Misty Crider went to Western Technology Center 13 years ago to learn about OSHA and Safety Data Sheet compliance. The workshops/trainings were offered at Western Tech's Weatherford campus through its business development services division. An employee of Western Plains Library System for 15 years, Crider became involved with the Western Oklahoma Human Resource Group, a special organization formed by WTC for human resources professionals. She frequently attends monthly training opportunities with human resources experts, networking with peers and keeping up to date on employment laws and human resource management strategies. She has served as secretary and president-elect of that group. WTC provided much of the training Crider needed to pursue the national certified professional certification from the Society for Human Resource Management, which she recently achieved. “The SHRM-CP certification is recognized as a national and global achievement in the HR profession,” said Marsha Morris, WTC business development coordinator. Crider regularly collaborates with WTC business development services and WTC-Weatherford for library branch personnel trainings, using WTC's computer lab.
