The Scriptures speak very explicitly of the importance of both inward and outward holiness. One issue specifically addressed is the wearing of items that reflect inner pride and immodesty. The “gold” in our lives should be found on the inside, that is, a spirit that is in alignment with God's Word and is truly Christ-like. 11/09/2023 - Thursday NightScriptures Used (In Order of Occurrence):I Peter 3:1-5I Corinthians 10:23I Timothy 2:8-10Genesis 35:4Exodus 32:20Exodus 33:4-6Exodus 35:22Numbers 31:50Deuteronomy 7:25-26Judges 8:24-27Ezekiel 16:11-17Isaiah 3:16-26Hosea 2:13Jeremiah 4:30Ezekiel 23:40I Timothy 2:8-10I Peter 3:3-5Psalm 149:4Supplemental Scriptures:Galatians 6:22-25I Corinthians 12:2, 14:1Ephesians 5:27I Thessalonians 4:1-4, 5:22I Timothy 2:9-10II Corinthians 6:17, 7:1Ephesians 5:21Philippians 2:3I Corinthians 8:9-13, 10:32Ephesians 2:10Titus 1:16James 2:17-18Ephesians 4:14-15Hebrews 6:1, 10:23-28James 2:14, 2:26, 4:8Job 42:11Genesis 24:53, 13:2Exodus 3:22, 11:2Genesis 35:1-4Exodus 32 & 33, 35:22Deuteronomy 17:17

You and I have seen so many types of relationships and the different ways men and women have shown love for each other. Some have been healthy relationships and marriages that worked, while there have been harmful ones where the man or woman felt that even though it was a hostile environment that they needed to stay; or did leave the relationship because of a bad situation. How do you view your relationship with God? Or do you have a full understanding of the relationship that God wants to have with you? Many people would view it as a hard discipling Father that wants to punish you when you mess up and sin. Others see Him as a passive Father that just created the universe and then just left it alone. Maybe you see it as to how your mother and father were to you or to each other? But, do you know that God wants to have a deep and intimate relationship with each and every person. When you think of intimacy, is it usually in that close personal relationship with your spouse in bed. The definition of intimacy is a close friendship, a deep knowledge of a subject, a private atmosphere, or closeness to someone or something. This can be stated in having an intimate knowledge of details about a person, place or event like sports statistics or movie quotes. Maybe it is being in a nice, quiet and romantic place or simply being close to someone such as holding, embracing or hugging someone. The word “Intimacy” itself isn't mentioned in the Bible, but God did show us how He wants to have an intimate relationship with Him.There are several examples of intimate friendships that weren't of a sexual nature in the Bible. There was the love that Jonathan and David had for each other as mentioned in 1 Samuel chapter 18. Then we see in the New Testament how John was called “The Beloved One” and we see him at the Last Supper with his head resting on the chest of Jesus. Both of these are examples of an intimate and caring friendship. But something with John stood out to me when it said he rested his head on the chest of Jesus. Think about your marriage or relationship and when your spouse is lying beside you and lays their head on your chest. At that moment their ear is next to your body and depending on which side, over your heart they can hear your heart beating. That is what God is wanting from each of us. He wants you and I to draw close to Him and hear what His heart is saying to each of us. That is the moment of intimacy that we can truly have with God.The word “Love” is mentioned the most times in the book of Psalms. Why is that?Maybe ,because David spent so much time with God in prayer while he was out in the fields watching the sheep that he had those intimate moments with God and even mentioned as “A man after God's own heart”How was that even when David stumbled and fell, made mistakes that God still called him that. It was because of those close personal times in prayer and worship. Dr. Cole said that “Prayer produces intimacy. You become intimate with the one for whom you pray, with whom you pray and to Whom you pray.”When we get in a place that you and I can focus and not allow the distractions of the world around us to interfere, then we can truly get into the presence of God and have those intimate times with Him. In Psalms, each time the word “Love” was mentioned it was preceded by the word “faithful” or “unfailing”. When you read about the greatest type of Love that is mentioned it is called “Agape”, which means unconditional love. And that is how God showed us His love. It is that unconditional, faithful and unfailing love that even when we fall, mess up or even walk away from Him, that He still loves you and me.Scripture:Matthew 11:28-30John 3:16,17Romans 5:81 John 4:16James 4:8"Love 2 Deep" by Velveteen available at www.epidemicsound.com

Let's listen in to see how we can obtain a peace that surpasses all understanding.Reference Scriptures:Philippians 4:72 Corinthians 9:15Isaiah 55:8-9Ephesians 3:19John 14:27Romans 8:281 Thessalonians 5:23Galatians 6:16James 4:8Psalm 24:3-4Romans 3:10, 23John 14:62 Corinthians 5:21Romans 4:5Romans 5:11 John 4:10Hebrews 10:222 Peter 1:2Ephesians 3:17-19Romans 8:38-39Psalm 33:11Proverbs 19:21Isaiah 46:9-11Psalm 10:12 Corinthians 12:7-9Matthew 6:34Luke 12:29Philippians 4:61 Peter 5;7Psalm 100:5; 115:11Isaiah 26:4James 1:17Malachi 3:6Psalm 46:1Psalm 62:8Psalm 91:1-2Thank you for supporting us by following and sharing our Podcast. Bible Reading: Matthew 5:13-16James pulled out his chair and sat down, a smile playing on the corners of his mouth. He waited patiently as his dad offered a prayer of thanks and the food was passed around. Then James spoke up. "Please pass the sodium chloride," he said as seriously as he could manage."Pass what?" Dad laughed. "I know what you're talking about, but why did you use that term?"James laughed too. "We had a lesson on salt today, and I thought I'd ask for it by another name.""If you were trying to impress us," said Mom, "you did. At least I'm impressed.""Salt's important," James informed them. "It's used for lots of things.""Well, I know it's important in cooking," said Mom. "Salt is used to flavor food and also to keep it from spoiling.""Did you know that sodium chloride is mentioned in the Bible?" asked Dad."Yeah, Dad, but not by that name," said James. "It's just called plain old salt."Dad chuckled. "I'm sure you know the verse that says Christians are the salt of the earth. They help flavor things that happen in our world. Unless..." He stopped and looked at James. "Do you know what would keep them from doing that?""UhI think the verse says they can lose their flavor, right?" James asked.Dad nodded. "Any ideas how that might happen?" "How Christians can lose their saltiness?" James shrugged. "I'm not sure." "Well, think of it this way," said Mom. "What does it mean when it says Christians flavor the earth?""WellI guess we do that by helping people and being kind and loving," said James. "And by telling them about Jesus.""Right," said Mom. "When we share the love, grace, and truth of Jesus, we bring flavor to a bland world. We give people a taste of the salvation and hope He offers them.""So, I guess we'd lose our saltiness if we stopped doing those things and only thought of ourselves, right?" asked James.Dad nodded. "As the sodium chloride of the earth, we need to flavor people's lives with the love of Jesus." He sprinkled some salt on his potatoes and took a bite. "Mmm," he said. "Now that's good!" (Richard S. Maffeo)How About You?Are you sharing the flavor of God's love with the world? Is it evident in the way you treat others? Do your actions show that you follow Jesus? Do you tell others about Him so they can know Him too? Jesus didn't say you could be like salt if you wanted to be. He said you are the salt of the earth. Make sure your life reflects His love so others can know how good He is.Today's Key Verse:You are the salt of the earth. (NKJV) (Matthew 5:13)Today's Key Thought:Be a salty Christian

I discuss how at a time when I was questioning my faith that a story for the Old Testament helped me overcome my fear and doubt. It was about Elijah and the widow woman and here lack of faith that I talk about in this episode.Scriptures referenced:Luke 6:38I King 17:1-16James 1:3Ephesians 3:20Quotes:From Winners Never Quit by Dr. Edwin Louis Cole Christians believe that God has the power to do anything. For those of us in the "first world", and specifically in the United States, even the poorest among us live a life of luxury as compared to most other people in most countries around the world. With prosperity comes comfort, with comfort comes pride, with pride comes destruction. Contrary to many "preachers" of today, prosperity isn't promised by God, and isn't always (and maybe is rarely) a blessing. At the time of the Prophet Amos, the kingdom of Israel was split into two. The northern kingdom enjoyed wealth and prosperity, while Amos and the southern kingdom in general did not. Unfortunately the northern kingdom had become prideful, and sinful in their prosperity. Amos was one messenger from God, sent with a message. What about us? Surely we would never follow the same path that Amos was sent to speak against. Join Pastor Jason as he speaks to who we are in a life of prosperity. Do we take credit for our wealth, power, and status, or do we recognize that God is the owner of all, and all we have are blessings that have been mercifully granted to us by God? Rev.
