Mary joins Caitlin to talk about horror movies that deserve a second chance. These movies aren't necessarily "underrated" (because that means different things to different people, especially depending upon familiarity with the genre), but they're movies that got written off too soon. They deserve a second look; at least we think they do. Let us know if there are any you'd add to the list.
We're back, and we're sharkier than ever!Sarah returns to tell us about the follow up to her last movie, 47 Meters Down: Uncaged. This sequel finds a group of young women breaking the rules to explore an underground sea cave, who then find themselves face to face with near-blind subterranean monsters. The result is lots of interpersonal drama and dire consequences. If you think that sounds a lot like the plot of The Descent, we thought so too! Having nothing to do with the first 47 Meters Down (other than sharks and scuba diving), this movie seems to have just "borrowed" the plot of The Descent and made it a bit... wetter.Join us as we discuss the thrills of archaeology, if sharks are attracted to music, and ask the most important question: can fish scream!?And as always... don't get too scared!
For the season finale of their shark films season, Sarah and MJ are joined by Rob Daniel of the movie Robcast to talk about Johannes Roberts' 47 Meters Down. They talk about effective jump scares, real time thrillers, the ways in which Mandy Moore's fans are willing to watch her perish on screen, and of course, devolve into puns.
Two friends + vacation in Mexico + lots of liquor = SHARK ATTACK!!Welcome to the New Year, Fearless Fans! We are kicking things off with a good old fashioned shark attack movie! This week, Sarah presents to us the 2017 film, 47 Meters Down! This undersea thriller stars Mandy Moore and Claire Holt as two sisters on holiday, trying to absorb some sun and some positive energy. When they spontaneously sign up for a shark diving expedition, things immediately go wrong when the line snaps and their protective cage plummets to the ocean floor. With a limited supply of oxygen and hungry sharks circling, the two women must find a way to escape, or find themselves trapped forever. We talk about the realism of this diving disaster, our appreciation for Mandy Moore's acting career, and our many critiques of the various posters and DVD cover art for this film.So strap on your O2, secure your flippers, and remember: don't get too scared!

Johannes Roberts came to the horror world's eyes with his breakout hit "The Expelled," (or "F" depending on when you saw it). Throughout his life, he has always been a big fan of horror and fantasy. In his teens, Roberts saw "Platoon" for the first time and it blew his mind and made him want to start making movies. Over the years he has crafted some solid pieces of films that will make you think twice about going into the ocean (if "Jaws" hasn't scared the sand out of you yet). When you finish the pod, please check out his flicks at Videodrome in Atlanta!

On this week's episode, the Ghouls (minus Will) review and recap 47 METERS DOWN: UNCAGED. Everyone wonders why there wasn't a single Latinx person in a movie located in Mexico, if fish can actually scream, and Ashley and Alexz reveal their aversion to nature based activities. Jeanette takes the sharks' side and wants to fight one of the characters, Alexz thought John Corbett acted the shit of out the five minutes he was in the movie, and Ashley wasn't expecting to be affected by the movie's claustrophobic nature. Before the recap, Alexz started watching G.L.O.W. and reading LOVECRAFT COUNTRY, and skewers the original 47 METERS DOWN movie. Jeanette finished COBRA KAI, shouts out her filmmaker friend @alexanderthetitan, and is rereading THE SHINING. Ashley binged most of the second season of MINDHUNTER and gives some quick thoughts on SCARY STORIES TO TELL IN THE DARK. Last but not least, Alexz and Ashley review the season 3 finale of THE HANDMAID'S TALE, and Alexz was introduced to 90s classic TO WONG FOO, THANKS FOR EVERYTHING! JULIE NEWMAR.
