Guy Forsyth is a long time staple in the Austin music scene and a 9-time Austin Music Award winner. He is known for his blues and Americana musical storytelling and has opened and performed with such acts as Ray Charles, Robert Cray, Dr.John, B.B. King, Jimmie Vaughan and Lucinda Williams. If you’ve seen Guy perform (quite possibly at The Saxon Pub or Antone’s), you know he is an incredibly talented musician and performer, but his music was elevated to a whole new level when he joined forces with his lovely wife, Jeska, in 2018. Brett Ketchum is a Houston native and Austin transplant who has served our community as a professional firefighter for over 12 years. On his days off from the fire station, Brett runs a small business called Fireman Dryerman, teaches CPR and first aid classes, and spends time around Austin with his wife and two sons. Brett and I talked about what drove him to become a firefighter after graduating with a psychology degree from UT, the arduous application and training process all firefighters go through, and some lesser known tips for keeping your family safe from house fires.
