This goes across technologies, housing models, and service innovations.” — Janice Chia, Ageing Asia ”In a healthcare ecosystem, party interests-- of patients, health providers, funders, government and private insurance-- are not aligned. This results in a lack of help for patients to find the treatment they need, and funders cannot intervene early enough to help keep costs under control.” — Xing Sun, AXA Next Business Innovation Centre Asia ”On average across Southeast Asia, you know, patients will actually visit a pharmacy almost 12 times a year, but when they visit a physician, it's almost 1.2 times a year, right. So when you look at this, this becomes an incredible touch point in terms of patient population.” — Farouk Meralli, CEO of mClinica "When we started out in March, telemedicine was completely illegal in India; there was no way you could tele-consult and give a prescription. So the first telemedicine guidelines were brought out by the government on March 25, 2020. Before that, everything was completely illegal in fact, but the government responded very quickly, considering the pandemic was there. And now everything is well established, and there are clear cut guidelines and rules…within a matter of months, we were doing about 35,000 consults across digital health every month.” — Shuchin Bajaj, Founder and Director for Ujala Cygnus "We should not use our own mentality or our mindset to replace users' mindset. Sometimes it's pretty frustrating, because we know we are smarter than them, but you cannot replace them. You have to think in their own way. You have to think of yourself as the user, not yourself. You have to pretend to be a pregnant mother, who just has a high school education, and figure out what her mindset would be.” — Stanley Li, CEO and Founder of DXY >> Click here to read the transcript Host's Links and Resources: Connect with Tony Estrella: Twitter | LinkedIn | Personal Website Connect with Taliossa Read Tony's Book: Comatose FutureProofing Healthcare | FutureProofing Healthcare APAC index Full White Paper, Summary and Video: A Vision for Asia Pacific in 2050 Follow Digital Health Today: Browse Episodes | Twitter | LinkedIn | Facebook | Instagram Follow Health Podcast Network: Browse Shows | LinkedIn | Twitter | Facebook | Instagram Digital Health Today is made possible by the support of our sponsors. Asparia is a chat bot interface deeply embedded in EHRs like EPIC, and used to engage with patients based on triggers from the electronic health record. Chat bots are a big deal in the healthcare space and we expect them to have a big impact on our ability to manage incoming calls to busy clinics and hospitals. Please join Dan Kendall from the Digital Health Today podcast as our moderator and Chinmay Singh, CEO of Asparia, on the DOCSF Stage. The Venue: This conversation was recorded at DOCSF in January 2020, the weekend before #JPM Week in San Francisco. DOCSF is all about the intersection of digital health and musculoskeletal care. On this Episode 6 of Season 3, we bring you the first case study. At DOCSF, the case studies follow the focus lectures and are designed to make the theory of the lectures practical realities. To do so, we ask a successful digital health company to explain how they were able to deploy their technology in the healthcare space. We will now listen in... as Neeraj Bhavari, CEO of tagnos, explains to our moderator, Roberto Ascione CEO of Healthware International, and his panel of experts how RFID technology and artificial intelligence can partner to solve complex scheduling challenges in the operating room setting. Our guest: This is Episode 4 of Season 3 of the Digital Orthopaedics Podcast. DOCSF is famous for bringing outside thinking to our healthcare audience. From the CEO of Niantic (think: Poke’mon Go) speaking about how to scale augmented reality to change behavior, to the Chief Product Officer of UnderArmour speaking about how their sportswear company is becoming a data company with 230 million people on its platforms, DOCSF shows our audience what others are doing with digital tools outside of healthcare. For 2020 our first awesome Keynote is from Gary Kovacs. When I interviewed Gary about this role, it was clear that his depth of understanding of what it takes to execute on a strategy was exactly what we needed to kick off DOCSF with a bang. Gary is asked to speak frequently at Davos, the World Economic Forum and TED, has lead companies to major exits and run large divisions of the largest tech companies like, for example, IBM. Gary gave an outstanding presentation. Lets join him on stage at DOCSF 2020. Many women find at various times of their lives that their pelvic floor muscles are not as strong as they could or should be. Today on the Digital Health Today podcast, I spoke to health technology entrepreneur Tania Boler, who is the founder and CEO of Chiaro, a company with the mission to develop beautiful and bold products that make a difference to women’s lives. Their first product, Elvie, is an intelligent pelvic floor exercise tracker that combines an insertable, sensor-packed device with an engaging app for your phone.  Tania’s going to tell us more about how it works, what it does, and the impact it’s having.   Tania is passionate about women’s health. She spent most of her career working internationally in the not-for-profit sector, before becoming a health tech entrepreneur. She decided to move into the commercial sector when she became a mom herself and realized the tremendous need for better tools and information to establish, protect and maintain pelvic floor health. Through her research she realized that a technology-based solution was needed, and her product, Elvie, was launched in New York and London in October 2015.   In this episode, you’ll hear about:   The differences in how women in various countries are cared for and educated after the birth of a baby. The two main reasons why women don’t exercise their pelvic floors. The three ways Elvie provides an excellent solution to these problems. How Tania navigated the development, design and production processes with her co-founder, Alexander Asseily.Details on how Elvie works within the body and with its corresponding app.Things Tania wished she knew earlier in the development process.A description of the launch in both the UK and the USA.Finally, a special code for listeners to claim a discount on Elvie.
