This is the complete sixth book of the Tarzan Series, Book 6, Jungle Tales of Tarzan by Edgar Rice Burroughs. This is a LibriVox public domain recording. Jungle Tales of Tarzan is a collection of twelve loosely-connected short stories written by Edgar Rice Burroughs, comprising the sixth book in order of publication in his series about the title character Tarzan. Chronologically, the events recounted in it actually occur between chapters 12 and 13 of the first Tarzan novel, Tarzan of the Apes. (Summary from Wikipedia) How did the helpless child of the shipwrecked couple John and Alice Clayton become the superhuman legend that is Tarzan of the Apes, Lord of the Jungle? The twelve archetypal coming-of-age tales that compose this book tell the full story, finding their place alongside the richest and most meaningful allegories of mythology. Tarzan grows to adulthood among the apes of the jungle, facing the dawning realization that he is not like them—he is a man. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/colin-holbrook/support
Welcome to #Millennial, the home of pretend adulting and real talk! We are joined this week by Christine Riccio and Natasha Polis from Those Forking Fangirls to discuss the significant uptick in interest (and sales) of literary romance and YA novels. Today's conversation was inspired by this NPR article:From meet-cutes to happy endings, romance readers feel the love as sales heat up. Christine and Natasha help us dig in on the pipeline from Young Adult to Romance, how the genres somewhat overlap, and how the culture has shifted to make open enjoyment of the Romance genre more socially accepted. Might some of the shifts in cover art portrayals have made the genre more comfortable and accessible to readers? Are there any cases where the cute, cartoony covers fail to communicate the spicy, smutty passages between the covers? Fan Fiction seems to have played a major role in these developments, with more people participating in online fan spaces to create new content. There are even recent examples of very successful fan fic authors going on to become published, like Christina Lauren, EL James, Alice Clayton, and Ali Hazelwood. Is there any direct correlation between the rise in interest for romance novels as a genre and the uptick in romance-based reality TV shows? What sort of escapism do they provide? What recommendations do Christine and Natasha have for current romance readers, or those hoping to get started? "From Blood and Ash" by Jennifer L Aremntrout, "Spoiler Alert" by Olivia Dade, "A Court of Silver Flames" by Sarah J Maas, "Part of Your World" by Abby Jimenez, "Verity" by Colleen Hoover, "Anna & the French Kiss" by Stephanie Perkins, "The Soulmate Equation" by Christina Lauren, "The Hating Game" by Sally Thorne, "A Court of Thorns and Roses" by Sarah J. Maas. And of COURSE - "Twilight" by Stephenie Meyer. This week's recommendations are all over the map: Andrew's shameless plug to use his Visible by Verizon referral code to get $20 off your first month, "Sons of the Forest" (Laura), 'Daisy Jones & The Six' on Prime Video (Pam), "Ninth House" (Christine), and "Sanditon" on Masterpiece airing 3/19/23 (Natasha). And in this week's installment of After Dark, available on Patreon: Last week we revealed all the bad things we did as kids and teens, but this week we're revealing the much more scandalous escapades our parents thought we were into. Weed orgies, illicit drug use on a church playground, underage sex, and all sorts of really interesting things none of us were actually cool enough to be doing.
Join us as we discuss Hi-there's and Hoohahs, and find out why Em's husband ruined this book for Loz…
Mary Grahame & Rodi join Jeff to, once again, discuss the romance genre. We talk about the Flea Bag-ification of Jane Austen adaptations; the Failure to Launchization of animated book covers, the lost art of the Rom Com, a few of our particular favorite romance novelists, and we especially discuss Bridgerton. [Content warning for Bridgerton Season 1, from 22:45-23:15 & 27:30-28:00] Authors discussed include: Kimberly Lemming, KJ Charles, Alice Clayton, Sophie Irwin, and of course, Beverly Jenkins.

Don't let the title fool you, this book was pretty PG as far as romance novels go! Join us as we discuss inner monologues and how referring to your sex as Lower Caroline (or lower anything) is a total buzzkill. We laugh about the types of sounds people make during sex, and just when you think the two main characters are about to get it on, they don't. This book should have been titled, "Sex and Other Disappointments". If you're looking for plot, this is not the book for you. But if you want to try anyways, 15:05 is a good place to start. The first of their published books came from Christina's fic "The Office," and was published as Beautiful Bastard. Jen's favorite scene is not in that video, her search continues.)The Twilight fandom was vast, as we discussed in this episode. And there are important reasons why many folks are drawn to fandom. Last summer, Alexis Daria and Adriana Herrera talked about fanfiction and fandom on Instagram Live, and it's a great watch.Christina and Lauren mentioned “canon” and “AU” and AO3 and livejournal and fandom bootcamp and maybe you want a primer on some fanfic terms.Maybe you also need a primer on a cinnamon roll character. These hugely popular romance writers came up through fanfic: Sally Thorne, Alice Clayton, Nina Bocci, Tara Sue Me, Amanda Weaver, Rebekah Weatherspoon, Helena Hunting, Daisy Prescott, EL James, and Ruth Clampett. Present-tense, stream of consciousness flow, and intense character work are some of the hallmarks of fandom writing, and some of those stylistic choices have influenced mainstream fiction in multiple genres, including romance.Did you miss the community experience of The Submissive? Over the years, I have seen so much speculation, theorizing, and questions surrounding the identity of Tarzan’s parents, and that’s why today I am going to explain who they truly were, here they were traveling to, and how the legend of their death has changed. To begin to understand who this man and woman were, we first need to look back at Tarzan’s earliest adventures that were originally written by Edgar Rice Burroughs. Specifically we must go back to the beginning of this twenty four novel saga which was titled Tarzan of the Apes. And it is here we learn almost everything we know about Tarzan’s parents who were revealed to be named John and Alice Clayton also known as Lord and Lady Greystoke of England. __Join our exclusive family of fun people, become a producer, and help support the show!http://patreon.com/wotsovideos __Shop Following Dreams shirts, hoodies, stickers, and more -http://wotsostore.com __Ask questions, send comments and business inquiries -wotsovideos@gmail.com __Watch all of the magical Disney film content I make on YouTube - http://youtube.com/wotsovideos ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Follow me on InstagramFollow me on TwitterLike me on Facebook@WotsoVideos

It’s Smutt Club time! This week we give our review of the January book of the Month: Wallbanger by Alice Clayton. End result: it’s definitely adorable and funny and worth a read but low on the actual Smutt factor. Doesn’t anyone pre-read this shit? Absolutely not. A conversation with Alice Clayton, the New York Times and USA TODAY bestselling author of the recent Buns (pub June 2017). Alice's trademark is comedic erotica, or funny smut. She worked in the cosmetics industry for over a decade before picking up a pen (read: laptop). She enjoys gardening but not weeding, baking but not cleaning up, and finally convinced her long-time boyfriend to marry her. And she finally got her Bernese Mountain Dog.

Voisiko apinaheimo ottaa ihmisvauvan kasvatettavakseen? Voisiko apinana kasvatettu lapsi oppia lukemaan kuvakirjoista itsekseen? Onko apinoilla voitonhuutoa? Tätä on kysyttävä monien alojen asiantuntijalta, professori Anto Leikolalta. Pasi Heikura aristoteles@yle.fi
The ladies as they chat about drinking and eating their way through the setting of Alice Clayton and Nina Bocci's newest novel
This is a pre-recorded interview with the authors of Roman Crazy - Alice Clayton and Nina Bocci. Roman Crazy is due out on September 13, 2016. Guests: Vanessa @LatersBabyUk Alice @Alice_Clayton AliceClayton.com Nina @Ninabocci NinaBocci.com About Roman Crazy: A delicious, sexy, laugh-out-loud modern romance about a newly single woman and her journey to find love again, from New York Times bestselling author Alice Clayton and debut author Nina Bocci. Avery Bardot steps off the plane in Rome, looking for a fresh start. She’s left behind a soon-to-be ex-husband in Boston and plans to spend the summer with her best friend Daisy, licking her wounds—and perhaps a gelato or two. But when her American-expat friend throws her a welcome party on her first night, Avery’s thrown for a loop when she sees a man she never thought she’d see again: Italian architect Marcello Bianchi. Marcello was the man—the one who got away. And now her past is colliding with her present, a present where she should be mourning the loss of her marriage and—hey, that fettuccine is delicious! And so is Marcello… Slipping easily into the good life of summertime in Rome, Avery spends her days exploring a city that makes art historians swoon, and her nights swooning over her unexpected what was old is new again romance. It’s heady, it’s fevered, it’s wanton, and it’s crazy. But could this really be her new life? Or is it just a temporary reprieve before returning to the land of twin-set cardigans and crustless sandwiches? A celebration of great friendship, passionate romance, and wonderful food, Roman Crazy is a lighthearted story of second chances and living life to the fullest.
