Kevin Nash and Sean Oliver return for another episode of Kliq This, and the boys are pulling absolutely no punches. The basketball world takes center stage early on as Kevin airs his major grievances regarding the current state of the NBA playoffs. From questionable coaching decisions to baffling gameplay in recent matchups, listeners will find out exactly why the big man is ready to completely tap out on watching the rest of the finals. The conversation also takes a fascinating detour into the unsung historical figures who truly built Las Vegas and the surprising origins of Detroit's wealthiest natives. The discussion takes a thought-provoking turn as the duo dives into the complex debate of separating the art from the artist. Prompted by recent documentaries and biopics, Kevin and Sean examine the complicated legacy of Michael Jackson and debate whether it is possible to enjoy a creator's work despite their controversial personal life. The guys also tackle the rapidly evolving world of artificial intelligence, questioning the lack of societal guardrails on technology that could permanently alter the future. Plus, expect a nostalgic trip down memory lane as they reflect on the golden age of American car manufacturing. No episode would be complete without some inside perspective on the professional wrestling business. Kevin shares his unfiltered thoughts on CM Punk taking some well-deserved time away from the ring and addresses recent rumors of creative stagnation in the industry. The hosts also answer burning questions from the 11 Soft Club, including a theoretical look at Bill Goldberg's notorious heel turn in WCW. Finally, the beloved advice segment returns with Kevin offering his highly unique perspective to listeners navigating incredibly sticky family dynamics and deep political divides. In this week's episode, LuFisto and Jeff Lippman break down a very “old-school LFG” show packed with international flavor. The coaches (Kevin Owens, Booker T, Bubba Ray, and Natalya) assign three matches, including a women's bout between Kali Bright and Bayley Humphrey (working heel), Elijah Ali (Elio LaFleur / White Eagle) vs. Malik Blade, and a strong main event between Mark The Router and Elio LaFleur. The hosts praise the in-ring action, coaching insights, and character work while discussing improvements, booking perception vs. reality, and the challenges of reality-show stakes when real-life releases are already known. They call it the strongest episode of the season so far for its heavy focus on wrestling and international talent.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/wrestling-soup--1425249/support.
It's a big night of AD (no politics!) with a very special guest, and the Thursday gang tackles the continuing expose on the corruption and whorification of WWE after Mania's releases, why Bubba Ray is a MFer, and we list out some very important video games AND finish being "known!"
The road to WrestleMania 42 officially runs through Las Vegas, and the energy is hitting a fever pitch. In this episode of the 3-time award-winning Devon & The Duke, WWE Hall of Famer Devon Dudley prepares to head into the heart of the festivities. But before the lights go up in the desert, he and Duke sit down for a raw, hilarious, and wide-ranging conversation that proves why this show remains the standard for authentic wrestling media. From potential ring-side chaos to deep-dive nostalgia, here is what's on deck for Episode 66:The Oba Femi & Brock Lesnar Speculation: As the world prepares for the collision between Oba Femi and Brock Lesnar, Devon teases the possibility of showing up to ensure "The Beast" walks away with the win. Is Duke finally getting under Devon's skin enough to provoke a confrontation with "The Ruler," or is Devon just giving the rumor-mill something to chew on? Devon has a direct warning for the dirtsheets: quote him accurately and don't miss the humor. The Cody Rhodes & Pat McAfee Situation: Duke doubles down on his assessment of Cody Rhodes as a Ric Flair wannabe and an "egg sucking dog." While Pat McAfee took that exact sentiment to the global stage on SmackDown, Duke is keeping receipts. He appreciates the message being delivered to Cody's face, but he's calling out the lack of credit for the man who said it first. The Era of Wooden TV Boxes & UHF Dial-Turning: The duo takes a trip back to the 80s, reminiscing about the days when a family's "entertainment center" was a 200-pound wooden box. They discuss the vanished art of wrestling fandom: wrestling with antennae and UHF dials just to get a clear enough picture to see the stars of the day.Celebrating 10 Years of Duke Loves Rasslin: Devon offers a formal salute to Duke for a decade of excellence in media and his recent landmark interview with Goldberg.Goldberg: The Man Behind the Persona: Duke provides exclusive behind-the-scenes context on his decision to pivot away from standard wrestling talk with Bill Goldberg. By focusing on Goldberg's Jewish faith, culture, and family values, Duke captured a side of the icon rarely seen in the industry—an approach Devon notes is the cornerstone of why their partnership works so well.If you are in Las Vegas for WrestleMania 42, make sure you witness history. Today's episode is a special one. This weekend we lost someone very important to me and to many people in the hunting community. My unc, my OG, and one of my mentors in this industry passed away in Texas after battling cancer. He was someone who believed in me early on, supported what I was building with the podcast, and always shared wisdom about hunting, life, and the outdoors. Because of that, I wanted to honor him by rerunning the podcast episode we recorded together. This conversation meant a lot to me then, and it means even more now. If you've heard it before, I hope you listen again and remember the kind of man he was. If you're hearing it for the first time, this is a chance to hear his voice, his stories, and the passion he had for hunting and the outdoor lifestyle. Rest easy unc. Thank you for the guidance, the laughs, and the lessons. This episode is dedicated to you William Bubba Ray! Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. Kevin Nash and Sean Oliver reunite with their old friend Raven this week for a raw, hilarious, and brutally honest conversation about survival. The guys dig into Raven's new documentary Nevermore: The Raven Effect, which explores the darkness, ego, and mental illness that shaped one of wrestling's most complicated minds. Nash and Raven trade stories about painkillers, ECW chaos, and the mental toll of living on the road, revealing how close they all came to not making it out alive The talk gets personal fast. Raven opens up about his addictions, early-onset Parkinson's, and why watching his own life on film felt like ripping off emotional bandages. Nash reflects on the locker-room culture that glamorized self-destruction and the quiet PTSD every veteran carries from that era They balance the heavy with humor—stories of insane road trips, ridiculous bar fights, and the strange brotherhood of wrestlers who can't stop laughing at their own disasters. There's talk of cereal at midnight, broken bodies, the worst-smelling locker rooms, and the moments in the ring when time itself stopped and the crowd was completely theirs Raven also reflects on the psychology of wrestling—why the smartest guys in the business are often the funniest, and how showmanship, not moves, creates immortality. Nash counters with stories from his own training under Jody Hamilton and the price every big man pays for longevity By the end, the mood turns reflective. The boys talk about faith, regret, and what it means to still be standing when so many friends are gone. It's dark, funny, and deeply human—the kind of episode that reminds you why Kliq This is more than a wrestling show. Get Blitzed-Save 15% at Get-Blitzed.com by entering the code KLIQ at checkout. There would be no WWE Attitude Era, no AEW, and maybe no Stone Cold Steve Austin if not for Extreme Championship Wrestling. The legendary promotion owned and helmed by creative genius Paul E. Heyman completely revolutionized the professional wrestling business with its hardcore, violent and extreme style that encouraged crowd chants, the use of weapons, and multiple high spots per match. The Dudley Boyz, Bully Ray (aka Bubba Ray) and D-Von, Jerry Lynn, and Missy Hyatt relive some of their favorite moments and matches at ECW, and share tales about Sabu, Chris Candido, The Sandman, RVD, Lance Storm, Brian Pillman, and of course Paul E. himself! As the 1990s were winding down, the third most popular wrestling promotion in the United States was Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW). Eventually, the promotion, operated by Paul Heyman folded and some of its wrestlers were called up to the World Wrestling Federation (now WWE). One of the success stories of that promotion that made it big in WWE and beyond was the Dudley Boyz. Originally comprised of several members, the two most prominent, Bubba Ray and D-Von, were brought into WWE and became one of the most popular tag teams in history.
