An action packed weekend leads nicely into the GSP, with Phil and Josh talking about all the major stories of the weekend. Joey Logano did his best Scott Dixon impression while fading five GWC's and 30 extra laps to win the Cup race at Nashville and lock himself into the playoffs.  Logano blocked Chase Briscoe into the gray and left Tyler Reddick looking like Kurt Angle in his TNA Wrestling days. Tire fall off was minimal but rubber laid down on the track, with the rain delay making the race worthwhile. Briscoe was officially introduced as the driver of the Bass Pro Shops Toyota in the Cup Series earlier in the week.  On the XFinity side, John Hunter Nemechek led a JGR 1-2 finish with Keebler Gibbs and Cole Custer being the other standouts on a boiling hot day. Christian Eckes led every lap of the Truck Series race to build his case as the top contender over Corey Heim for the Truck Series title.  Formula 1 brought out an old story but with a different opponent at Austria.  Fish Lips proved once again that he cannot race wheel-to-wheel with someone who may be as fast or faster after moving more than Floyd Mayweather on his "friend" Lando Norris and knocking both of them out of contention.  Phil lets loose on FL since he and his team won't take any accountability.  He still finished fifth and got the fastest lap while Lando and McLaren chose to retire the car.  The drivers who picked up the scraps were Woody Russell for his second career win, Oscar Piastri who probably will wonder if his lap hadn't been deleted in qualifying along with Carlos Sainz the driver for Ferrari.  The GSP Roundup covers F2, F3, MotoGP, Moto2, NHRA and an update on John Force, Formula E and Robert Wickens getting behind the wheel of an open-wheel car for the first time since his accident at Pocono, WRC Rally Poland and sadness in the leadup, Supercars and Indy NXT before the guys come back to preview and make picks for the F1 British Grand Prix.  IndyCar comes back to start the hybrid era at Mid-Ohio and the insanity that is NASCAR on a street course returns in Chicago for Cup & XFinity.  Josh lets us know all things going on iRacing in his Sim Segment prior to the promotions.

NOTE: This was recorded before the news of the Nyck De Vries, Daniel Ricciardo deal. More on that next week! But this was a weird British GP. The weather largely behaved itself. Instead of being a typical tyre shredder, it ended up a one-stopper with as little an amount of tyre reg, or delta that we've seen all year. And while Max Verstappen continued to make history with his 6th straight win and the 11th in a row for Red Bull.... a new challenger approached! McLaren had a brilliant 2nd and 4th, with Norris' strongest drive in an F1 car to date, and Oscar Piastri pretty much matching him stride for stride, only missing out on a podium due to the late Safety Car. A marvellous performance from the Woking team and yet another conundrum for who's got the 2nd best car in F1. Does anyone know? We also talk Cara Delevingne knocking back Martin Brundle's interview request at the British GP. Dre and Cam break down why so many fans don't seem to understand the basic concept of "No means no.", and what's led to such fan entitlement over the issue. And is it time for another chat about Perez? We think it is after five straight weekends without making Q3, and Red Bull having the vote of confidence chat with the press about his future. More on that on a hepaed Motorsport101!

On this week's Cut to the Race, Oli is joined by the full panel of Abby, James M and Sam to dissect the British Grand Prix, which saw Sam enter the F1 paddock. The panel discuss the action that was Qualifying, which saw Max Verstappen "ruin everything" in Lando Norris' words. They also touch on the shock exit in Q1 as well as the red flag, which saw Verstappen destroy part of his car. Afterwards, the quartet give their world-famous National Anthem reviews before diving into the action of the British Grand Prix. The four panellists discuss the amazing opening laps of the race that caused major cheers at the circuit as Lando Norris took the lead at his home race whilst Oscar Piastri proved the McLaren upgrades were working. They then move on to the unfortunate events of Ferrari's race as both Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz had underwhelming performances with mixed strategy calls that didn't work in the team's favour. Oli and the panel continue dissecting moving onto Mercedes' performance and whether Lewis Hamilton was just 'lucky' under the Safety Car before they chat about the battle between Lance Stroll and Pierre Gasly that resulted in a five-second penalty for Stroll. After their review, the panel go through the standings and a hint of what they expect to happen at Hungary in a couple of weeks. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

SportsPro editor at large Eoin Connolly, digital editor Tom Bassam and senior writer Sam Carp catch their breath just long enough to look back on an incredibly dramatic and impossible tight finale at Lord's, where England snuck past New Zealand to win the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup for the first time.  They also review the seven-week tournament, asking what could be learned from Sky Sports' late deal to bring the final to Channel 4, how far the event broke out beyond cricket audiences in the UK and elsewhere, and what changes might take the competition forward in the next edition in India in 2023.    There's time to take in news of a new NBA CMO from the social video space, and a new women’s sports marketing firm from Wasserman, The Collective. Then the team reflect on the rest of split-screen Sunday, which saw UK viewers in particular scrambling to watch the cricket, the F1 British Grand Prix and an epic Wimbledon men's singles tennis final at the same time. What, if anything, can broadcasters and event organisers do to enhance a multi-sport, multi-screen experience?
