This weeks' episode is a review of group 3rd Bass and their 2nd LP Derelicts Of Dialect, released in 1991. Rappers Pete Nice and MC Serch elevate their lyrics while DJ Daddy Rich's cuts and scratches are second to none, creating a lengthy album that does not disappoint. Being the last album we ever got from this group, it is an excellent showcase of 90s hip hop and considered a classic. https://www.tiktok.com/@brandonhetzel996?_t=8rSFuzrrl3i&_r=1 https://www.instagram.com/str8_the_clippa/profilecard/?igsh=cTBzNnFhenRkN3Nl https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100086006336425&mibextid=LQQJ4d

From Space Engineers to Hurtworld, Sunkenland and Derelicts...there's no shortage of survival games that we've either missed, or just behind on. What are some of yours?
I found a door at the bottom of the ocean And of course by that I mean I just binged the first season of immersive sci-fi podcast Derelict. In Derelict's first season, Fathom, an ancient artifact resembling a giant door has been found at the bottom of Earth's ocean. To study it, the galaxy's most powerful corporation has built a massive, secret laboratory base surrounding it. Their objective: unlock the secrets of the artifact and discover what it holds inside. But some mysteries should remain buried, and some doors should never be opened. And guess what? Derelicts second season premieres TODAY, continuing the story several years after the events from the first season, this time in the depths of space. Now is the perfect time to binge the first season, and then tune into the second season as it releases. Terry Reid began performing and touring as a professional at 15 in the UK. As a teenager he opened for The Rolling Stones, Cream and Jethro Tull. He was offered the lead singer spot in Deep Purple from Ritchie Blackmore and introduced Robert Plant to Jimmy Page. He's worked and played with so many people over the years but he's been gigging out with George Kapitanelis and his New Jersey based Cosmic American Derelicts for 15 years. These two have a kinship beyond playing music together (ie a shared love of westerns) and we have a great conversation with them about their new album Bergenfield Blues. Besides diving into some of the blues meets country with a bit of southern rock we liked on Bergenfield Blues, we got to hear some road stories from Terry and George. Has gone outside of their usual wheelhouse and ventured into the world of instrumental gypsy jazz with their new album Dinner for Derelicts. QUEL BORDEL (QB!) was formed in San Diego, CA in 2013 w/ a Ukrainian, two Filipino brothers, a classically trained violinist, and a punk rock drummer. After the better part of a decade, they have had multiple releases and kept up a vigorous touring regiment of over 150+ shows a year. The band has toured the US, Canada, and Europe, and they have made a small dent in the folk-punk music scene: coining their own sub-genre “world punk.” After the release of their first full-length CD, Caravan Treasures (nominated for Best World Music Album by the 2015 San Diego Music Awards), QB! reveled in a three-week international festival tour with French folk group BandàpArt (headlining Coin de la Vigne, & FestiBaloche in France), which they repeated again 2016 in the US (headlining Crestfest in Colorado, SD GypsyFest in San Diego, and others) amid several regional tours and resident gigs as well. 2017 saw increased regional touring with a full European Tour (headlining Coin de la Vigne again in France, as well as performances at Festibaloche (Olargues, France), and Highmatland Festival (Leutkirch, Germany) a motif that has continued on as the band currently maintains a vigorous touring schedule and band “bromance” with BandàpArt. In fact the two groups have merged into a side-project super-group known as BandàBordel and released an EP together in 2018. QUEL BORDEL! is noted for their wild performances and danceable beats. QB! has headlined sweaty, high-energy shows at House of Blues (Mainstage), The Holding Company, The Casbah, and has performed at the Get Shamrocked festival 7 years in a row. Likewise, the band has shared the stage with: Flatfoot 56, Metallachi, The Rum Jacks, The Real McKenzies, Diego's Umbrella, Sprung Monkey, Magic Giant, Young Dubliners, Dublin City Ramblers, Bridge City Sinners, Daze ‘N Daze, Dirty Kid Discount, and many others. QB also boasts several television slots (including a feature on TLC's Breaking Amish), as well as new music in the pipeline (three EP's released in under a year and two more on the way).Website: http://www.quel-bordel.com
Jake Skolnick's band Quel Bordel may be the first band who have been told to turn down during a gig because they were upsetting the Whales. Jake talks to Will about the band's new instrumental gypsy jazz album Dinner for Derelicts, his formative years as a teenager in France loving punk rock, being introduced to traditional folk music as a teenager, working as a performer on cruise ships where he met his future bandmates, show Quel Bordel was formed busking on a beach, moving to San Diego to start the band, mixing original show with cover sets, and sets in Irish pubs, opening for the Squirrel Nut Zippers, songwriting, diy recording, and upcoming Quel Bordel releases. https://www.quel-bordel.com/ Listen to Quel Bordel: https://open.spotify.com/artist/7y8GrDd7D6u2R5T0LMKybH?si=o20eeq2oQIuMbSn7psbI_g 25% off Awesome Disaster Merch Thru New Years Day 2022 with code holiday25 here https://between-awesome-and-disaster.creator-spring.com/ Will's Website: www.awesomedisaster.com Podcast Merch: https://teespring.com/stores/between-awesome-and-disaster Did an overhaul of the Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/awesomedisaster

The Passions with Barbara Gogan in conversation with David Eastaugh Based in Shepherd's Bush in west London, The Passions formed in early 1978 as the Youngsters with a line-up of Gogan (guitar, vocals), Claire Bidwell (bass guitar), Richard Williams (drums), Dack Dyde (guitar) and Mitch Barker (vocals).[4] Williams and Gogan were previously in the punk rock outfit the Derelicts. After a name change to Rivers of Passion, soon shortened to The Passions, Dyde was replaced by Timperley (formerly of The 101ers). The Passions' first single, issued in March 1979 on the Soho label, was the double A-side "Needles and Pills" (written by Dyde) and "Body and Soul", which assisted in gaining the band a recording contract with Fiction Records. By the time the band recorded the first of their three Peel sessions in November 1979, Barker had departed and Gogan took over as lead vocalist. Michael & Miranda, the band's debut album, was released on 18 April 1980, preceded by their second single "Hunted". The album was produced by Fiction head Chris Parry and engineered by Mike Hedges. In May 1980, The Passions embarked on a UK and European tour supporting labelmates The Cure. Bidwell left after the tour (joining The Wall), was replaced in July 1980 by David Agar,[1] and the band were dropped by Fiction.

Happy Thanksgiving, and welcome to an early release of CIVIL GORE! For your holiday enjoyment we're discussing a typical family Thanksgiving - food, arguments, and the occasional eye gouging! It's 2017's DERELICTS!

In our final installment, we got none other than the man himself- Fat Nick. For those unfamiliar, Nick was also one of the gentlemen that not only brought us Strength Magazine. This gentlemen has also brought us Scribble Magazine. As well as, the infamous Scribble Jam. Yes. The same Scribble Jam that brought yall Eminem. Make no mistakes about it- Fat Nick is 90s LEGEND, in 2 games. We discuss the early days of Scribble. The rise & fall of Strength Magazine. Swap some wild tour stories. And, all things skateboarding. I'd like to thank both of these gentlemen for their time. And, knowledge dropped. So many culture gems throughout! Without further delay. Lets get to it!- Clyde Singleton

Recording the late night episodes gives me new life. It's like I turn it over to you the audience and I explain that in a fun way. I discuss some breakthroughs from the meditation thought list that I had shared with you 2 episodes ago. Introducing the idea of "Do it yourself, do it with help, and done for you". And even more fun stuff…Show Notes:There was a breakthrough. Recording the late night episodes give me new life. Acronym's for G.O.D. Good Orderly Direction. Group Of (recovering) Derelicts. Great Out Doors. You, the audience, are sometimes my G.O.D.! Tackle this as it is a fun challenge. Tools to get that new perspective. I liked to be challenged; when I want to be. The point of tension for me is sometimes “I want the answer!”. The answer is “Sit down, have fun with it, and work at it.” You should know I really started from scratch. Versions of "I want the answer". “Sounds like this program is designed to teach you how to fish!” Do it yourself, do it with help, do it for you. The "do it for you" is really expensive. L'a-t-on cartographié entièrement ?

Making and completing a film is nothing short of a miracle. Making and completing a film while being diagnosed with Crohn's Disease should be incomprehensible, but it's just another page in Brett Glassberg's story. Brett tells the boys about his Thanksgiving horror film "Derelicts", his days in Austin and how John Waters is a master of dialogue. In the intro, Randy comes of age with Wildlife, Clark swipes left on Bad Match and Russ revisits and regales Bubba Ho-Tep and Phantom of the Paradise. The 101ers were a pub rock band from the 1970s playing mostly in a rockabilly style, notable as being the band that Joe Strummer left to join The Clash. Formed in London in May 1974, the 101ers made their performing debut on 7 September at the Telegraph pub in Brixton, under the name 'El Huaso and the 101 All Stars'. The name would later be shortened to the '101 All Stars' and finally just the '101ers'. The group played at free festivals such as Stonehenge, and established themselves on the London pub rock circuit prior to the advent of punk. The group was named after the squat where they lived together: 101 Walterton Road, Maida Vale, although it was for a time rumoured that they were named for "Room 101", the infamous torture room in George Orwell's novel Nineteen Eighty-Four. The band's early gigs included several at the Windsor Castle and a residency at the Elgin. They were supported by the Sex Pistols at the Nashville Room on 3 April 1976. Strummer claims that this is when he saw the light and got involved in the punk scene. Joe Strummer commented on this event in the Don Letts documentary Westway to the World on the end of the 101ers by saying "5 seconds into their (the Pistols') first song, I knew we were like yesterday's paper, we were over." By the time their debut single, "Keys to Your Heart", was released, Joe Strummer was in The Clash and the band were no more. Clive Timperley later joined The Passions, Dan Kelleher went to Martian Schoolgirls and The Derelicts. Richard Dudanski went on to work with The Raincoats, Basement 5 and Public Image Ltd. Tymon Dogg worked with Strummer briefly in The Clash, playing fiddle and singing his original song, "Lose This Skin", on Sandinista!, and later in The Mescaleros. "I know the 101ers were good. In fact, as far as sound and excitement went we were much better than Eddie and the Hot Rods. The other guys in the group were twenty-five and twenty-six and they played good because they'd spent a few years getting that far. But they were just too old. What I really wanted was to get in with some young yobbo's who I was more in tune with." — Joe Strummer The 101ers' recorded output was initially limited to one single. However, by 1981, interest in The Clash was at its height and a second single and a compilation album Elgin Avenue Breakdown was released. Several of the tracks on the latter album were live recordings, and there is no evidence that the band ever conceived of these recordings as a full-length album. Until his death in 2002, Joe Strummer had been planning to re-release Elgin Avenue Breakdown, complete with previously unreleased tracks that would encompass everything the band ever recorded.[citation needed] The project was completed with the help of Strummer's widow Lucinda Tait and former drummer Richard Dudanski, and released in May 2005 as Elgin Avenue Breakdown Revisited via Astralwerks in the US and EMI in Europe. The last track on the 2005 re-issue was an 8-minute version of "Gloria" recorded on 22 May 1976 at the Cellar Club in Bracknell. This was recorded two weeks before the 101ers finally split. Joe Strummer joined The Clash who played their first gig at the Black Swan, Sheffield supporting the Sex Pistols on 4 July 1976.

Pastor Mike Nazarian - Derelicts To Disciples
A listener favorite, Jonathan Ward, returns with another car in his "Derelict" series. This time it's a 1948 Buick convertible. Like the other Derelicts, its weathered exterior belies its modern upgrades. From its LS9 crate engine back to the Strange 9" rear, this car is a true sleeper.
Pointing UP Living in 3D Is the God that you know worth knowing? Would other people love the relationship with God that you have? Would you be willing to leave your comfort zone to pursue someone whom God puts in your path? People are worth pursuing. If you’re willing, what do you do once you reach the destination – the person standing on the other side of the room? What do you do next? We don’t disagree with the need for people to be pointed toward God, we just struggle with how to get it done. • Develop friendships • Discover their stories • Discern next steps Develop friendships The longer a person attends church, the fewer friends they have who are unbelievers, the fewer discussions about God they have with unbelievers, the fewer opportunities they have to share their faith. This is the path of almost every average Christian. But as we walk with Christ, we ought to see an increasing love for people and an increasing propensity to reach out to them in friendship. Luke 15:1-2 Jesus hung out with people of questionable character and terrible habits and lifestyles. He truly believed that the old could be made new. The fallen can be restored. The prideful can be humbled. The wanderers can come home. The weak can become strong. Derelicts can become disciples. He told three stories telling about how the lost can be found… Luke 15:3-7 Luke 15:8-10 Jesus truly believed in the grace and power of God to transform all, any human lives. He sees people as they can be – not hopeless – not unreachable. He has power to transform any life. If we believed in the grace and power of God, we would develop an insatiable pursuit of all sorts of people at all points on the spiritual spectrum. As you pull into your driveway, fight the temptation to look past your neighbor. Perhaps for the first time, stop long enough to wonder why God chose to put the two of you on the same block. When you go to the store, take four seconds to smile and ask the name of the person behind the counter. If he or she has served you well, then say so. When you run into the drugstore to pick up your prescription, take a good look at the clerk who’s assisting you. What’s that person’s story? Will you carve out 2 minutes of your day to find out? When you bump into a classmate or coworker invest a few moments in discovering if he or she has a spouse or kids – what do they like to do? – be full of grace. • Develop friendships • Discover their stories We all have conversations with people about the weather, sports teams, hobbies, family, and children. But what has life been like for them? What do they dream about? What is going well in their life and what needs work? God made you exactly as you are. He wired you and gave you the temperament and the experience and the background that you have because he wanted someone just like you in just your place at just this time. Acts 17:26-27 26From one man he made every nation of men, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he determined the times set for them and the exact places where they should live. 27God did this so that men would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from each one of us. For the extroverts, you will probably befriend extroverts, for the shy, you will probably befriend the shy. But everyone can be used by God in a profound way in the lives of people around you. • Develop friendships • Discover their stories • Discern next steps Listen for the Spirit’s leading, are they ready to talk about something deeper?
