‘Living with Ovarian Cancer Podcast' is full of inspiring stories told by people who are living with or have a connection with Ovarian Cancer. Each person's story is a gift to those listening; unique and told from the heart in their own words. I am your host, Diane Evans. After a short break I am delighted to share this episode with you where I am honoured to be talking Doris Locke. Doris originates from America, but she now lives with her Husband in Norwich in the U.K. She was eventually diagnosed in 2017 with High Grade Serous Ovarian Cancer after seeking medical help for some time for pain. We discuss how medical gaslighting is an issue in women's health and that we are dismissed with less serious conditions before an eventual diagnosis of Ovarian Cancer. Doris spoke to me about the importance of the microbiome of our gut and nutrition to sustain health. We also talked about advocating for yourself, the importance of exercise and mindset, and the impact on those closest to us. Doris discussed the use of re-purposed drugs in the Care Oncology Clinic regime (similar to Jane McLellands “How to starve cancer”. I hope you will enjoy listening to the wisdom that Doris shares with us. Be sure to leave a review and share your own experiences with us if you'd like to. Doris mentioned the following organisations in her episode: Care Oncology Clinic: https://careoncologyclinic.com Jane McLelland: https://www.howtostarvecancer.com Gerson Therapy: https://www.cancerresearchuk.org/about-cancer/treatment/complementary-alternative-therapies/individual-therapies/gerson Thank you so much for listening to ‘Living with Ovarian Cancer'. Patreon subscriber month continues with episode 12 of Twin Peaks: The Return. While Cooper fails to resurface in the body of Dougie Jones, Gordon Cole and Albert Rosenfield bring Tammy Preston into the Blue Rose task force. They also offer Diane Evans a less official role, although that may be a ruse to determine whether or not she's in cahoots with Bad Coop. Meanwhile, in Twin Peaks, Sheriff Frank Truman informs Ben Horne that his grandson, Richard Horne, ran over a child and is currently on the run. Richard's mother, Audrey, seems not to care as she's more worried about Billy, her current lover, who happens to be missing. Also, Sarah Palmer goes to the store for vodka. Erik and Justin try to find a new way to recap as Twin Peaks: The Return defies usual TV formats. Justin decries the acting and the editing. Erik finds his way to agreeing with him. He also tries to recall if Billy ever actually appears on screen. Lynch's tendency toward depicting violence against women comes into question. James Hurley continues to be the worst Twin Peaks citizen. A surprising number of ghosts appear. Erik leans on The Secret History of Twin Peaks and The Last Dossier to connect some dots. The pair go further into analysis than usual and the owls are not what they seem.

The business dream isn't always so dreamy. So how do you continue with confidence when it feels like everyone around you is so uncertain about where you're going? This week we're going to get real vulnerable.... We're all about authenticity in The Launch Lounge, and yes, we do share the perceived wins. But we're also committed to keepin' it real and sharing the perceived losses. The world tells us success should be instant. So it's no wonder many of us walk around feeling like utter failures because a 6 figure launch didn't happen immediately! It takes a while for things to start coming together. It takes time before financial results start flying through. And it's all part of the journey, and it's a really good thing because it allows you to get crystal clear on the bits that are working (and ready to scale) and the bits that are wasting your time and resources. But I get it. At times, growing an online course can feel like eating dry cardboard. Data, patience, testing, trialing, zero sales....it can feel like all your hard work is going down the drain. But it's in this very moment when it all feels too hard; you need all the hope, support, understanding, and patience in the world to keep going because you're well on the way to seeing incredible results. Believe me, it's going to happen! It's also at this moment when a shiny, bright bajillion-dollar successful launch story can make you want to throw a hammer at your laptop and scream, WHEN IS IT MY TURN! So this week on The Shine Show, we're going to get honest about the online course journey. The highs, the lows, and everything in between. My courageous, brilliant student Diane Evans from PhotoFluent transparently & bravely shares her online course journey. Even though her course teaches travellers to take photos they feel proud of, her business journey has been anything but picture perfect. Rather than giving up, Diane has stuck to her vision and found a way to keep the hope alive, find confidence within herself, and stay true to her dream. If you're losing hope and feeling like things are taking forever to happen, this episode is exactly for you. Don't let the feeling of failure shape your future. Tune in now and hear Diane's story for yourself! It'll inspire you to keep going even when it feels tough. XXX Salome P.S. The Launch Lounge doors are opening for a limited time only. One of the things that can make or break your success is the community you surround yourself with. A community that supports you, cheers you on, and understands a growing list is JUST AS exciting as a full bank account. The Launch Lounge will fast track your progress and show you how to get results without wasting time & money along the way. It seriously pays for itself. Spots are strictly limited, so make sure your name is on the waitlist!
Will the real Dale Cooper please stand up!! Things are popping off, and we don't just mean irritable accountants! Gas up the jet, gang, because this is Part 16: No knock, no doorbell! This astonishing week: Jennifer monitors mysterious soundscapes; Damon checks Agent Cooper's vital signs; Jonathan reveals hidden truths about Diane Evans; and Colin asks if Twin Peaks is life. For the Twist, we join the magical Sherilyn Fenn on the dance floor and move to the groove that is “Audrey's Dance.”LISTEN: Apple Podcasts | Google Podcasts | BuzzSprout | Spotify | RSS | and more!S3, E16 NOTES:David Lynch (episode director)David Lynch, Mark Frost (episode writers)
This week's episode is an especially poignant episode as I speak to a very brave and special lady about the reality of navigating death in life. Diane reached out to me as she has been listening to the podcast to give her the reassurance that after her own death, her husband, son and loved ones will be able to carve out a new and happy life for themselves. Diane is living with metastatic ovarian cancer and wanted to come and talk about the reality of living with cancer from her own lived experience, as the patient, and the grief and loss she is experiencing and what she wishes for her loved ones when her time comes. Diane openly shares how her work as a palliative care clinical nurse specialist, has helped her face her own diagnosis, and be able to talk about the things a lot of us would find very overwhelming and distressing. That's not to say it's easy for Diane, far from it, but it provides a coping strategy allowing Diane to talk about it in a professional capacity stepping back, for moments in time, from the reality she is talking about herself. However, in this podcast Diane shares a lot of her own grief within her diagnosis, how she feels about death and dying, and the reality of saying goodbye to those she loves dearly. We discuss; The different ways people grieve, Anticipatory grief, Guilt, New relationships in widowhood, The importance of communication, Hopelessness and depression, Existential crisis, The healing power of nature, living with uncertainty, What death looks like, And wishes for her loved ones in life after loss. I have to say, this is one of the most powerful conversations i've had, and one of the bravest. Diane is incredible, her wisdom, kindness and openness offers so much to so many and I feel honoured to have been able to share this time with her. As Diane so eloquently states, live life simply, find joy in simplicity, look for the good, find gratitude and always be kind. Wise words we could all learn from. Thank you so much for your time Diane, it has been an absolute pleasure. If you wanted to reach out to Diane or find one of her support groups here are the links to all her offerings. Diane Evans, whose father was Ukrainian, tracked down her relatives near Lviv in Western Ukraine just two-and-a-half years ago. Since then she's met them for the first time and been in frequent contact. When Russian forces invaded Ukraine she wanted to help the Ukrainian people and refugees fleeing the war. Over just two days her business, Evans Lee, collected over £100,000-worth of donations of medicines and bandages, bottled water, canned food, toiletries, baby milk and food, and good quality clothing. Then with the help of volunteers and businesses which gave the use of warehouses, vehicles, staff time and more, Diane organised, boxed and packed the donations. The goods have been transported to the Polish border and distributed to Ukrainian refugees.Diane joins me to discuss how she searched for and found her family members in Ukraine; the donation drive and being overwhelmed by the generosity of people and businesses; other ways to support the Ukrainian people, including by offering accommodation; and the Help Ukraine Emergency Appeal and The Association of Ukrainians in Great Britain, which is working with accredited and registered Ukrainian charities to provide medicines, food and critical services. We also talk a little about housing and running a family business – Evans Lee has been established for 9 years – with Diane's top tips about the "small little bits that make a difference."Also in this, episode 364 of Business Live: if you're an extraordinary business leader, creating social change, then a £10,000 award from the Cambridge Social Innovation Prize could be a game-changer for you. We don’t often hear the stories of women who served in Vietnam, especially those who deployed directly to combat zones. Diane Evans is one of those women who had the opportunity to serve as a nurse in combat in Vietnam in areas where humanity seemed only a ragged shred of existence. She joined the military in the late 1960’s with the intent to go to Vietnam. Like her brothers and other young men she knew in her rural Minnesota town, she felt a sense of duty and calling to serve her country in a time of war. She would fulfill that duty serving in Evacuation Hospitals on the front lines, one of which was located not far from the Cambodian border in the Central Highlands. She would do this at the young age of 21, from 1968-69, arguably the most brutal year of the Vietnam War. When Diane returned home, she found herself fighting a different war: the fight for recognition for the women who contributed so bravely to the war effort in Vietnam. After a nearly 10-year battle, her dream was realized in 1993 with the dedication of the statue commemorating Vietnam-era female veterans as part of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C. Bob and Diane Evans discuss the shocking and devastating affects of social media on the lives of our children. Do we ban them from using social media? Do we let them do whatever they want? "I've had the ability to practice at about thirty hospitals and it's amazing to have all of these different things you can learn just by being part-time; going places, meeting new physicians and nurses... learning so much from all of these professional people in different areas of the country" Introduction Hey there Happy Doc family! We are very lucky to present to you this week's guest, Dr. Diane Evans, DO. As an OB/GYN physician, she works with CompHealth (Locum Tenens Company), and has a company: Passing your OBGYN Boards which works with OB/GYN specialists on their oral boards studying. Utilizing Locum Tenens, Dr Evans has the freedom to be a part-time physician at small clinics and hospitals around the country allowing her to, further gain exposure in a variety of hospital cultures, and hone her procedural skills . Enjoy this week's episode! Bio Dr. Evans originally was molecular biologist who turned to the D.O. track at the University of Health Sciences in Kansas City, MO. Prior to her decision in her specialty as an OB/GYN, she had her sights set on Internal Medicine. However, in her third year of medical school during her OB/GYN rotation, she realized that this field was the right choice for her. As she progressed in the field of medicine, she became enthralled with the idea of helping small communities and yet still leave a big impact. Thus, she turned to CompHealth, a Locum Tenens Company. She realized that she can enhance her surgical skills by practicing in different facilities and find positions with various interims, ranging from a couple weeks to a full year as a locum physician. On the other hand, Dr. Evans has an adrenaline rush to her persona. As an owner of 1988 and 1975 Corvettes, she spends some of her free time as a certified low-speed racer. *** Locum's Challenge: If you had the opportunity to redesign your work schedule, what would it look like and where would you be?
