Comedian Myq (Mike) Kaplan is The Faucet. Except instead of water like from a literal faucet, what comes out are words, thoughts, ideas, jokes, rhymes, philosophies, fun, and more, in a stream of consciousness. A stream. Like water. See? Like this.
The Faucet with Myq Kaplan podcast is an absolute gem in the comedy world. I first discovered Myq's dry and witty style years ago on KATG (Keith and The Girl), and ever since then, I've been hooked on his humor. When I had the opportunity to see him perform live in Portland, it was a night filled with laughter and pure comedic genius. Now, with The Faucet podcast, I have the pleasure of diving even deeper into Myq's brilliant mind, which has become a saving grace for my extreme insomnia.
One of the best aspects of The Faucet is Myq Kaplan himself. Not only is he incredibly talented and funny, but he also comes across as a genuinely kind and generous person. His unique voice shines through each episode as he takes listeners on hilarious journeys through his thoughts and observations. He has this incredible ability to look at situations from a completely different perspective, providing fresh insights that leave you laughing out loud and nodding in agreement.
Another great aspect of this podcast is its authenticity. It's not a polished collection of hand-picked jokes meant to elicit the best response; instead, it feels like being let into a private practice session with Myq. His machine-gun speed delivery of jokes keeps you on your toes, laughing so hard that you might miss some gems along the way. Fortunately, you can always hit rewind to catch all those missed punchlines. Whether listening to episodes live or going back through past recordings, there's always something new to enjoy.
While it's challenging to find any negatives about The Faucet with Myq Kaplan podcast, some may argue that his niche style might not be everyone's cup of tea. However, even if you're not typically drawn to dry comedy or philosophical musings disguised as humor, give this podcast a chance. Myq has an exceptional talent for bridging gaps between different aspects of reality and crafting well-crafted jokes that appeal to both smart and not-so-smart people alike.
In conclusion, The Faucet with Myq Kaplan is a podcast that has quickly become one of my favorites. Myq's brilliance and humor make every episode a joy to listen to, and his unique style of comedy sets him apart from the rest. It's an opportunity to delve into his weird and hilarious mind, providing constant entertainment that makes life worth living. Whether you're a longtime fan or new to Myq Kaplan's comedy, this podcast is a must-listen for anyone in search of laughter and intellectual stimulation.
