We worked over nine months for Ready. It is essentially a love story with the backdrop of college, urban and rural family, road journey and forest. The story takes place in a span of 3 months. This film flashes through action, entertainment and romance and has the stamina to impress the universal audience. Dhee and Dubai Seenu films are more like action entertainers. I wanted to do a love story like Anandam with a DDLJ kind of good family values. I loved the subject when writer Gopi Mohan narrated me the first half of the film. I told him that most of my films were suffering with not-so-good second half syndrome. I told that him that we would not start the project unless the second half is properly worked on. Then he brought a new perspective to the second half and it was exciting. Kona Venkat and Gopi Mohan suggested that I should do this script with a big hero. Dubai Seenu was such a combination proposal king of a film which was done in a hurry. I wanted an apt actor for this subject instead of a big hero. And I had Ram in my mind. I suggested his name to them. At that same time, Sravanthi Ravi Kishore offered to produce a film with me. I told Sravanthi Ravi Kishore that our kind of filmmaking would come with a contrast and that I wanted the film to be done in my way and with my team. He gladly accepted. He also gave us complete freedom. I could convert the script into a celluloid bonanza. The runtime came out to be 2 hours and 45 minutes. We shot the film for 115 working days. Incidentally, Ready is the film that took most number of working days of all my films. It is due to the huge casting involving various character artists and comedians. Genelia's energy is endless. Actually, YVS Chowdary wanted to bring Genelia as my heroine in Devadas. Even for Jagadam, we tried. On both occasions, we didn't get her. Coming to ready, we didn't think of any other alternative. We were completely focused on Genelia, only Genelia. She is the most professional actress I have ever seen, both as an actor and part of the production. Her interest in flawless modulation is amazing. Unlike other heroines who just do it away with lip sink, she takes extra care for perfection - Ram

Miért nem csókolóznak a bollywoodi filmekben? Milyen egy jó indiai katona? Mi köze a briteknek Bollywoodhoz? Daphne Chen always held a special place in her heart for the Taiwanese girl group S.H.E. Growing up in Ohio, she'd listen to their greatest hits before falling asleep, clinging to their pop songs as one of her only genuine links to the island and the culture her family had left far behind. So years later, when Daphne realized that those greatest hits were actually covers of American pop songs by Destiny's Child and the Legally Blonde soundtrack, she suddenly had a lot of questions... not just about S.H.E., but about why idolizing a Taiwanese girl group was so important to young Daphne in the first place. In this episode, we're sharing three conversations about the need to see and hear ourselves in popular culture — and the limitations of what pop culture can do to meet those needs. After Cathy chats with Daphne about their Asian teen idols in music, our intern Alex Chun calls up his favorite OnlyFans star, Cody Seiya, to unpack how watching queer porn has played such an outsized role in their own understanding of intimacy. Then, producer Harsha Nahata meets with two Indian diaspora culture writers to compare how — even with their differing upbringings and vastly different relationships to Bollywood movies — they began to question the role and the power of the Bollywood industry. Originally recorded for the South Asian Film Festival of America by Product of Culture, in this episode Shabnum & Rajiv take a magnifying glass to Bollywood films throughout time. With an almost academic fervor, they explore the relationship between the Hindi film industry and the Indian government while applying that lens to the tropes we've seen in Bollywood through the 70's - 2010s. They'll talk through the way India's relationship with the USSR impacted the type of Bollywood hero we saw in the 70s-80s, the way high rates of unemployment at the time landed us with iconic characters such as the ones in Sholay, and the role of globalization going into the 90s impacting much of what we saw in films like DDLJ. They'll also talk through the way body perceptions have changed across time, and when we started seeing the objectification of the male body just as much as the female body in the late 2010's. It's similar to DDLJ with some pacing issues but manages to succeed thanks to the chemistry between the leads. Wake Up Heavy's Mark Begley and The Projection Booth's Mike White joins Chris to talk about the film, the leads, and it's comparisons to DDLJ. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/teacherparv/message

In this episode of BJPod, we begin with how #JusticeforSSR became #JusticeforKangana. We quickly move on to talking of oversimplification in Indian movies and pick out characters from three movies -- Pardes, Naayak and RDB. On the scale of Barjatiya to Johar, where does the Ghai-verse lie? Is Bauji in Pardes an upgrade of the DDLJ bauji? We then talk of how the worldview of protagonists in films like Nayak fails to account for systemic evils other than financial corruption. Is Anil Kapoor in Nayak Kejru? In the final lap of the episode, we discuss how even an exceptional cinematic experience like RDB also treats these issues on a very superficial scale.

During a recent media interaction, Gauri Khan left a hint about making a sequel of iconic film DDLJ. This came after Donald Trump appreciated DDLJ on his visit to India.
Former Tezpur MP from BJP Ram Prasad Sarmah has joined the Congress on February 24. Congress general secretary KC Venugopal welcomed him to the party. In Delhi, he was accompanied by former CM of Assam Tarun Gogoi. Last year in March, Sarmah has given his resignation from the party after State Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma's name was forwarded to the central leadership to contest the election from Tezpur Constituency. Foundation stones were laid for several schemes in the last one week to preserve the biodiversity and beautify the Urpad Beel near Agia in Lower Assam's Goalpara district. On Monday, Assam Soil Conservation and Social Welfare Minister Pramila Rani Brahma laid the foundation stone of a project worth Rs 1 crore under the SOPD scheme. The Edupur Society, a frontier NGO of Tezpur organized a hands-on baking workshop for homemakers and students in the conference hall of the Edupur office to encourage women empowerment by learning a skill through which they can earn from home. Attending the program, secretary of Edupur Society, Amit Rajkonwar said, “In today's society women also want to contribute in their family and as well as aspire to be independent. “Draw the election symbol of Bharatiya Janata Party” and “Examine any four negative traits of Nehru's approach to Nation Building” are questions that feature in the political science paper for Class 12 students in Manipur. The Council Of Higher Secondary Education Manipur (COHSEM) has been criticized for such questions. “The questions are a part of an attempt to instil a certain mindset among students,” said Congress spokesperson Kh Joykishan, according to reports whereas Manipur education council chairman L Mahendra Singh has said, “Neither of the questions was out of syllabus.” The BJP party in Manipur also says that the questions are “relevant.” To deal with the rising number of dead, Chaltlang neighbourhood of Aizawl has come up with five storied concrete cemetery which will house at least 163 artificial or ready made graves. The cemetery will help to alleviate the rising graveyard crisis caused by increasing population as a result of migration happening from rural areas. Like his predecessor Obama, this US President, too, mentioned DDLJ in his speech. Trump, too, referred to this movie in his speech at Gujarat's Motera stadium. He mentioned Sholay and cricketers Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli.“This is the country that produces nearly 2,000 movies a year from the hub of genius and creativity known as Bollywood,” he added. Ahead of his India visit, US President Donald Trump had also retweeted a video of him where he is shown as “Bahubali.” India's first coronavirus patient, a 24-year-old girl who was discharged from hospital pose recovery thanked the hospital staff for their support. The girl contracted coronavirus after returning from Wuhan, was discharged from Thrissur Medical College Hopsital a few days ago. The patient has successfully managed to battle the condition which has left many people dead and infected in China. After actress Sonam Kapoor, filmmaker Shekhar Kapur, has expressed his disappointment over the news of a remake of Mr. India by director Ali Abbas Zafar. Shekhar took to social media to express his disapproval.
'Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan' makes many smart moves and most pay off. The addition of Ayushmann Khurana and Jitendra Kumar and the “normal” way their “love” is shown. It begins at a point where it almost seems like the two confide in us that they can’t stay without each other. There is just as much explanation provided for this attraction as there would have been if say Ayushmann and Bhumi Pednekar were paired opposite each other (The latter makes a small cameo appearance in the film). But that how it is, na? They are in love. In fact, it’s deliciously entertaining how the DDLJ tropes are used to legitimise their actions. Host: Stutee Ghosh Music: Big Bang Fuzz
Joginder Singh become a fan of Yashraj after watching DDLJ film, he goes to Yashraj house and meets Simran and they both fell in love with each other. Tune into this episode to know more
The final episode of our three-part series exploring Hindi cinema's transition to Bollywood. In the first two episodes we looked at how India transitioned from a post-colonial country in the late fourties & early fifties, to a tumultuous era of political oppression in the seventies. With today’s episode we are finally examining how the liberalization of Indian economy in the nineties, coincided with the release of films such as Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Pardes, Hum Aapke Hain Kaun, and how the Non Resident Indian (NRI) market became a key demographic for those films.Released: September 6, 2019Intro & Outro music: Sourced from royalty-free sites.
