Chanti: don't remember squat except climax fight in the mud but the movie sucked. Not a Raviteja film at all. Siobhan director, Charmi heroine, and Atul Kulkarni villain  Dongula Mutha: Created huge back then because This film is the first of its kind in Indian cinema as it was shot with just 7 crew members and in a record of 5 days. Prior to filming, Varma announced that this film has no budget and that the cast and crew will not be taking remunerations until the film hits theaters. Puri Jagannadh is co-director while director Harish Shankar (Mirapakaya fame) is associate director.[2] Music is composed by Sathyam while the background score has been rendered by Amar Mohile (of Sarkar Raj fame).  Veera: rod ka baap, Baasha template with Raviteja, basically he lives with his sister and bava in a village and villain are trying to kill him, Taps overreaction and exposing and then Kajal is Raviteja wife in flashback and she dies pretty sure. Sridevi of Eeswar fame is Raviteja sister but its so badly directed by Ramesh Varma and so outdated routine, and cringe. Rod max movie.  Nippu: Saw it in theaters nothing better to do, Sreeram gets sentenced to jail for killing his wife in UAE and Raviteja tries to help his friend. Gunashekar mark rod with YVS mark paithyam all over it. Thaman music Nena oh Nenaa and Oh Pilla are decent, Deeksha Seth is also a waste. Useless.   Sarocharu: Stupidest movie. Listened to the songs a lot before release Jaga Jagadeka Veera is underrated song. Raviteja meets Kamal and explains to her his previous love story divorce with Richa then it turns out to be actually his friend and his wife story. Then why the f*** did you even say the story this entire time dude?????? Parasuram mark rod. DSP music only saving grace.   Kick 2: Destined to fail because Ileana is not in the movie and not a direct sequel to Kick, worst story, and it was postponed a 100 times. Supposed to come in May, then got delayed to late August. Ravitejas son goes looking for Kick and then goes to some remote village being terrorized by Ravi Kishan with North Indians there and Rahul is somehow a village girl. Insult to the first movie.   Raja the Great: Raviteja took a break after Bengal tiger and didnt do a film for almost 2 years then signed a film with Anil Ravipudi. With a lot of hype, it released in October 2017 and I felt its a rod. Ravipudi mark cringe comedy with Gunna Gunna Mamidi bit being peaks of cringe. Made me start questioning where Telugu comedy is headed then I accepted it's dead. Blind guy is basically superman and then his mom gets kidnapped and hearing the bells on a train he rescues her on a moving train. Zero logic, and cringe movie. Only darkness fight was funny.  Touch Chesi Choodu: outdated movie, some old City action movie but you can tell its badly directed. Directed by Vikram Sirikonda, KIKK Mirapakay, Race Gurram screenwriter, story by Vakkantham Vamsi, came in off-season Feb 2018. Music by JAM8 apprentice band of Pritam, Manasa song is classic  Amar Akbar Anthony: biggest robbery and insult to NYPD, first of all after Aagadu, Bruce Lee and Mister, Sreenu Vaitla kept saying he's changed. He went to J Lo's old house in NY and then Ileana comeback after 6 years in Devudu Chesina Manushulu. Entire movie filmed in NYC and routine revenge drama. Raviteja plays 3 roles with Aparichitudu split personality disorder then Ileana also has the same disease. Sunil is there and a host of comedians but its torture. Only Satya as KA Paul was funny with a KA Paul spoof and WATA thing.  Khiladi: 2nd combo of Raviteja and Ramesh Varma after Veera, Raviteja actually stayed away from promotions and could see his disappointment with director and output throughout. Movie is so stupid and has a twist every 2 seconds. Dhamaka: It's not Raviteja range movie and its cringe max. Put aside the reviews Movie is very boring without any excitement or entertainment Doesn't deserve to be a hit. Disappointing stuff.

Kader Khan was an extraordinary writer and actor. He was also one of the primary architects of, what I like to call, the Bachchan aura. He was instrumental in the careers of two other big stars as well - Jeetendra and Govinda. Sukanya Verma, film critic, quiz-maker, and a true blue Hindi film buff, joins us as we look back on Kader Khan's legacy. We talked about Kader Khan's difficult childhood, his course down the path of theatre, his early days in films, and his role in the towering career of Amitabh Bachchan. We also covered Khan's mastery over language, which was instrumental in being able to write outstanding dialogue for filmmakers with contrasting styles, like Manmohan Desai and Prakash Mehra - makers of some of Bachchan's biggest films.Sukanya also touched on her favorite Kader Khan performances, Khan's subconscious imprint on the comedy of actors like Pankaj Tripathi, and why she is a big fan of Patal Bhairavi (1985) and Taqdeerwala (1995).Finally, I shared some cool trivia (sent in by a listener) about a dark film that Kader Khan had planned on writing and directing, with Amitabh Bachchan in the lead. This month, it will be two years since we lost Kader Khan. Join us, as we pay a small tribute, in our own way, to, as Sukanya likes to call him, "my favorite Khan." Amar Akbar Anthony is a film like no other. When you see it you cannot forget it. Filled with music, comedy, drama, and love it captures audiences in multiple ways. But what can we learn from a deeper look at this classic of Hindi cinema? William Elison, Assistant Professor at University of California, Santa Barbara, Christian Lee Novetzke, Professor at the University of Washington, and Andy Rotman, Professor at Smith College offer a layered analysis of the 1977 blockbuster in Amar Akbar Anthony: Bollywood, Brotherhood, and the Nation (Harvard University Press, 2016). The authors examine the film through each of the narratives three brothers, as well as their mother. All four perspectives offer a new vision of modern India. Through their investigation they explore questions of religion and secularism, Indian nationalism, cinematic genres and Bollywood, politics, urban architectural space, and gender. They also examine the film as a powerful allegory of the nation, where differing religious identities, specifically Hindu, Muslim, and Christian, can produce a generative social harmony. Overall, the authors provide a rich portrait of this amazing film and a useful model for the interdisciplinary analysis of cinema. Kristian Petersen is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Religious Studies at the University of Nebraska Omaha. His research and teaching interests include Theory and Methodology in the Study of Religion, Islamic Studies, Chinese Religions, Human Rights, and Media Studies. As I mentioned in the show last week, I've been doing a stack of interviews recently, and as two of them were from actors in the same movie, I though the Geektowners might like an extra show this week (the normal Geektown Radio will be out on Tuesday as usual). :) Britain has been crying out for a film that truly reflects the society we live in; just when many have become disillusioned with the lack diversity in film, along comes the British Comedy Amar Akbar and Tony. Rez Kempton (Amar) and Martin Delaney (Tony) play two Londoners who come from different communities and join together in friendship sharing life’s ups and down along the way. A Sikh, a Muslim and an Irish Catholic take stock of their lives in contemporary London in Atul Malhotra’s coming of age romantic comedy. The film explores the... See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
