How to Spot people's "pain bodies," avoid and even see past them, bringing them to their higher selves. This week we go over Radiohead's classic "Karma Police," against Ekhart Tolle's brilliant lens.
As more and more pharmaceutical products come onto the market, there are so many potential drug interactions, and adverse reactions, to bear in mind during a consultation in primary care. In this week's episode, we speak to Anders Holt, the author of a recent research paper looking at co-prescribing nitrates and sildenafil, which is surprisingly common, and adverse events associated with this. We also discuss the neuropsychiatric side effects of montelukast with Corine Ekhart, and talk about the challenges of striking the right balance between highlighting a rare but important side effect and causing the patient anxiety about taking the medication. Our guests: Anders Holt is a PhD candidate at Copenhagen University Hospital, Denmark. Corine Ekhart is a pharmacist at the Netherlands Pharmacovigilance Centre Lareb in 's-Hertogenbosch, the Netherlands. RUN In this week's PLUS-SIZED-EPISODE, in addition to our training updates, we are featuring an interview with the founder of Ekhart Yoga, Esther Ekhart. Aimee has been a long-time member of Ekhart Yoga and Esther’s classes have been a major part of coming back from injury but more importantly, it has been a key cross-training element for Aimee’s running program. The running playlist on YouTube was how Aimee initially found Ekhart Yoga, and since then she has subscribed and been a loyal member for several years. Of course, everyone should consult a doctor before adding anything to their fitness regime. Esther and her fellow instructors offer modifications during yoga classes so you can do each pose at a level that works for you. The Ekhart Yoga website is searchable by the level of yoga expertise, teacher, the time you have available, the specific use you are looking for, and much more. Here are all the ways you can connect with Ekhart Yoga to find out more and to see the 30-Day Challenge Esther talked about on the show: Ekhart Yoga 30-Day Yoga Challenge Ekhart Yoga on Instagram Ekhart Yoga on Facebook Ekhart Yoga on Twitter Ekhart Yoga on YouTube EAT When we went to Walt Disney World a few weeks ago, we were going to celebrate our wedding anniversary. So we are featuring an upscale meal we had while in the parks that did not disappoint. This week, we flashback to a meal we would have again and again at Yak and Yeti inside Animal Kingdom there. The restaurant itself has an eclectic mix of artifacts meant to transport you to a hotel at the foot of the Himalayan mountains where travelers would stop on the way to Mount Everest. The cuisine is a tasty mix of Asian dishes, and our appetizer of pan-seared dumplings with a soy-lime dipping sauce was mouth-watering and tangy with a rich pork filling. Dana’s entree of Honey Chicken was sweet yet crunchy with the tempura chicken and included jasmine rice to soak up all that awesome sauce. Aimee had Korean Beef which combined barbecue flavors with tender beef, crunchy veggies, and jasmine rice. So good! We can’t wait to go back and try the duck and the coconut shrimp dishes. It was special-occasion-worthy! Here’s the link to the Landry Select Club that Dana gave as a tip in the show! Check out the benefits! DRINK Yak and Yeti had an extensive list of cocktails, and we both found ones to enjoy. Aimee tried a rum-based beverage developed by the bartenders there called the South Seas Traveler. It tasted like a sweet vacation beverage! Dana had the Snap Decision, which featured Woodford bourbon and apricot brandy. It was one we would order again! Two delightful drinks to top off our anniversary celebration! THAT’S A WRAP! If you love what you hear, now, you can become a patron and support the show! What do cities have to do with climate change? Actually a lot! When Ekhart Hahn started to study city design, electricity was seen as an abundant resource. That changed with the report of the Club of Rome “Limits to Growth” when he realized that cities are actually big energy-consuming beasts. A stream of food, products, water, etc. goes in and we get tons of wasted material out. Not a really great system isn't it? Ekhart believes that with modern architecture and the right design he can tourn the view we have on cities around. Ekhart says: “Modern cities are designed for consumers. The eco-city will be designed and organized for humans again.” With ecocity he is building the biggest ecosystem for the future of modern life I have seen so far. It's big, it's ambitious it's crazy. How he will bring his ambitions to reality and how far they actually are, is what you find out by listening to the podcast.

I’m back with my business bestie, Carolina Vennie, of Yogaleena Yoga Studio & Boutique this week and we’re discussing Eckhart Tolle’s powerful book, A New Earth, Awakening to Your Life’s Purpose! What is Our Ego? Today we talk about how to tell the difference between our true self and our image. Some Things To Think About How can you shift? How can you express your presence, not your lecture? How can you be the example by your actions, energy and awareness? For me, this book reinforces that I need to be my best me so that I can show up and help others without saying anything. The more we’re aware, the more we’re able to create space for others :) Need Some Help? Yoga Radio Sessions #31: Through being injured, Julie Martin, yoga master from Hawaii, discovered that a bunch of traditional yoga movements did not work for her. So she found her own way - a yoga full of circular, tender movements, sometimes resembling dance. For yogis accustomed to the rigid and static yoga, it´s often a surprising and rewarding revelation to see that this yoga makes perfectly sense. In this pod, Julie Martin, explains where she got it all from. Via dance, she entered the yoga world, and today she´s a highly visible and popular representative of the un-orthodox, inventive yoga which does not fear neither influences from other forms of movement nor new research into the body, for example the fascia - research that might lead to having to throw some of the old stuff overboard. She shuns yoga as an excluding practice where teachers post selfies on Instagram with demanding poses in the sunset. Her aim is to have classes that are alive with young and old, big and small, athletic and less flexible - everybody´s welcome (and I can certify that theses classes are fun too!). She also gives advice on how to find your way as a yoga teacher and explains why today´s assembly line teacher training does not meet the standards. Notes from the pod: One yoga-teacher who gives Julie inspiration is Erich Schiffmann. Her hot tip for reading at the moment is “You are the placebo” by Joe Dispenza She was very intrigued by the HBO series “Big little lies”. And yes, she does eat a red steak with a glass of wine now and then. You can find Julie on www.brahmaniyoga.com I highly recommend watching a few of Julies videos on YouTube, vimeo or Ekhart yoga to visually grasp what her yoga is all about. You will understand why I take pride in being influenced by her style. • This is a pod about yoga and life. Recorded in the Cocoon Room at the Downtown Camper Hotel where Scandic and YesYoga offer free yoga every Sunday at 5 PM - keep track on the yesyoga.se Facebook-page. It’s time for one of our theme episodes again. This time we’ve latched onto Gerrard Butler and his hilarious filmography. Starting with a dual discussion London Has Fallen. Butler must escort president Ekhart though London while stabbing everyone within arms reach like Roberto give a freshly honed shiv. Tim then talks about Law Abiding Citizen.
