This week, Ron and Peter wish a happy BIG 4-0 to the first of several post-GREMLINS murderous-little-creatures flicks, GHOULIES; and the sequel to 1982's 1990: THE BRONX WARRIORS (which Ron also briefly reviews), ESCAPE FROM THE BROX (aka BRONX WARRIORS 2 and ESCAPE 2000 - though I'm not sure it's ever confirmed in the film that it takes place ten years after the original). We also review a current holiday-movie-season leftover, Netflix's CARRY-ON, which has been compared to DIE HARD 2. Find out what we think of that... Please remember to Rate, Like, and Subscribe; and despite what we say at the end of this episode, we called an audible and will instead be back next week with a bonus episode devoted to the almost-30-year-old FROM DUSK TILL DAWN, which was released in theaters in January of 1996.

This week's pick is the 1982 action/sci-fi flick 1990: the Bronx Warriors. According to IMDB: In a post-apocalyptic New York City, a policeman infiltrates the Bronx, which has become a battleground for several murderous street gangs. Since we've already covered Escape from New York, it was only right that we also do the Italian copycat film Escape from the Bronx, which, as we quickly point out, actually has nothing to do with escaping. This sequel to 1990: The Bronx Warriors certainly has a lot in common with its brethren but it does a number of things differently, and more importantly its extremely low budget means lots of unintentional laughs abound. Look for dummies blowing up, lots of extras playing laser tag, and a lot more. We're also drinking Finback Brewing's Rolling in Clouds IPA. Approximate timeline 0:00-8:00 Intro 8:00-16:00 Beer talk 16:00-end Escape from the Bronx Next up: Easy Rider. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/bloodandblackrum/support
Devin & James are back in the Den, and this time they brought their leather vests and switchblade boots cause they're ready for the Italian POST-APOCALYPSE. The post-atomic wasteland became all the rage globally after the success of films like Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior and Escape from New York, and clever (and not-so-clever) copycats began to pop up everywhere. But, as usual, the Italian filmmakers did take the proverbial yellowcake. In this episode we focus on Enzo Castellari's 1990: THE BRONX WARRIORS, Joe D'Amato's ENDGAME, Lucio Fulci's WARRIORS OF THE YEAR 2072, and finally, Sergio Martino's HANDS OF STEEL. Don't forget your spiked wristbands!
This week we have a pair of supremely stylish post-apocalyptic films by Italian director Enzo G. On this week's show, Phillip starts the show by telling everyone about some projects his friends have been working on and to check out Tim Martin's, a friend of the podcast, YouTube page. So first check out Sushi, Tim's short film, here... https://youtu.be/6Xaw-mz7kSY?si=lAfdWTBLSTf8pPQK. Then he introduces his friend and returning co-host Erik Clapp from Cinema Force on YouTube and Instagram. Check out his stuff, as well as a video essay on Lifeforce here https://youtube.com/@cinemaforce1?si=SLMQV5OZ_9jfPmlt. The movie the two are covering on this week's show is Tobe Hooper's Lifeforce from 1985, and boy is it fun. The guys start by giving the general information about the movie, with some small facts sprinkled in. It''s then time to hear Listener Opinions from Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. Phillip and Erik then discuss their thoughts on the movie, and sprinkle some facts in throughout. They answer the question of whether they see anything that Quentin might have liked or used in a movie. Phillip and Erik rate the movie on a scale of one to five. Then they answer whether they would buy, rent, or just watch the movie for free. Phillip then gives his Phil's Film Favorite of the Week; 1990: The Bronx Warriors (1982). Phillip then talks about next week's show, on February 16th, where he will be joined once again by Dave Lizerbram from Rock Docs Podcast. The randomizer picks Hardbodies (1984) for them to discuss. We hope you enjoyed this week's show, it was a very fun conversation and we hope you enjoy. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/makingtarantinothepodcast/message
In the inaugural episode of 99 Cent Rental, brothers Bryan and Dave take a deep dive into the world of Italian exploitation movies with what is ostensibly the perfect specimen of spaghetti apocalypse movies, 1990: The Bronx Warriors. As well as being one of the better examples of the genre, it's also the debut of one of Italy's most peculiar (and tragic) stars, Mark Gregory, a young man of exceptional physique who couldn't possibly be less interested in being in movies. We've fallen behind on editing these Wasteland episodes so we're extending the Appreciation Month topic into the first couple weeks of December as well. So, we hope you don't mind a few more trips heading out into the Dystopian fueled nightmares of the Apocalypse. It's a month long celebration of all things Post-Apocalyptic so you can expect marauders, scavengers, mutants and mayhem, cool car chases, fights over water and fuel, and battles of epic proportions. Coming up next in the dystopian and action mayhem in our 5th episode is an Italian double feature of 1982's "1990; THE BRONX WARRIORS" and it's 1983 sequel "ESCAPE FROM THE BRONX" from legendary director Enzo G. Castellari (Warriors of the Wasteland, Inglorious Bastards, The Last Shark, Keoma , The Heroin Busters and dozens more!) These films tell of the desolate future of 1990 where the Bronx has become an all out warzone ruled only by the street gangs that still inhabit the crumbling city. At the center of this mayhem is the unofficial leader of the gangs Trash (portrayed by the late Mark Gregory from the Thunder trilogy and Delta Force Commando). In supporting roles we have Fred 'The Hammer' Williamson, Vic Morrow, Henry Silva, George Eastman and many others. These two movies have to be seen to be believed. Our deep dive discussion on these Italian actioners is headed off by the duo of Cameron Scott (Post Mortem America 2021) with friend and frequent collaborator Scott Tepperman (The Cruel Summer Trilogy). Join them and buckle in because it's going to be a wild ride! "Allow me to correct you, Mr. Clark - I'm worse than anyone."
Movie Meltdown - Episode 601 Join us as we venture into the grindhouse world of 1990: The Bronx Warriors directed by Enzo G. Castellari. And while we mistakenly get off at the wrong stop on the subway, we also bring up… No Exit, Knock at the Cabin, John Wick: Chapter 4, Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, The Long Kiss Goodnight, Italian genre cinema, Vic Morrow, loving Keanu Reeves, where did the horses come from, Sam Raimi, a fistful of funeral, Mark Gregory, a great moment for theater kids, Shane Black, Mad Max, Samuel L. Jackson, looks like a war zone, George Eastman, Ana de Armas, a giant elaborate birthday cake, Geena Davis, Ennio Girolami, action scenes in slo-mo, dark elves, The Warriors, Escape from New York and Fosse! Spoiler Alert: Full spoilers for 1990: The Bronx Warriors, so watch the movie before you listen. “He's definitely very Snake Plisskenny… without the charm.”
We're digging deep (ish) into Trash's backstory with Rifftrax's 1990: The Bronx Warriors. Somehow, going backwards in this franchise just made more sense. (CW: sexual assault)Host segments: Is it camp?; we are Fosse dancers; "These guys have never been in a fight."; rethinking the whole "Nazi" thing; don't drink with anthropologists; a completely Les Mis gang; discount Helen Mirren; SpitGate; gangs of dad york; two very busy women.
Dan and Brennan finally get around Escape from the Bronx, a sequel to episode 15's 1990: The Bronx Warriors. However, they completely confuse this with episode 8's Warriors of the Wasteland without even knowing. That's just what happens when you watch too many Enzo G. Castellari movies. Regardless, does Escape from the Bronx entertain these dongles? Listen to find out! Join us as we get our skates on and head into the Bronx for one of Italy's most enjoyable New York-set dystopian future movies,The Bronx Warriors! In this episode we ponder why no one seems to have a gun, why there were so few light-up skulls for the bikers, and why we can't all have drummers playing in the background during difficult moments. For more information on Mark Gregory, aka Marco De Gregorio, see the excellent Cinema Italiano Database. We would love to hear from you if you have any favourite post-apocalypse films. Justin from Third Eye Throwbacks, a good friend of the podcast, has threatened his status with the boys after he made them review 1990: The Bronx Warriors. Various gangs rule The Bronx in this dystopian future set in the 1990's. Ann, an heiress to a fortune runs away from home, and finds herself smack in the middle of gang warfare in the South Bronx. Fortunately for her, she lands in the safe and capable arms of Trash, the leads of the riders. Unfortunately for Justin however, this movie might just land him on the list of shame!Check out Third Eye Throwbacks for awesome vintage and nostalgic merch!https://www.instagram.com/thirdeyethrowbacks

Lol writers
Today on the 5: Over the weekend I finally watched Escape From Bronx, the sequel to 1990: The Bronx Warriors. I was a fool to wait, because I think I like the second movie more than the first!
This week, hosts Dominic Lawton & Ken B Wild are double dipping as they don their faux leather vests whilst deep diving the 1982 Mad Max/The Warriors Italian rip off - THE BRONX WARRIORS and its 1983 sequel ESCAPE FROM THE BRONX The boys discuss our hero's funny walk, Fred Williamson and the insanity of the hilariously named bad guys - Hammer & Wangler! Meanwhile, Dom facepalms through our protagonist's big monologue on the beach whilst Ken approves of a cameo by big George Eastman! The film pitch this week sees the BMC giving us a continuation of the Bronx films. Years after the second film the Bronx is still under martial law and is being fought for by two rival gangs, the B.R.O.N.X gang and The Horseman. When a police commissioner with a grudge wages war on the gangs, they must put their differences aside and fight for their home and their lives! Frank Grillo and Jean Claude Van Damme star in B.R.O.N.X! Cast includes Terry Crews, Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson, Rick Moranis, Queen Latifah, Greer Grammer, Dick Van Dyke and Carl Weathers as Police Captain Carl Weathers! This week we discuss the Italian-American post-apocalyptic motorcycle gang movie "1990: The Bronx Warriors". This week a four pack of regular octane fueled post apocalyptic mayhem. In the far flung future, Texas has succumbed to the wilds and only has the battle hardened Rangers to stand for justice. To be honest, this is a hard one to describe, a four film franchise plopped in a blender and spun until semi combined into one epic. There are Nazis with super science shields, questionable Native American depictions, at least on giant ginger goddess, side trips into a Michael Cimino classic, and a fistful of biker gangs... 2020 Texas Gladiators! In another far flung future, the Bronx will be declared an autonomous no man's land and left to the dominion of highly fashion forward gangs. One leader, Trash, will find purpose from a young blonde outsider who takes refuge in the crumbling streets and chaos. Will our star crossed lovers rise to the task at hand or will they be just another stain left behind the mean streets of 1990: The Bronx Warriors? In the farthest flung future, the world in divided into the hand to mouth living above and the wealthy opulence of the Nine Cities below. The only thing anyone has above to build a better future is The Game. If a travelling team is good enough, they can challenge the professionals of the League and hopefully win a place of luxury among the best of the best. Salute the Jugger and see The Blood of Heroes. Sit by the fire and hears the telling of how our world be as it is today. The tale of a wonderer and Aunty Entity's iron rule in Batertown. How the pigs make the lights. How we got to Tomorrow-morrow land and the failure of Captain Walker. But mostly, the telling of Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome. All that and Dave preps for a walkabout, Anna teaches about Planet Erf, and Kevin's magic act rehearsal goes terribly terribly wrong. Join us, won't you?Episode 219- Electric Italian Outback Foosball

70 Movies We Saw in the 70s: WOODSTOCK (1970) Mike Lustig, guitar shaman of legendary rock ensemble Ruth Ruth, joins Mike and Ben for 3 Hours of Discourse and Digressions in regard to the 3 Days of Peace and Music covered by Michael Wadleigh’s epically far-out documentary, WOODSTOCK. Brown-acid-induced insights include: • Woodstock organizer Mike Lang and 1990: Bronx Warriors star Marco de Gregorio: Separated at the Hair Product Counter? • Bill Graham and Jackie Mason: Separated at the Bagel Store? • “Younger Generation” by John Sebastian and “Butch’s Song” by Jackie Martling: Separated at The Jetty? • The Who Sell Out vs. Live at Leeds vs. Roger Daltrey’s fringe jacket. • Mike Lustig’s no-longer-secret connection to iconic rap-rock douche titans The Lordz of Brooklyn. • The singalong soundtrack to the Ben Reiser family’s annual Flatbush “Freedom Seder.” • The 2am Times Square confluence in 1996 of the Mermaid Parade, Joe Franklin, a Screw-magazine-loving cop, and Mike McPadden soaring on psychedelics.
In this Episode, Shane & Pat review Escape From the Bronx, sequel to The Bronx Warriors, a movie we endured in Episode 2.2. Was this cinematic offering any better than the original? Surprise, the answer is no, but at least the leading man learned how to walk like a real boy.

Listen along as we presume how post-apocalyptic gangs choose their outfits, try to make sense of the timeline, and wonder about how an apocalyptic postal service operates.
This is one of the least postapocalyptic movies ever made. At best, there are three square blocks of postapocalypse, and some of it might be Brooklyn. A lot of it is definitely Rome. This movie is equal parts ripoffs of The Warriors and Escape From New York, and it’s a lot of fun, in a grimy kind of way. Host Monty Ashley and Rhias Hall.

Alright Savages!!! We're back and this time we're talking with Goatsifter in the studio. We're also talking about a post-apocalyptic B-Movie in 1990 The Bronx Warriors from 1982.
Tune into a very special episode of Flesh Wound Radio w/ Todd Loya and Daniel Schein. On this episode we celebrate the wild and wonderful Post Nuke era of film w/ Spaghetti Apocalypse: The Italian years. Of course we have to cover the one that started it all, Mad Max first. Then we tackle legendary director Enzo G. Castellari's new to blu ray post nuke classics 1990:Bronx Warriors, Escape From The Bronx, and New Barbarians. All that plus Horror Hot Topics and TV Terror Talk. So don't miss all the sadistic death squads, bloodthirsty gay biker gangs, gratuitous future 1990 hair, and scantily leather clad euro babes you can handle Flesh Wound Freaks.
