Welcome to Episode 2 of SEC Baseball Weekly with Chris Lee, Alfred Ezman, and Graham Doty, an SEC baseball podcast that discusses the biggest storylines in the conference all year long. We'll cover the biggest/trending topics, featuring fun and interesting guest interviews, season predictions, player and team SEC trivia, and a wide range of various unique segments. Chris, Alfred, and Graham cover several topics in our second episode of SEC baseball weekly, including: Who's going No. 1? (Charlie Condon, Travis Bazzana, surprise?) It looks like four SEC guys in top 10 (Condon, Jac Caglianone, Hagen Smith, Braden Montgomery). The SEC could add six more current first-rounders (Christian Moore, Jurrangelo Cijintje, Tommy White, Ryan Waldschmidt, Billy Amick, Dakota Jordan). And maybe others (Drew Beam, Bryce Cunningham, Luke Holman, Ben Hess) too. Several more top-100 picks (Blake Burke, Jared Thomas, Ryan Prager, Gage Jump, Carter Holton, Kavares Tears, Cole Messina, Chris Cortez, Gage Miller, Khal Stephen, Colby Shelton, Peyton Stovall). LSU commit Derek Curiel took his name out; he could have gone in the top four rounds. LSU will watch the first round closely as three commits--SS/OF Konnor Griffin, LHP Cam Caminiti, RHP William Schmidt--all get first-round grades. Ole Miss OF commit Slade Caldwell will probably forego college. Texas 2B/SS Theo Gillen and Florida SS Kellon Lindsey are also commits who could see their names called in the first round. Tennessee has at least six commitments who could be picked in the top 250 picks, while LSU could see as many as eight drafted there. The latest transfer portal news, including Jace LaViolette, Justin Lamkin and Caden Sorrell returning to Texas A&M. Texas Tech transfer Gavin Kash commits to Texas A&M, but he's a draft risk. Kennesaw State transfer Tanner Franklin commits to Tennessee, as does Gavin Kilen (Louisville). Clemson transfer Nolan Nawrocki commits to South Carolina. Stetson OF Kyle Jones commits to Florida. Georgia lands pitcher JT Quinn from Ole Miss. Cayden Nicolletto from Columbia College commits to Missouri. Pitcher Logan Lunceford leaves Missouri. Ole Miss lands Rayn Moerman (Illinois), Collin Reuter (BYU) LSU lands pitcher Zac Cowan (Wofford) and outfielder Chris Stanfield (Auburn). Mississippi State lands two-way USC Upstate transfer Noah Sullivan. Texas lands Thomas Burns from Arizona State. And Vanderbilt loses second baseman/DH Cam Kozeal. The College Baseball Showdown field is released, and it includes Texas and Ole Miss, plus Clemson, Louisville, Oklahoma State and Arizona. In June, the Houston Astros College Classic; Tennessee, Mississippi State and Texas A&M will face Oklahoma State, Rice and Arizona. 0:00 Intro 3:20 SEC In The MLB Draft 39:51 Transfer Portal News 51:03 College Baseball Tournament Announcements FOLLOW US ON SOCIAL MEDIA Daily Newsletter: https://se14.substack.com/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/14Southeastern Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/southeastern14_/ TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@secsports14 ADVERTISE WITH SOUTHEASTERN 14 Reach out to caroline.smith@southeastern14.com to find out how your product or service can be seen by over 150,000 unique viewers each month!

Cory is a big LSU baseball fan and it was his big moment when Tommy White smacked a homer to the left field bleachers! Unfortunately, it wasn't Cory's glove that caught the 109 mph hit! But he's not mad about it...in fact he gave probably the best soundbite in sports reporting history. VIDEO; https://www.wdjx.com/baseball-fan-hit-by-home-run-ball-has-best-reaction-ever/

HawgBeat's Mason Choate and Robert Stewart bring you the Diamond Hawgs Podcast, brought to you by BetSaracen. The guys recap Arkansas baseball's weekend series sweep over the No. 8 LSU Tigers in Fayetteville.Game-by-game recaps, plus thoughts on Tommy White, bad NCAA tweets, LSU fans crying, weekend MVPs and more.
LSU Tigers baseball started their series with the Arkansas Razorbacks with a 7-4 loss Thursday night in Fayetteville. The Hogs had their ace Hagen Smith on the mound while Tigers head coach Jay Johnson rested his ace, Luke Holman, and threw southpaw Javen Coleman. LSU found some life at the plate with back-to-back home runs from Tommy White and Hayden Travinski to go up 2-1 in the top of the fourth inning, but Arkansas quickly responded in the bottom of the fourth to take a 3-2 lead of their own. The officiating was questionable at best, but even still it was LSU's bullpen that ultimately cost them the first game of the series. Unfortunately, that has been the story of LSU in conference play. Relievers Fidel Ulloa gave up two runs, Christian Little with one, and ultimately it was a three-run bomb given up by Gavin Guidry that sealed the loss for LSU.How concerned are we with the Tigers' 2-5 start to SEC play? Through two weekends of SEC play the Tigers have yet to win a series. Do they have the roster to turn things around? Plus, the women's Sweet Sixteen starts Friday afternoon and Kim Mulkey's squad takes on the UCLA Bruins Saturday at noon in Albany. We break down the matchup and how the team's mentality is critical going into their second Sweet Sixteen appearance in as many years. The LSU Tigers baseball team is one win away from being College World Series champions. Let that sink in... LSU punched their ticket to the College World Series final after defeating number one overall seed Wake Forest in two consecutive games, featuring one instant classic which featured the two best pitchers in college baseball and a walk-off two run bomb from Tommy White in extras. In Game 1 against the Gators, LSU pitcher Ty Floyd recorded the most strikeouts ever in a College World Series game striking out 17 Gators while giving up three runs on five hits. Cade Beloso's home plate heroics helped the Tigers yet again after his home run in the top of the 11th inning sealed the deal for the purple and gold. A brutal 20-run loss didn't help LSU's case but overall throughout the postseason it seems like there is a little bit of magic and a whole lot of clutch performances that have been on LSU's side. There is no better way to capitalize on those performances with a win Monday night against Florida to bring home the program's seventh national title. Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors! After knocking off Wake Forest 2-0 on Tommy White's walk-off home run, LSU Baseball head coach Jay Johnson, Tommy White, Paul Skenes, and Thatcher Hurd break down the win and look ahead to the CWS Finals against Florida. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/heyfightinpodcast/message
The LSU Tigers started off their trip to Omaha with a win over the Tennessee Volunteers but the luck ran out in Game 2 as the Tigers fall to the number one overall seed Wake Forest Demon Deacons 3-2 Monday night. Ty Floyd was on the mound for LSU against Wake Forest and had a dominant first five innings striking out ten and giving up zero runs. Hits from Tommy White and Tre Morgan in the third inning gave LSU the lead, but Floyd couldn't hold on through the sixth inning when he walked three straight batters and gave up two runs in the sixth tying the game with two runs a piece. A third Wake Forest run in the eighth would be it and the Tigers head to the losers bracket while Wake Forest awaits their opponent for the final game, or games, before the College World Series final. But it's not over for LSU – the Tigers now face the Tennessee Volunteers for the second time in Omaha after the Vols took down the Stanford Cardinal Monday afternoon. What are LSU's keys to victory? Paul Skenes and the LSU Tigers took down the Tennessee Volunteers in Game 1 in Omaha to advance to take down #1 overall seed Wake Forest Demon Deacons in the men's College World Series. Skenes was spectacular, as usual, against Tennessee striking out 12 Volunteers and throwing 123 pitches in 7 and two thirds innings. Ty Floyd will take the mound for the Tigers Monday evening against Wake Forest. What did we see from LSU against the Vols that gives encouragement for LSU to make a run to their seventh program national championship? The bottom of the LSU batting order has been fantastic in the postseason. As elite and dependable as LSU's sluggers like Dylan Crews and Tommy White are, it was a three-hit day from Brayden Jobert and a home run from Gavin Dugas that propelled the Tigers' offense. Is that LSU's X-factor? Will this LSU offense be able to keep Wake Forest's lefty starting pitcher, Josh Hartle, in check? Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors! EAUXMAHA, BABY!!!! LSU baseball sweeps the Kentucky Wildcats in the Baton Rouge Super Regional and will advance to the men's College World Series for the 19th time in program history, the most of any team in the Southeastern Conference. Tigers ace Paul Skenes got the action started on Saturday night with yet another elite performance on the mound going just over seven innings, giving up zero runs, and striking out nine Wildcats. The LSU offense was as advertised that night with two home run performances from both Tre Morgan and Tommy White with Hunter Dugas and Josh Pearson bringing in solos of their own. The Tigers continued to prove that they could get production from anyone in their lineup, not just the marquis sluggers. "It's a deep lineup. It's really long," Kentucky Wildcats skipper Nick Mignione said after the loss to LSU. "There's a lot of talk about Dylan Crews and Tommy White and many others but it's long. You get past them and you can't take a break, you can't take a breath." But it wasn't just offense that propelled Jay Johnson's squad to Omaha – the one thorn in LSU's side all season actually ended up winning them the game on Sunday: pitching. For weeks throughout the season LSU was trying to find that go-to, dependable guy outside of Paul Skenes in the pitching rotation and it is starting to come into form, both with starters and relievers. Ty Floyd got the start on Sunday and after just over three innings and three runs given up, Riley Cooper and Gavin Guidry come in for a combined five innings and did not give up a single run. LSU led nearly the entire game, but not comfortably, and it was the pitching that held on to LSU's lead. LSU will play the winner of the Hattiesburg Super Regional in the first round in Omaha. Tennessee and Southern Miss are scheduled to play the third and final game of their super on Monday evening, a delayed start due to storms in the area. Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors! LSU baseball stars Paul Skenes and Dylan Crews earned SEC honors as the Tigers' Friday night ace was awarded SEC Player of the Year and Crews was crowned SEC Player of the Year. Skenes leads the country in strikeouts and Crews has one of the best batting averages and on base percentages across college baseball. Crews and Skenes are projected to be the first two picks in the MLB Draft this summer. With that caliber of talent, in addition to the other incredibly well-decorated players on the roster such as Tommy White, Tre Morgan, Gavin Dugas, etc., is there any excuse for LSU not to win the College World Series? The first test of the postseason begins Wednesday morning as LSU takes on the South Carolina Gamecocks in Hoover, Alabama for the SEC Baseball Tournament. South Carolina shut out the Georgia Bulldogs on Tuesday afternoon while LSU earned a first round bye as the #3 seed in the conference tournament. LSU baseball head coach Jay Johnson reiterated to the media that the Tigers, no matter who or where they are playing, will play to compete and to win. Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!
