Happy Labor Day everyone. We are back for your listening pleasure. Razi is loving Shang-chi and Byron appreciates his recommendation of Friends from College. Ferg reviews Click Bait and points out the similarities to Hey Arnold. We discuss college football opening weekend and Sophie is back to deliver the joke of the week. #bringbacksophie Byron gets first question and he is appalled. Someone stated that "Space Age Pimpin" is not a romantic love song. That launches us into a college level deconstruction of the song. The conversation evolves into discussing certified lover boy, Donda, and Andre 3 Stacks and Drake leaking Kanye's diss record. Razi sticks with music and wants to discuss if it's time to uncancel Chrisette Michelle since we gave Ye a pass. As we discuss pop culture Ferg brings up parents that go way over the top for their kids. He wants to know if people feel pressured and/or obligated to give kids things beyond their means. In this exciting episode of the Holistic Wealth Podcast with Keisha Blair, our special guest is a celebrity hairstylist and entrepreneur Nadia Vassell. Nadia's styles have attracted the attention of many celebrities like Rihanna, rapper and America's Best Dance Crew judge Lil' Mama, Chrisette Michelle, actress Tika Sumpter, and Ashanti. She's built an extensive portfolio of video and print work and has been featured in major publications including Essence, Black Sophisticate, XXL Eye Candy, Heart and Soul, Smooth, Uptown Magazine, and The Dr. Oz Show. Nadia began mastering her hairstyling craft in Montego Bay, Jamaica where at the tender age of ten her braiding and cornrow technique was legendary. Despite her prodigious talent, Nadia's career as a hairstylist took a backseat to dreams of becoming a supermodel. Several years after graduating from high school, the budding catwalk vixen migrated to New York City to pursue her modelling aspirations. Much to her delight, Nadia attained early success appearing in many hair magazines and runway shows. But as Nadia moved about in the modelling industry her hair wizardry became more apparent as she found herself styling the manes of fellow models during photo shoots. The techniques she developed as a child re-surfaced and Nadia discovered that she was able to create styles with hair extensions that were undetectable. Nadia quickly became known as a weave specialist and began moving up the ranks of emerging hairstylists in New York City's cutthroat beauty arena. Now as the owner of The Nadia Vassell Salon located in one of the hippest neighbourhoods in Manhattan, Nadia's impeccable technique and attention to detail are ever-present. Hey ya’ll hey! Thanks for tuning into Episode 31 of Tellemtiptoldyou. On today’s episode, I rant about Kanye’s disingenuous appeal to Black Christianity as repeating R. Kelly’s same move in trying to garner our forgiveness. I argue that we did not grant Chrisette Michelle (nor any other Black woman) such forgiveness on a large scale. Such disparity is discussed as a mark of misogynoir marks a couple of other things discussed this week from TI’s coercion of his daughter to have her hymen examined yearly to the foolish trolling we’ve suffered about the Harriet film. Speaking of the Harriet film, you should go see it and you should absolutely download my reflection guide to use to discuss the film with your families. This week, we're talking about so-called "cancel culture". This conversation was brought on by an unlikely source: Chrisette Michelle. Neither of us keep up with daily updates of popular culture, but it seems as though Chrisette is still cancelled(?) and it got us to thinking what sense the whole idea of "cancelling" someone even makes. Although, yes we agree, some people definitely need support pulled from them, what are the rules? How long is the penalty supposed to be for? We have so many questions...

January 15th marks the 35th annual celebration of Martin Luther King Jr.'s birthday as a national holiday (18 years for some states that held out for about 17 years, but anywho...) and we thought it would be appropriate to address a few things (and people) to hopefully get them right this year. Last week, this guy some people call "president" made a controversial (but not at all surprising for him) comment about Haiti and basically the entire continent of Africa when he asked "Why are we having all these people come from these shithole countries?" during a meeting on DACA. Apparently, when "this guy" grew frustrated with lawmakers during an Oval Office meeting as they discussed protecting immigrants from Haiti, El Salvador and African countries as part of a bipartisan deal over the dreamers, he asked “Why do we need more Haitians?”, then suggested we should “Take them out.” Knowing all of this is taking place concurrently with Martin Luther King Jr. Day celebrations, we fully expect there to be a slew of phony well-wishers and unity speakers who on one hand "believe in MLK's vision" but on the other hand and simultaneously refuse to publicly, firmly and finally reject this "president" and everything he stands for. So, we decided to speak our minds and try to warn the hypocrites before they hijack another MLK day with their phoniness - looking directly at you Steve Harvey, Chrisette Michelle, Ray Lewis, Ama...Omo..Omorisa..rosa...whatever the f*ck your real name is - and all the complicit politicians that will stand up on Monday, January 15th 2018 and state how much they admire Dr. King, but their actions during this administration's run has shown otherwise.
This week we introduce our new segment, The Prayer List, where we determine who deserves our precious prayers before the Lawd. Will it be Chrisette Michelle? Kevin Spacey? Tyrese? Robert Mueller? Tune in to find out!!!!

The first season follows the lives and careers of Moore as well as Kelly Price, Lil' Mo, Claudette Ortiz, Michel'le and Dawn Robinson. Season 2 replaces Kelly Price and Dawn Robinson with Lela James and Chrisette Michelle. The Season 2 premiere aired July 2014. Singer and songwriter Chanté Moore's voice, stunning beauty and unerring artistic vision have allowed the Gold-selling R&B singer to enjoy an illustrious two-decade career that is rare in this business. “I have been blessed and honored to do what I love for a living for as long as I have,” confides the dynamic songbird. “My fans who have continued with me on my journey have become a part of me and the music.” Moore's genuine connection with her audience has been forged through her intimate and personal songwriting. Chanté's effortless combination of R&B soaked in gospel roots, soul accents kissed with a touch of jazz, and grace with fire, coalesce on her Shanachie Entertainment debut, Moore Is More. “My heart is overwhelmed with excitement and joy in life and in my music! I have more to give my fans, more than meets the eye, more of the same, and more than what you expect.”
