The Board of the Young Scientist & Technology Exhibition (YSTE) has announced that Stripe, the programmable financial services company with dual headquarters in Dublin and San Francisco, has been appointed as the new title sponsor of Ireland's most prestigious and well-loved STEM exhibition. Signing a 5-year agreement, Stripe assumes the role of title sponsor for YSTE from BT Ireland who, up until this year, was custodian, sponsor and organiser of the exhibition for the past twenty five years. Following a competitive selection process, Stripe secured the title sponsorship thanks to its shared passion with YSTE and commitment to promoting STEM education in Ireland - values exemplified by co-founder Patrick Collison, a former YSTE winner, and his brother John, who also won a category award at the exhibition. Stripe was also chosen for its clear vision for YSTE, its multi-year sponsorship commitment, and its ability to support the large volunteer force required for the delivery of an exhibition and event of this scale. Founded by Dr Tony Scott and Rev Dr Tom Burke in 1965, the exhibition is a staple in the academic, scientific and technological calendar every year, and attracts on average over 40,000 visitors, thus making it one of the biggest events of its kind both in Europe and worldwide. The winners of the Young Scientist and Technology Exhibition advance to participate in prestigious international events such as the European Union Contest for Young Scientists. Professor Pat Guiry, Chairperson of the Young Scientist & Technology Exhibition Board, said, "I would like to congratulate Stripe on their selection as the new title sponsor of the Young Scientist & Technology Exhibition. What really struck the Board was the level of commitment and passion Stripe displayed in wanting to honour the legacy and vision that Dr Tony Scott and Rev Dr Tom Burke created more than sixty years ago." "Collaborating with BT Ireland has been a true privilege for our Board and their dedication in shaping the exhibition into what it is today has been nothing short of inspiring. While they leave a remarkable legacy, we are confident that Stripe will be exceptional partners in the years ahead - not only given Stripe's global reputation as a leader in tech innovation, but also given its strong connection to YSTE through Patrick and John Collison, who are both past participants in the competition, with Patrick taking home the overall top prize in 2005." Patrick Collison, Co-founder and CEO of Stripe, also said, "YSTE is a special institution for me and John. It amplified our curiosity and reinforced our confidence at a critical juncture. We're honoured that Stripe has been selected to help preserve it for generations to come." Speaking about the appointment, Minister for Education, Helen McEntee TD, said, "The Young Scientist & Technology Exhibition has grown to become one of the most successful, and respected events focused on Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) in Europe, if not the world. The incredible legacy it has left to date is immeasurable and I have no doubt it will continue to inspire and promote STEM and innovation for many more years to come." "I would like to thank BT Ireland for delivering an exhibition of such a high standard for over 25 years. We look forward to continuing our strategic partnership with the YTSE and working with Stripe as they continue to empower students to embrace new ideas, foster curiosity and encourage a love of learning." Dr Tony Scott, Co-founder of the Young Scientist & Technology Exhibition, said, "We are delighted to welcome Stripe as a partner in shaping the next chapter of our exhibition. Their support ensures we can continue to inspire the next generation of scientists, technologists, engineers, and innovators. It's vital that we not only sustain the strong reputation and level of interest in the exhibition year-on-year, but continue to evolve and engage young inquiring minds in new an...

In today's Daily Fix:Tom Holland is a busy guy these days. He's currently filming Christopher Nolan's adaptation of Homer's The Odyssey, and will then go right to production on the next Spider-Man film, which now has an official title and release date. Spider-Man: Brand New Day will arrive in theatres July 31, 2026, just a couple of weeks after Nolan's The Odyssey hits screens. As you can probably guess by the title, the new movie will take some inspiration from the Brand New Day story arc in Spider-Man comics. In other kind of related news, Venom in Marvel Rivals has a emote: twerking. The emote is free for April Fool's Day, and will likely stick around past Season 1. And finally, we have an approximate runtime for tomorrow's Nintendo Switch 2 Direct. The Direct will be Nintendo's longest so far, running about an hour.

Back home in Sussex, where Meghan is the Duchess, locals are questioning her authenticity.Colin Hall told MAIL Online: "If she's going to claim the title then she should have more connection with the place." He suggested that she could "get involved in a children's charity or do something else worthwhile in the county," adding, "Simply adopting Sussex as a surname to use to your own ends is cynical." His brother Jeff shared, "I'm sure the Sussex title is a very lucrative thing to have and, having married into the Royal Family, she should be able to use it." "One visit in eight years isn't really good enough. She should come more often to earn the right to use the name." One possible title for Meghan might be “the Duchess of Disasters”Unlock an ad-free podcast experience with Caloroga Shark Media! Get all our shows on any player you love, hassle free! Will this new plan work in college athletics?
Now that Julia Stiles has directed her first feature film, Wish You Were Here, she sees the work of directors in a whole new light. “I almost wanted to call some directors that I had worked with and be like, ‘I'm so sorry that I was annoyed with you when you told me to do that thing.'” Best known for acting, when she read the novel the film is based on, she knew she needed to adapt it. “The book broke my heart but also made me laugh. It felt like it had such a good spirit to it, and I'm a romantic at heart.” The film follows a young woman swept up in a new romance only to learn he's terminally ill. While she says she ran “in the other direction” of making the film too saccharine, she didn't let that cynical voice fully take over. “There is something really important about showing how much this girl takes care of him, and that it's okay to be kind and loving toward another person.” And now she says adding director to her credits has made her a better actor. “I think I realized that if you trust your director, and I mean really trust that person and believe in their vision, you can throw spaghetti against the wall and see what sticks.”See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

This past April, the Department of Education published a 423-page final rule amending its implementing for Title IX, which prohibits sex discrimination in federally-funded education programs and activities, with certain, important exceptions. The new rule was consistent with an order issued by President Biden on his first day in office that the Supreme Court’s 2020 decision in Bostock v. Clayton County be applied across the entire federal government.Shortly after the new rule issued, at least ten separate lawsuits challenging it were filed by states, school districts, and parental rights groups in various federal jurisdictions. Thus far, the lawsuits have been uniformly successfully, with the rule now preliminarily enjoined in 26 states and numerous additional school districts. As oral argument is set to begin in the circuit courts on the government’s appeal, this webinar will review this litigation’s history, as well as preview its future, including what it might say about Bostock applicability outside of Title VII.Featuring: Donald A. Daugherty, Senior Counsel, Litigation, Defense of Freedom Institute

Next, they talk about Manchester United's lucky 1-1 draw with Chelsea and how they managed to escape two possible red cards. Southeastern Legal Foundation Executive Director Kimberly Hermann details the constitutional flaws and potential dangers of the Biden administration's new Title IX rule, saying “it's turning things completely on their head and it's robbing parents of their rights and it's robbing our children of their constitutional rights.” She argues the new rule punishes free speech and points out “the changes to the definition of sex will override parental privacy rights.” She also urges concerned parents to “go out there and advocate and know what your school is doing.”See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
Representative Claudia Tenney (R-NY) says the Biden administration's trans-inclusive changes to Title IX test our First Amendment rights. “Forcing people to use pronouns, in my view of the First Amendment, is what's called compelled speech and the freedom of speech prohibits the government from telling people what to say,” she says. “It's like they can't tell you you have to say the Pledge of Allegiance or stand for the flag. And so forcing someone to actually use pronouns that they don't choose to use and then holding your employer liable to me is going to have First Amendment problems.” Additional interviews with Chairman of the House Administration Subcommittee on Oversight Barry Loudermilk, Arizona Congressional Candidate Abe Hamadeh, Former Advisor to Borris Johnson Thomas Corbett-Dillon , and PublicSq.
