Still reeling from the rollercoaster ride that was 2022 in the bond market? You're not alone. In this episode, we dissect the intricate world of bond mutual funds, breaking down why the rules of the stock market don't always apply. Expect to emerge from our conversation with a new perspective on how overpaying for bonds can feel like a tightrope walk over a pitfall of limited returns. We don't just skim the surface; we scrutinize the common traps investors fall into when they treat bond funds like their stock counterparts, and we arm you with the savvy to make choices that serve your portfolio, not strangle it.We dive into the murky waters of mutual fund fees, unveiling what they entail and the significance of aligning them with a fund manager's performance. This isn't just about numbers; it's about getting under the hood of bond mutual funds, understanding their contracts, and grasping how market flows can either buoy or batter your investments. We round off with a candid look at the limitations that mutual funds can impose on an investor's autonomy. Here's a sobering thought: market flows, and the behavior of other investors can hijack your mutual fund's performance, often leading to unintended consequences for your hard-earned money. We lay out the strategic crossroads faced by investors in today's volatile bond market, urging a thorough reassessment of whether bonds merit a place in your portfolio. Tune in and equip yourself with the insights needed to tread confidently in the bond market's shifting sands.______________________________________________________________Looking for additional content that can help you get the most from your life? How far would you go to save someone's life?
To be physically sick is really miserable. Especially when your sickness is a disease. But what is even worse is when our spirit is sick. It can make things really difficult
The quickest way for people to lose faith in us is when we break a promise. Think before we make a promise or say yes. It might be best to just say no.
Suffering times and trials shouldn't control us. We (w/ God) should control it. There is a power and a joy and a freedom when we can make this happen. God has a plan, and it is a powerful one. Be strong in your suffering.
If you have any amount of money....you should listen to this podcast.
One of the strongest parts of our being is our "Will". That at times can be good. But many times it is really destructive to ourselves....
For some crazy reason, some people love to destroy others w/ slander. It really runs rampant in our world today. We probably should talk about it.
I am currently married to a cis gender queer identified feminine woman. Tired of the inner fighting and turmoil in your heart, soul and mind. It just wears you out doesn't it?
The answer to how to tame the tongue. The answer is life changing to you and to everyone else you touch. tictalk
A seemingly hopeless situation. Taming the human tongue. The Bible says it is actually impossible. What do you think?
Bond, James Bond. Is there anything more to say? Join Scott & Jon as they explore the global masterpiece of James Bond.
What is the most powerful muscle in the body? Not only is it powerful but it is extremely hard to control. If you can control it, you can control everything else.
Finishing up from last week. None of us want to be fake. But sometimes when it comes to God we don't realize the difference between real faith and fake faith. We will talk about this in this podcast.
Do you know people who talk big but show little? We all can be like that with our faith. We say we are love God and we go to church and we are people of faith. But...our mouths, are actions, our thoughts don't back up our faith. Something to think about. Here today is a pretty strong challenge.
One area that we all struggle with at one level or another is showing partiality to people. We make quick judgements on people's financial, physical, sociatil, cultural standings and then treat them accordingly. The Bible says it is sin and we should not have part in it. It's not easy to show grace, mercy and love to everyone. But we can and must, w/ God's help.
Listening...One of the most difficult skills to master. Doing what we are supposed to be doing is also a skill to be mastered! Lots of real life challenges here for sure. You probably should put your steel toed shoes on. :)
The devil made me do it! It's not my fault. If my circumstances weren't so terrible...... We make lots of excuses for falling into temptation. But, whose fault is it?
I used to have the poor shoe in this pic! Ha! It wasn't that bad of shape though. Would you rather be poor or rich? They both have their temptations and they are both trials. You decide.
When things are tough and the going is rough it is hard to not doubt God. But He wants to help. He wants you to ask for it. But when you do, there is no doubting allowed. :)
When trials hit we want to run at times. Don't run, face it! Learn from it. Be patient. It will change your life for the better.
To serve is one of the greatest things you can do. It bring so much joy to you when you serve others and especially when you serve God.
A new series for all of us for the next 3 to 4 months. Everyday practical issues that we all deal w/ in ourselves, with others and w/ God. This is just an intro. Next week we will start the study and you will know why the title is what it is.

Also back along for the ride are Bond's “Scooby gang” including Jeffrey Wright, Ralph Fiennes, Naomie Harris, and Ben Wishaw…in addition to a new OO7 played by Lashana Lynch. As Daniel Craig's run as James Bond is about to come to an end with the release of "No Time To Die", we review this movie which is his most popular Bond film and among the most popular in the history of the franchise. It co-stars Oscar-winner Javier Bardem as Silva, a truly memorable villain who's out for revenge against Bond's boss, M played for the last time by Dame Judi Dench. The film kicks off with a slam-bang action sequence culminating with Bond being shot and falling into a giant waterfall...a truly hypnotic opening credits' sequence which follows with Adele's omnipresent title track playing over it, and then….it only gets better? In our ongoing Bond series, we revisit the OG Bond, Sir Sean Connery, in this second film in the franchise. We follow Bond this time in the midst of a Cold War espionage plot where he has to take on SPECTRE, the shadowy organization that is out to kill him along with possibly inciting World War III. This was PEAK Connery and very much a film of its time, very 1960's. It also co-stars Robert Shaw as the iconic villain Red Grant along with Lotte Lenya as the infamous Rose Klebb. In our ongoing series, "Living for the Bond"...we revisit the last Bond film starring Pierce Brosnan as 007 alongside Halle Berry, Rosamund Pike, Rick Yune, and Toby Stephens. This is one of the wilder episodes in the Bond saga as it starts off with our hero being kept prisoner by the North Korean government for more than a year before he is freed and attempts to uncover a plot to harness the power of the sun within a satellite by a young, thrill-seeking British tycoon which also involves conflict diamonds, lasers, and facial reconstruction. The movie was hugely successful, generally well-received, and…..now nobody will admit to liking it?? Let's see how it rates twenty years later…..Host: Geoff GershonProducer: Marlene Gershonhttps://livingforthecinema.com/#jamesbond #moviereviews #shakennotstirred #halleberry #007 #livingforthebond #piercebrosnan #madonna #rosamundpike
Our “Living for the Bond” Series continues with one of two films in the 007 franchise starring T-Dal himself….Timothy Dalton. It all centers on Bond taking revenge against a powerful drug lord played by Robert Davi, it's all very ‘80's, and guess what? It's actually quite good! We'll delve into what was jokingly dubbed “A Special Episode of Miami Vice featuring James Bond” and what made it work. It also stars Carey Lowell, Talisa Soto, a baby-faced young Benicio Del Toro, and….Wayne Newton?? ...Ok not everything worked...Host: Geoff GershonProducer: Marlene Gershonhttps://livingforthecinema.com/#livingforthecinema #moviereviews #jamesbond #007
