci brothers, is a truly insightful and engaging deep dive into the MCU's foray into weekly television. With their extensive knowledge of all things Marvel, these brothers provide a phenomenal analysis of each episode of WandaVision and other Marvel shows. As someone who has always admired Devin's writing, I was thrilled to discover that his expertise translates seamlessly into the world of podcasting. The chemistry between the brothers is palpable, making each episode feel like you're eavesdropping on a fascinating conversation between two passionate fans.
One of the best aspects of this podcast is the brothers' deep knowledge and understanding of the Marvel canon. Their ability to connect various elements from the comics and previous films to what is happening in WandaVision is truly impressive. They provide valuable insights and interpretations that enhance the viewing experience and make you appreciate the show even more. Additionally, their banter and camaraderie create an enjoyable atmosphere that keeps you hooked throughout each episode.
However, it should be noted that one downside of this podcast is its tendency to take a while to get to the meat of the discussion. Like many podcasts, there is often an introductory segment before diving into the main content. While it can be interesting to hear some personal anecdotes or updates from the hosts' lives, it can sometimes feel like unnecessary filler before getting to the analysis of WandaVision. This could potentially deter listeners who are looking for a more direct approach.
In conclusion, The Marvelvision podcast offers an exceptional deep dive into WandaVision and other Marvel shows with its knowledgeable hosts and engaging discussions. Despite occasional delays in getting to the main content, this podcast provides valuable insights that enhance one's appreciation for these shows. Whether you're a die-hard Marvel fan or simply enjoy thought-provoking analysis of popular television series, The Marvelvision podcast comes highly recommended.

One of the most prophetic shows to ever air on television has come to an end. The Boys, which seemed to be somehow parodying the Trump administration in real time, finished up with an episode bookended by funerals and featuring some significant deaths... and the upsetting reappearance of Frenchie, TV's most irritating character. Did the satirical superhero show stick the landing? Did they spend all of the budget elsewhere? Has any onscreen couple had less chemistry than Jack Quaid and Erin Moriarty? We discuss all this and more. Before that: tons of news! Supergirl, The Batman Part II, Lanterns, and much much more. Like a ton more. If you don't care about any of that skip right to 1:13:54. Frank's back, and he's brought The Raid and John Wick with him. This special event episode takes place... well, we can't tell when it takes place. Or what exactly is the point. The season comes to a conclusion with a confrontation in a court of law, and maybe it's the writers who should be on trial! This finale is a strange mix of absolutely incomprehensible dumbness and totally kickass dumbness. But it's got a lot of dumbness, any way you look at it. Before that: a new Planet of the Apes! Vanessa Fisk gets buried about thirty minutes after she dies, while Daredevil and Jessica Jones have a convo on one of the ugliest and more boring sets this show has ever given us. Foggy is back, which is good news or bad news depending on how you feel about the character. Either way, he's only back in flashbacks and holy cow do we get some wigs in those scenes. Kingpin gets into the ring and he's not holding back, and neither is Bullseye, who kills a bunch of ATVF jerks in a couple of very, very fun scenes. How do you get to Red Hook? Somebody tell Daredevil that you take the F to Smith/9th Street and either walk a bit or you can hop on the B61, because he and Karen spend a lot of time in these two episodes trying to figure it out. While they figure it out they meet a cute AVTF agent and tell him they liked his vibe and that's why they tied him to a chair, Kingpin is in a boxing match I guess, Michael Gandolfini continues to be the best actor on the show and Bullseye is carrying his own lighting kit. It all ends here, and it all ends kinda quickly. After ten hours of storytelling the V franchise throws in telepathy and starchildren in the last ten minutes, a truly bizarre choice. This week's time killer is the second of three Love Boat episodes we'll be doing as we wait for Wonder Man. We discuss the filmmaking on display, the changes to canon and what they mean and then we have a fierce argument about the geopolitical realities of the 1980s vis a vis the Cold War and threat of nuclear annihilation. Before that: Why Aaron Paul quit Invincible. Marty Supreme. Life in North Carolina. Kendrick Lamar's movie. Apt Pupil. And much more! During the recap and review portion of the show we talk about whether HBO's Watchmen is the pinnacle of the superhero/comic adaptation era, and what the criteria for such a thing would be. We also go long on Derek's deep dislike of Adrian Veidt, and whether it's entirely fair. What are the grey moral areas of the story, and is it so easy to just make a declaration about who is good and who is bad? Plus: does the Peteypedia critique Alan Moore? Before that: further adventures in unemployment. Lanterns is pushed back. WB's uncertain future. The Pope loves movies. Charli XCX's Letterboxd. Judging a movie by it's box office. The majesty of Don Cheadle. And more! If you don't care about any of that skip to 55:14.Listen to our four hour extravaganza about The Last Jedi, available only to Patreon subscribers at the $7 and above levels. It's time to meet Lady Trieu and Lubeman, to enjoy some eggs, to investigate that big old clock and to figure out what color Bubastis was anyway. This week's episode is a little slower, but it's no less gripping as this masterful television show heads into its middle stretch. Before that: Derek has some bad news (which I learn about live on the show), we expand our news to cover non-superhero movies, and we talk about the fact that Batman should really know Spanish. Thanks for listening! If you're not already a member of the Patreon, now is a great time to join because the latest episode of our Watch Men podcast features us talking about The Last Jedi for four hours, and it's a real dive into the movie, not reheated culture war stuff. That big blue you-know-what makes its appearance this week as Laurie Blake enters the story. We discuss why you'd throw a coffin on a bomb, whether Adrian is supposed to be good at everything, and terrorist tome The Turner Diaries. Before that: who will Alan Ritchson play in the DCU? When can we expect Lanterns? And what did we think of Predator: Badlands and Pluribus? If you don't care about any of that skip to 44:47. Thanks for listening! See you next week.

Judd is dead, but whodunnit? 105 year old man Will Reeves claims it was him, but Angela has her doubts. Meanwhile, Adrian makes his butler a little hot. And this week's TV includes the premiere of American Hero Story, complete with slomo ultraviolence. Before that: we keep enjoying It: Welcome to Derry, but Derek's not much of a Stephen King guy in general. David Harbour is having some trouble, and James Gunn is keeping his job. Plus: Absolute Wonder Woman and Batman beats up white supremacists. If you don't care about that skip right to 50:55. Thanks for listening and see you next week!

It's a whole new era! Marvelvision is gone! In its place - Across the Omniverse. To be honest it's pretty much the same thing, but we felt like it was time for a rebrand that would allow us to open up the boundaries of what we talk about on this show. Don't worry, it's the same bickering brothers you've tolerated all these years. This week begins a series where we do a rewatch of HBO's 2019 Watchmen, which might be the most important genre work of the 21st century. Learn the connection of Bass Reeves to the Lone Ranger! Hear the tragic story of the Tulsa Race Massacre. Enjoy the arguing about whether or not superheroes are intrinsically fascist! Dive deep into the meaning and mythology of this first episode. We are trying to be as spoiler free as possible, just in case you're watching for the first time. There will be some spoilers and there will be some roundabout discussion that could make things obvious, but this show is so good we don't want to ruin for anybody so we'll do our best. We'll see you again next week for the next chapter in this masterpiece of television storytelling. Thanks for listening!

It's the biggest upset of the year - we both like this four episode spin-off of the miserable show What If...?. It's true, this one kinda nails it and does the sort of big comic book worldbuilding we want more of in the MCU, all while killing off a bunch of characters at every twist and turn. Before that: does the Punisher have a Robin? Derek mostly liked that Ed Gein show. Marv Wolfman writes the Teen Titans to be very very mean. And what's the dumbest story in the Bible? In the highly unlikely scenario that you don't care about any of that, skip to 51:27.Next week: HBO's Watchmen TV show rewatch begins!

Season two - and the whole series - of Peacemaker comes to an end with an episode that features a number of montages, two concert performances and a cliffhanger ending that is supposed to be setting up the future of the DCU. But is it any good? Well....Before that there's a bunch of news out of New York Comic-Con, we get to know the schedule for Marvelvision in 2026, there's a trailer for Wonder Man and we get to answer your questions, including one that allows me to boast about being on a movie set. If you don't care about that, skip right to 59:41. Yup, this is a long episode!Next week: Marvel Zombies!

This episode is late! That's because, as you will hear in the recording, my internet was just going down and up the whole evening when we started recording. The episode is slightly jankier than usual, but I think it's tolerable. On Peacemaker we find out about Earth X's Auggie, a bunch of cops die, the two Vigilantes delight, Judomaster steals every scene he's in and things on the Nazi Earth come to a real head. We also discuss whether or not James Gunn blew it with this season's pacing and an obsession with doing reveals instead of storytelling. Before that: Dappion unmasked! Why was Spawn so popular? Would we ever go back and cover the 2019 Watchmen HBO show? And what are the secret projects James Gunn says are in the works for the DCU? If you don't care about all that skip to 51:16.Next week: the season, and probably series, finale. Thanks for listening!

This week reveals the big twist we all saw coming, and it features a cameo by a major DC character. The wheels have stopped spinning and the story is really underway. It's the best episode of the season so far! Plus a lengthy detour into DC Comics' many Crises. Before that: capers on pizza, Fortnite figures out what the Peacemaker dance actually is, Dappion returns and more! If you don't care about that skip to 47:09.Thanks for listening!

The wheel on the show keeps on spinnin', but at least the spin is entertaining. Peacemaker goes head to fist with Flag, Leota may have a new career and there are astonishing revelations about Eagley. Also: is it too simple for the alternate Earth to be a white supremacist world, or does that actually offer Peacemaker a chance at the redemption he's long wanted? Before that: Tom Holland gets injured on the set of the new Spider-Man, we congratulate my girlfriend on her new Emmy and Doomsday finishes shooting. Plus: should Fantastic Four: First Steps have come out at Thanksgiving? And why you should always agree to be on any panel that invites you. If you don't care about this, skip to 48:51.This weekend we released the latest Watch Men, talking about Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 3. Now's the time to make sure you're subscribed at the $5 or above level at our Patreon so you can hear us go deep on the overhated film! Thanks for listening, see you next week.

Last week's Peacemaker left us with quite a cliffhanger as ARGUS showed up at Peacemaker's house while he was totally unprepared. Clearly this episode is an all-out war, right? Right? Okay, well not so much. But does the episode work or is it wheel spinning? Does this show need more Vigilante? And were my eyes playing tricks on me or did that alien have a twig and berries? Before that: Doctor Doom is seen! We discuss what we would turn into a shared universe. And is the Marvel method particularly bad or is it sort of similar to how other big tentpole movies get made? All of this and more in this week's episode! If, for some reason, you don't care about all that, simply skip to 54:39. Thanks for listening and see you next week!

This week Peacemaker finds himself loving the alternate dimension more than ever, but what's the catch? Your stalwart hosts know there must be one, but we disagree what it might be. And could Alt Peacemaker be a member of the Sons of Liberty? Before that: we saw The Conjuring: Last Rites, we talk about having the very R-rated Peacemaker be the prologue to the likely family friendly Man of Tomorrow, and what's the deal with vibranium anyway? All of that and more in the opening, but if you don't care about this skip straight to 40:11. Thanks for listening!

Just when we thought this show might be getting a bit morose, Tim Meadows shows up like a ray of comedy sunlight and brings Peacemaker season two to the kind of hilarious place we want it to be. Hallelujah! Also: Eagley really kicks ass, and we wonder if James Gunn would ever kill Peacemaker's avian sidekick (who is maybe a duck? Or a parrot?).Before that: you know how the news is these days. It's coming in slow and steady, but we also have your questions for the answering. And yeah, as an Xboxer I'm late to the game but I've started playing Helldivers II and lemme tell you, Derek could not care less. Do you also not care? Do you not care about us, our hopes, our dreams, our lives? Then skip right to 41:42 to get right at the recap/review.Next week: more peace is made! See you then.

God bless James Gunn, who decided to follow up the success of Superman with a massive orgy in the first episode of Peacemaker season 2, released just weeks later. The idea of parents sitting down with their kids to enjoy the next chapter of the DCU and getting a whole lot of sausage is simply too funny to me.Before we discuss the episode (and the DC Comics easter eggs within) we cover a little bit of news, including the latest casting on Spider-Man: Brand New Day and just what the heck the next chapter in the "Superman saga" could be. If you don't care about that, skip to 27:03.By the way, the latest episode of our podcast Watch Men sees us talking about 1990's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Now is a great time to join us at the Patreon and listen to this one!

We loved him in Superman and we're excited to see him in Peacemaker season 2, but where does the Green Lantern Guy Gardner come from? This week we read his first appearance in Green Lantern #59 and... it's not quite what we expected. And he's not the Guy Gardner we know and love. But he does fight giant robots. Before that: there's a whole bunch of news, including a look at the Punisher's Battle Van in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Zach Cregger's spec script DC Universe movie and why Superman is on PVOD as you listen to this episode. To skip this go to 35:47.Next week: It's the first episode of Peacemaker season 2. We'll see you there!

Take a magical history tour with the War Dogs of Wakanda as they leave their homeland to retrieve vibranium and tech that has escaped their borders. These four episodes span thousands of years and have gorgeous animation... but are they actually any good? Your hosts may disagree on this subject. In the intro: wow, that new Spider-Man suit looks great! There's a Fantastic Four sequel coming even though the film's second weekend was a bust? And just why does everybody care so much about Mephisto anyway? If you don't care about that skip right to 49:07.Want your question read on the show? Email us at ask.cinema.sangha@gmail.com and put the name of the show on which you want your question answered in the subject line. One question per email, but as many emails as you like! Also: want to watch this episode? You can! It's on our YouTube channel: www.youtube.com/cinemasangha. Go subscribe and like the video to help us out. As always, please come join us as a subscriber at the Patreon: www.patreon.com/cinemasangha. Thanks for listening! Next week: Green Lantern vol 2 #59: the first appearance of Guy Gardner! After that we're diving into Peacemaker season 2. See you then!

He's Superman's greatest foe, and Action Comics #23 is where he first appears. You can tell there was no grand plan for this guy, since they kill him at the end of the story. But still, the key elements of Lex are there, even if he does have a head of hair and wears a weird robe. Also: does this story feature proto-Kryptonite?Before that we have some news including Fantastic Four: First Steps box office, Marvel cutting costs, the full reveal of the history of metahumans mural from Superman and more. Plus: your questions! This week we discuss what we want to have happen to our stuff when we die. Next week: all four episodes of Eyes of Wakanda. See you then!

With Fantastic Four: First Steps opening tomorrow we decided to go back and look at the stories that inspired the latest MCU film - Fantastic Four #48, 49 and 50. These stories see the debuts of the Silver Surfer and Galactus, as well as... Johnny Storm going to college? Let me tell you, the structure of these comics is pretty odd. But they're one of the pinnacles of the legendary Jack Kirby/Stan Lee run. Before that we have a ton of news, and as of this recording there isn't even anything big coming out of San Diego Comic-Con! Kevin Feige spills the beans about an MCU reset, a Booster Gold pilot is being written, there's a new Wonder Woman movie and more. If you don't care about this skip to 47:22. This weekend we will have Fantastic Four: First Steps on Watch Men, so make sure you're subscribed to our Patreon at the $5 level to get it! You'll also gain access to our Superman episode and an incredible back catalog of episodes. Thanks for listening. See you next week!

It's a boy! In Fantastic Four Annual #6 Franklin Richards, the son of Reed and Sue, is born. We're reading this comic this week because Franklin's gonna be showing up in this month's Fantastic Four: First Steps, but I hope his role is bigger than what we get in this annual. One thing this annual does give us is the first appearance of Annihilus, great Jack Kirby art and a plethora of old comic book ads. Before that: listeners keep trying to get Derek to talk about the Snyderverse, I see Superman for a second time, and what can the new Supergirl poster tell us about next year's DCU entry? All this and more, but if you don't care just skip to 43:03.Want to hear us talk about Fantastic Four: First Steps when it comes out? Want to hear our three and a half hour conversation about Superman? Simply go to the Patreon and become a $5 or above member and you'll get our monthly superhero deep dive podcast, Watch Men!Next week: the first appearances of the Silver Surfer and Galactus! We're reading Fantastic Four #49-50. See you then!

In the upcoming movie Superman Krypto the Superdog is a very naughty boy indeed, and it turns out that's quite canonical, dating all the way back to his first appearance in Adventure Comics #210. Also in this issue: a story where Aquaman has to use sea creatures as a printing press. Before that: I may have discovered a loophole for superheroes' no killing policy, we discuss whether there's too much James Gunn and Derek has already seen Superman but is keeping his lips sealed until the next episode of Watch Men. Which you can get if you're a $5 or above member at the Patreon!Next week: the birth of Franklin Richards in Fantastic Four Annual 6!

What about that ending? We definitely argue about it for quite some time. A lot happens in these episodes, and new doors are opened in the MCU... but will anyone ever walk through them? Is it better to hope or to expect the worst? And does it take longer between sequels these days? Before that we have some news and we answer your questions, which leads us to wonder: what is a comic book crossover? Is it only between individual books? Does an overarching event with tie-ins count? And what's the worst one anyway? If you don't care about this skip right to 47:43.Next week: the first appearance of Krypto! Adventure Comics #210, which is available on the DC app but be warned: simply searching for the title won't serve it up to you. You have to search for the exact issue number. See you then!

Spinning off from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and based on the comic character of the same name, Ironheart has sat on the shelf for some time. But why? Is it bad? Is it surprisingly good? Is it aggressively fine? The answer lies within this episode. Before that: The Thing has a beard in the Fantastic Four movie, we answer your questions and I step on Derek's intro for the first time ever. Next week it's the back half of Ironheart, which should up the supernatural element in big ways. Will the show stick the landing better than Riri does in the opening of the premiere episode? Find out with us!

And so the Cadmus arc comes to an end... but is it with a bang or a whimper? It's certainly an undeniably odd episode, and your mileage may vary. One thing I'll say for this one: it lets us know that Bruce Wayne leaves his DNA all over town. Before that we have some news and a letter that claims Derek sounds like Robert Downey Jr. What do you think about that? Let us know.Next week: the first three episodes of Ironheart. See you then!

The finale of the Cadmus Saga is upon us as the original seven of the Justice League take on the combined Luthor/Brainiac creature. Will they be able to save the world? Will they remember they have superpowers in time? This is the episode that almost has the guts to kill off The Flash. Before that: your hosts did a little protesting this weekend. Plus: I get cranky about film journalists, Derek loves a H.E.R.B.I.E ad and James Gunn says stuff. And your questions get answered! If you don't care about that stuff skip to 43:47!Next week: our last Justice League Unlimited episode for now, as we watch the Epilogue! After that it's Ironheart! Thanks for listening.
