What is Stamped Social?Stampede Social is an Instagram platform for podcasters, and creators in general, which we, us podcasting, are. The key thing that it does is, on Instagram, it helps deliver your podcast episodes to your fans via automated direct message so you don't have to send them to link in bio.How Does it Work?If a listener uses a specific hashtag to you on Instagram they get a DM from you that says, “Thanks for using (hashtag). Here's a link to the episode. So they comment on the post, and then they automatically get a DM from you with a link to that episode. The link the listener gets sent is a unique link sent to you, so I know WHO requested this link. And I know if they clicked on it, I know why they requested it, and which post you requested it from. I know how many times they clicked on it, and then over time, if you extrapolate that over a year, I know how many times overall they've requested content or commented on my post. So Stampede Social helps you understand who your top fans are.Click Here to see a demo JOIN the School of Podcasting and save using this special link www.schoolofpodcasitng.com/listener and get access toStep by Step tutorialsA Phenomenal Private Podcasting CommunityUNLIMITED one-on-one coaching with Dave Jackson (2018 Podcaster Hall of Fame Inductee)Support the showThis episode is brought to you by the School of Podcasting. You have a guest show up who is in a room made of glass using a blue yeti microphone setup to pick up in every direction. You either tell the person to come back when they understand this is a podcast and not a zoom meeting or you bite the bullet and light your time on fire spending the next half a day trying to clean up their file. I have a client who records in almost that situation. I've told them to get close to the microphone, etc. So I found the solution. It's called DeVerberate 3 from Acon Digital. You can hear the before and after in this episode. You can order it through my favorite retailer Sweetwater. It's an audio plugin and works with Audacity, Hindenburg and all the other popular software titles. No coding is required.Their website has all sorts of resources to help you intelligently design great-looking merch and insights into marketing. One way to know what your audience wants is to create a community. While there are free tools like Facebook, you don't own your community in Facebook. I once was banned from my own Facebook groups for letting them know group coaching was starting in 5 minutes. It took WEEKS to regain access (Facebook is now known for their awesome customer service). When I discovered Heartbeat I was really impressed. I have spoken about Circle in the past, and this was like Circle only less Expensive. You can have a community with threads and charts. I tied my heartbeat into Zoom for group coaching so people can see the schedule and join right from within the app. There is a water cooler where people can connect via audio to chat. You can have the system match up your members for further networking. You can create a library of resources. You can have free parts of your community or charge for access. It really does everything. You can sell tickets to events. You can even have it suggest topics for events. The course tool is robust and easy to you. Pricing starts at $49 a month, but here is one thing that makes them stand out: there are zero processing fees. There are stipe fees, but other platforms take a percentage in addition to the credit card processing. One last point is it integrates with Zapier so if you want to connect your members to email lists, and more, its a few simple clicks. One of the toughest parts of creating content is doing it on a regular basis. Today's tool is called Syllaby. You can use it like an SEO tool and type in the topic for your show and it will show you what people are searching for around this topic. When you click on that topic, you can then choose to have it write a script for you. This can be a short script or an entire article. Their goal is to help you make video, but you could use this for audio. If you hate being on camera, you can choose an AI voice and an AI-generated avatar. Between you and me, I'm not letting a Sims character cira 2007 represent my brand, but I could see people potentially using this. As you might imagine, it's optional. It starts at $49/month and gets cheaper if you use a yearly plan. One of your fears when you start podcasting is, what if you change your mind? What do I do with my gear? I recently cleared out a closet and found tons of stuff I had bought over the years that were sitting there depreciating, so I have decided to list it on Sweetwater.com's used gear section called "Gear Exchange."In the same way that eBay charges a fee, so does Sweetwater. From their website, "Gear Exchange transactions have a 2.5% transaction fee and a 5% seller fee. When you choose a Sweetwater Gift Card as your payout, we will waive both fees! That means more funds available for you to use on purchases at Sweetwater.com.If you choose Hyperwallet as your payout, then the total seller fees are 7.5%.Of course, they offer a "No hassle" return policy. From their website:"No Hassle" Return Policy:We want you to be completely happy with your purchase. If you are not satisfied with any new product, for any reason, you may return it for a refund of the purchase price or an in-house credit, or you may exchange for another product within a fair amount of time from the shipping date (usually 30 days). If your purchase was eligible for free shipping, the shipping cost will be deducted from your credit or refund. There are also places like eBay, Facebook Marketplace to sell your gear (and let's not forget, for those getting started, a great place to BUY used gear). If you're happy with the way you sound, move on. You've been podcasting for a while, and you notice that all those files are starting to chew up your hard drive (ESPECIALLY IF YOU'RE DOING VIDEO). So today, I have a free resource to start (and eventually, it will be almost free).Backblaze is a service I use to back up computers. I once had a hard drive crash, and they saved me. They also offer a cloud storage option. These are for files that you probably will not use but don't want to delete (I store old YouTube videos, podcast files, etc). The price is 0.005 per GBCurrently, my show Your Podcast Consultant has over 100 episodes, and EVERYTHING COMBINE is 23 GB, so I could store that show for 12 cents/month, and if I later wanted to download all those files, it would cost 23 cents. Their backup tool is also affordable at $5.83 per month if you buy a year's worth of hosting. It is a service I've never regretted. When my hard drive crashed, I thought I had lost 18 years of episodes. I would've been devastated. If you use this linkhttps://supportthisshow.com/backblaze I get a free month, and so do you.But wait, there is MORE!The first 10 GB are free.Your hard drive, thank you. AI Tools for Podcasters: Exploring Efficiency and AssistanceWelcome to another episode of Podcasting and Resources, the podcast that helps you discover the tools and resources to enhance your podcasting journey. In today's episode, we dive into the world of AI tools, particularly those aimed at assisting podcasters in various aspects of their workflow. A Quick Note About AIBefore we begin, it's important to clarify that AI tools like Chat GPT are powerful assistants but not substitutes for human creativity and expertise. They can take you 80% of the way, but ultimately, you'll need a human touch to deliver your best work.During my research, I stumbled upon an intriguing blog post about podcast networks that raised some eyebrows. The article mentioned a podcasting discoverability problem dating back to the 90s. Now, we all know podcasting wasn't around in the 90s, so it's crucial to fact-check sources and question inconsistencies. If you tell me four things and one of them is a lie, I'm not believing the other three.CastMagic First up is Cast Magic, offering a $39 per month plan for 200 minutes of usage. However, a lifetime deal for the same price is currently available on AppSumo. Cast Magic provides impressive services such as transcription, title generation, keyword suggestions, time-stamped overviews, discussion questions, and even clip finders. It also offers Magic Chat, allowing you to generate content based on your transcriptions.SwellAISwell AI, starts at $29 per month for five hours of usage. Swell AI generates show notes, transcripts, articles, summaries, and social media posts. It also includes a feature called Swell Chat, similar to Chat GPT, where you can ask questions and receive AI-generated responses. Swell AI supports over 100 languages, making it a valuable tool for translation purposes.PodSqueezePod Squeeze offers a free account for 50 minutes of podcasting each month, making it suitable for short-form shows. With the paid plan starting at $15 per month for 160 minutes, Pod Squeeze generates show notes, timestamps, newsletters, and more. The platform supports various languages, making it ideal for multilingual podcasters.Clean Voice - AI EditorClean Voice, based in the UK, utilizes AI to remove filler words, stutters, background noise, and mouth noises. It also offers podcast mixing and transcription services. Pricing starts at 10 euros (approximately $11) per month. In the last episode, we mentioned mailerlite is a powerful email list and more affordable than some competitors. But what if you want a free solution? For me, after using Mailerlite for a while, it dawned on my that I don't need all the marketing tools it provides. My newsletter is more for communicating with my audience. I started using Substack. The exciting part of Substack is on a normal week, I might have 3-5 new signups, and Substack seems to do a great job of cross-promotion. Your newsletter is also on a web-based version of it. You can turn a chat for your newsletter. The surprising thing was that I was playing with the premium tool. This enables you to sell access to premium posts in your newsletter. Without promoting it, I had someone sign up for a yearly account. In terms of using Substack as a marketing tool, their terms of service, "Substack is not an email marketing platform. We don't permit publications that are set up with the sole purpose of advertising an external product or service, distributing offers and promotions, or similar activity."So I think the key phrase that could get you in trouble is the phrase "Sole purpose" of advertising. It also has an app to read/listen to posts on your device. When I say listen, you can record and use substack as a free tool for a podcast. For me, I uploaded a version of my summarizing the newsletter topics for that episode. I've tried many different email lists from Sendfox to Aweber, Convertkit, and Mailer Lite. I used Mailerlite for a while about a year ago. It had one problem. It was slow. Fast forward and they've released a new version and not only is it fast but it has an AMAZING feature set. I was paying $50 for Convert and I'm paying $17 for Mailerlite. I can send broadcasts, make pop-ups, landing pages, and a ton more. When you use Mailer Lite they not only give you access to a great product, but their support is amazing along with a huge knowledgebase delivered in bite-size chunks (their YouTube channel has tons of great tutorials. You can set up your RSS feed to go to Mailerlit and when you publish an episode it turns it into an email and sends it to your subscribers. The benefit of email is you are no one click away from having your audience take action. If you work on your podcast with more than well yourself, they're going to be times when you want to comment on how the show was going, what needs to be edited. Whether this be with your co-host, or an editor, or both. The problem is there may be different time zones, and all sorts of different things that make it hard. Today, I've got a tool to make it super easy. Communication ToolWhen you are trying to communicate about an episode, specifically, in this case, you either are using a Google Doc, and you're like, hey, at the two-minute mark, somebody said this, or you're doing it in Slack, or whatever sort of Team tool that you have. I Use NOtetracks I use Notetracks at the School of podcasting, where my students can say, hey, I would like feedback on an episode. They uploaded there where basically they send me the link, I have them fill out a form. I upload it. And then I can go in. And let's say at the two-and-a-half minute mark, they asked a really good question, I can click there and say leave a comment. This was a really good question that led to a great story. People Can See Where the Feedback is Tied ToWhile the students can log in to NoteTracks, I can also export all of my notes with times stamps and they can listen to their episode anywhere and see the time stamps associated with an episode. Free TrialNotetracks does have a free trial. And basically what happens is, when you sign up, and their plans start at $9 a month, I'm on the $29 a month because it limits how many projects and a project would be a file. On-Air lights are either cheap and look bad, or made of wood, look great - but are super expensive.I found this affordable like that looks good and doesn't cost an arm in a leg. It is made out of plastic (so don't step on it), and it runs on batteries (which makes it easy to hang on a wall) or a usb cable (so you could plug a brick into it)I know a person who plugged it into a Smart plug so he could tell Alexa to turn it on and off. Its very simple search in podcast apps is not great. But search on a website is actually pretty good thanks to our good friends at Google. One of the things that can really make your podcast grow is by writing better headlines. And today, I've got a great tool that I just bought and couldn't wait to share with you. One of my top pet peeves is when I see somebody put the name of their show. And then they'll actually read out the words, Episode 16. So something like this: Podcasting resources Episode 34 And I cannot stress this enough that the title of your episode is like grandma's fine china, you just don't want to mess with it. It's really, really important and you should take some time to come up with a headline/title that is going to help you get foundI've used other headline resources, but this one not only helps me make better headlines that will catch people's attention, it TEACHES ME how to write better headlines. It's like having an SEO and Copywriting Coach all in one.It is so easy to use, and I'm finding my headlines weren't bad, but I can make them go from what would be a "C" grade to a B or A easily by just using a few analytical tools and tweaking some words and I'm ready to go.The pro plan helps you identify keywords that are high in traffic and low in competition. You can save and review past headlines, and so much more. Voiceform is on App Summo for a one-time lifetime fee of $69. This is an amazing tool that makes it super to make a traditional survey, but wait, now you can add your voice to the survey. Then your audience can reply with their voice. You can use this to get feedback on your show, but you could also get feedback on each episode. All the answers are organized together. You can even download all of the audio feed with one click. Here is what one reviewer said on the App Summo Site:1) Surveys with my target audience and ask them to talk about their problems/pains. Compared to a text question, the advantage is that you will get natural language. They will automatically use other words as they would write their answers down. These words are valuable marketing information because they are also the words they will use to search on Google or YouTube.2) Use a Voiceform to let a possible coachee or mentee 'apply' to be my customer before you waste your time on a potential customer outside your target audience or expertise. So it acts as an extra filter between you and your first complimentary video call with that prospect.3) By embedding a Voiceform in an online course, you now can let students give oral answers where they can elaborate and explain their view on a topic.4) If you have the time to listen to and grade all the answers, you could even use a Voiceform to take an oral exam on autopilot. FYI: the responses are recorded and can be downloaded, so if there's ever a complaint about the grade you gave, you have the original answer in possession.5) In an interactive learning video, at the end of a quiz or after walking through an interactive scenario, you can give the learner the possibility to quickly tell what they think of the lesson/course/quiz/exercise.6) Send an email (or Whatsapp or any other communication tool) before a course or program starts, with a link to a few questions about what they want to learn, what their experience is on the topic, etc. With the recordings, you can make a compilation and play that in the first session or put it in the online course environment. Thanks to David Hooper for pointing out this commentHere is a quick Product DemoCheck out this quick video of me playing around with it. Riverside.fm claims to be "The easiest way to record podcasts and videointerviews in studio quality from anywhere. All from your browser." Guests and producers join with one click. All from your Chrome browser on laptop or desktop. They also have an iOs app. They do have some interesting features. You can have up to 8 people on a session. It records the audio and video separately (in WAV for the audio and in 4K for the video) and uploads the recordings while you are recording (so you do fill up someone's hard drive). It also has tools to share previously uploaded video and audio, you can use their magic editing tool that according to their website, "Compose your video in 4 easy steps: Add your media, set your audio and video settings, customize your video, and export. It's that easy!"They also have an AI tool that will switch the audio in the video to anyone who is talking (similar to the old days of Google Hangouts RIP). I'm going to give this a shot on my Ask the Podcast Coach show. If this works well, I may cancel my streamyard subscription. Streamyard IS BETTER for streaming, but I have situations with shows like the Podcast Review Show where Separate audio and video would give me more flexibility. Their pricing starts at $9/month. The plan I will be using is $19/month.Check out this VideoSchool of Podcasting The ultimate resource for learning how to podcast the right way Create a great-looking website for your podcast with ZERO coding.Try it for free for 7 Days at www.trypodpage.comSchool of Podcasting The ultimate resource for learning how to podcast the right waySupport the show

My Podcast ReviewsI first talked about My Podcast Reviews back in episode 3. While this tool is amazing for getting all of your reviews in one place from ALL of the countries, it also has a tool to make it easy to share your podcast. For example, if you go to https://followthepodcast.com/sop that will take you to a screen where you can subscribe to the School of Podcasting show based on the apps on your device. Instead of trying to get people to subscribe/follow on a specific app, let them follow/subscribe to your show on whatever app they are already using. FREE QR Code Tool in Google ChromeI noticed in the address bar of Google chrome you now have the ability to make a QR code for whatever website you are currently looking at. So I put these two together. I put my smart link into Google Chrome and got a QR code for my smart link. Keep Your Branding With CanvaI added one more little bit of icing and put my logo over the default dinosaur in the graphic. I've seen QR codes on the back of a car using sticker from a business like Sticker Mule. Sitting behind them at a stoplight I wasn't sure it would work, but it did.Video of Me Demonstrating This techniqueClick to WatchSchool of Podcasting The ultimate resource for learning how to podcast the right way Create a great-looking website for your podcast with ZERO coding.Try it for free for 7 Days at www.trypodpage.comSupport the show
