We tour the ruins of Side 4 in Mobile Suit Gundam Thunderbolt: December Sky and Bandit Flower where the Federation's Moore Brotherhood goes head-to-head with Zeon's Living Dead Division for control of the Thunderbolt Sector during the One Year War.  Or as we like to think of it - that time when a bunch of Federation volunteers led by some rich kids fought amputees over control of a junkyard in a universe where ice sinks.  We discuss how prosthetic technology seems to have regressed, Zeon's patented shoot n' scoot strategy, the Federation's tendency to slap first and ask questions later, the Psycho Zaku's bootleg psycommu, and the Atlas Gundam's magic skis that also somehow both fly and float.  Plus, we talk about pies!

After a two-week break for the holidays (during which we posted a podcast blooper reel on Crunchyroll and released the Crunchyroll Holiday Special), Victoria and Evan are back in the office to talk about the upcoming anime they're excited about, the state of anime convention attendance going into 2016, and the 1980s time capsule that is Fight! AnimeCons.com released their annual list of the top anime conventions by attendance. Correction: "Warm bodies" refers to the number of unique people who attended for the entire weekend. "Turnstile" is the number of times someone walked through a (possibly metaphorical) turnstile, so it often counts people multiple times. Evan finally watched Fight! Iczer One, one of Victoria's favorite 1980s OVAs. Evan watched the first episode of Gundam: Thunderbolt, and he and Victoria marvel at an excellent first-person shot. Correction: The Gundam is called the FA-78 Full Armor Gundam. "Thunderbolt" is the name of the sector in space that the series takes place in.
