Trent Dilfer is a former NFL quarterback who played 14 seasons and was a member of the Baltimore Ravens Super Bowl XXXV championship team. After a long post-playing career as an ESPN broadcaster, Trent is now the head football coach for Lipscomb Academy in Tennessee. Tori Dilfer is Trent's daughter and a professional volleyball player with Athletes Unlimited and a former college volleyball setter with the University of Louisville. It is my favorite podcast right now (other than this one!), and there are so many great lessons for us to learn from it.Bledsoe and Dilfer were talking about the way the Patriots operate and how not all teams and coaches operate that way. This quote prompted me to talk about two other quotes in this episode, too - one by Dilfer and one by me.

This might be the most important quote I've ever done on the show. Okay, that's probably a stretch and a bit of hyperbole, but I'm not sure that it is. It's also not meant to discredit all the great quotes that I have talked about or that our guests have talked about. It's just that this quote is all about the discipline to do everything in your life the right way so as to maximize your chances for success and your impact in the world.It comes to us from former NFL quarterback and current high school football coach, Trent Dilfer. I'm sure Dilfer himself would tell you he didn't come up with the quote because I have heard him say something to the effect of, "You know what they say..." each time I've heard him say it. Still, he's the guy I first heard it said in this way, so I am giving him credit for at least bringing it into my life the way he said it.It's a great quote about the importance of taking care of all of the supposed little things in life that are ultimately huge if we are going to be our best.

1.30.20 After the show opens with what some people are saying the greatest opening song to a podcast ever (someone has probably said it), the boys dig in to their Super Bowl 54 preview. They go over some of their head to head prop bets that could end up forcing Tanner to run a beer mile in a costume. Then Tanner goes over his Twitter beef with Trent Dilfer (it was one sided though as Dilfer never responded). The boys follow that up with their thoughts on Chicago fans, Philip Rivers and electronic strike zones. They finish the show strong with some good segments- Ban It, Whose Flying High, Idiot of the Week and your movie recommendations heading into the weekend.
