Yes, it's a wrestling reference given that the only two on here for this show have names that start with A. And yes, this show is late, once again due to a more-than-hectic week. Apologies for the not-great scheduling, but we're working in the background to get things more stable. Also, there's a thing happening on November 5, so maybe do it either on that date or before - you all know what the thing is, it doesn't need to be said. Anyway, we've got an abbreviated recap of the summer season, thoughts on Look Back and MHA: You're Next, a major shift for GKIDS, and the biggest change to the One Piece anime yet - that's all in the first hour, and there's plenty from NYCC to dive into, both good and not-as-good. Convention season is wrapping up and we've got some bangs to go out on, for sure. We'll be back with the fall dub cast rundown next time, after... you know, the thing happens. Get ready to explore the captivating relationship between Tatsuya and Miyuki Shiba, as we dissect the layers of their unique sibling connection set against a backdrop of magical prowess and technological brilliance. We promise that by the end of this discussion, you'll gain a deeper understanding of the series' compelling narrative and occasional missteps. Our journey through the magical society of "The Irregular at Magic High School" wouldn't be complete without highlighting the intriguing character of Angelina "Lina" Kudo Shields, a.k.a. "Angie Sirius". As we unravel her role and interactions with Tatsuya, you'll see why her character adds an extra layer of complexity to the anime. Alongside this, we draw parallels to other popular series like "Naruto" and "Boruto," exploring themes of societal pressure and familial expectations. And don't worry, we've saved room to indulge in a little nostalgia, reflecting on anime classics like "Hitman Reborn," while also sharing our excitement for the potential return of fan favorites like "Blue Exorcist."While we celebrate the anime's strengths, including its visually stunning effects and memorable soundtrack, we also tackle the challenges it faces, particularly in later seasons. Expect a critical yet appreciative look at the series' progression, with honest takes on character development and plot cohesion. We also shine a light on the anime's empowering portrayal of female characters, giving them moments to steal the spotlight. And here we are, running down the major bits and pieces from Anime Expo once again, all while the industry is threatened more now than ever in recent memory of suffering from a bursting bubble. It's best to enjoy things while we still can, but that does include plenty of upcoming projects like... more Fire Force and Blue Exorcist... but there's more TRIGUN and Panty & Stocking coming so it all balances out in the end. And that's not withstanding the folks from RWBY getting a new place of employment at Viz Media, the newest arc of One Piece getting ready for its dub premiere and the long-awaited finish line of "simuldub" inching closer and closer, and even a new film project from Shoji Kawamori in the works as well, along with plenty more to dive into and discuss. There's a lot to get to as we're in the heat of convention season, so for this "landmark" 175th episode, we're... going to do the same as usual. Except it's molten hot outside, so that's what makes this a bit more special. I think. A little bit of FYI for those who are curious: most shows we do are initially recorded anywhere from 2-3 hours in one call, though sometimes it can be a little longer than 3 hours, while the editing process can take anywhere from 6 to 10 hours to scroll through everything and make the necessary cuts and edits in several editing sessions. So if anyone's wondering why these shows take a while to come out, that's why. It's a one-man editing operation on a MacBook Pro, at the end of the day. We'll be back to talk SDCC and Otakon very soon. ntro - happy 175th, the heat is still unbearable 4:04 - pre/post-AX news items 57:15 - Anime Expo 2024: signs of an unstable industry 1:04:12 - the BIG announcement(s): BLUE BOX + NETFLIX 1:09:55 - Day 1 1:47:50 - Day 2 2:28:58 - Day 3 4:04 - Demon Slayer going back to the theaters 15:12 - the new Rose of Versailles film is a MAPPA production 20:37 - Magic Knight Rayearth 30th anniversary anime project announced 24:06 - Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha 20th anniversary movies re-edit announced 26:36 - Kisemonogatari compilation film in theaters in August 29:13 - Kadokawa acquires Doga Kobo 35:04 - Science SARU producing SANDA series from BEASTARS creator 37:10 - Crunchyroll fixes review bombing by disabling EVERY comment section 42:49 - THAT scene in Rent-a-Girlfriend will soon be upon us 46:05 - coming to SDCC: Adult Swim vs. AEW 48:29 - some Toonami updates: Sailor Moon and… something else 55:16 - BOCCHI THE CASSETTE TAPE 56:39 - late from Japan Expo: DEVILMAN CRYBABY BLU-RAY IS COMING AX Day 1: 1:09:55 - TRIGUN STARGAZE 1:13:01 - NEW Panty & Stocking 1:15:12 - Witch Hat Atelier 1:22:15 - Garden of Remembrance 1:24:11 - Batman Ninja sequel film 1:26:03 - Shoji Kawamori directing a new original film 1:27:01 - Kodansha USA 1:44:05 - BEASTARS season 4 1:45:21 - Grotesque AX Day 2: 1:47:50 - Viz Media acquires RWBY 1:54:53 - J-Novel Club 2:06:53 - Yen Press 2:20:27 - DENPA/Kuma 2:24:17 - Bleach: Rebirth of Souls 2:27:42 - One Piece Egghead Arc dub 2:28:58 - Tokyopop still sucks 2:30:09 - Uzumaki dub cast 2:32:07 - Special Kid Factory 2:33:37 - Bleach: TYBW 2:37:03 - MHA: You're Next release details 2:42:50 - new Blue Exorcist and Black Butler seasons 2:43:38 - Crunchyroll 2:51:43 - AX Cinema Nights Apple Podcasts – https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/podcastona/id1348141210?mt=2 Spotify – https://open.spotify.com/show/2JZLO3LfoeHepomejTw4TP iHeartRadio – https://www.iheart.com/podcast/256-podcastona-43099114/ TuneIn – https://tunein.com/podcasts/Podcasts/PodcastONA-p1249922/ Where to find us: Alex – @AuraOfAzure, https://xandersmachinations.wordpress.com Andrew – @MangaMan9000, youtube.com/DubTalk Jet – @Divinenega, https://thenerdyabyss.wordpress.com As always, check out surrealresolution.com for more content, and follow @SurrealReso for more updates on the show, our continued news posts, reviews, and our fellow podcasts.

In this episode of the podcast, hosts Mike and Senae reunite after a long break and dive into a wide range of intriguing topics. They begin by expressing their sympathy for Jonathan Majors, who lost roles due to his legal issues, including the coveted Marvel Kang role. The hosts discuss the missed opportunity and ponder the consequences for Majors' career. Next, Mike and Senae touch upon the cancellation of HBO Max's "Rap Sh!t" and their appreciation for the show's second season. They then delve into the world of anime, sharing their thoughts on popular series such as "Solo Leveling" and "Blue Exorcist" season 3. They also express their excitement for the upcoming seventh season of "My Hero Academia." The hosts take a thought-provoking turn as they analyze the friendship dynamics among the characters of "Dragon Ball Z." They question whether the Z Fighters are truly friends or merely allies who work together out of necessity. They further explore the relationship statuses of Yamcha and Bulma, speculating on Yamcha's feelings towards Vegeta, who seems to have taken his girl. The conversation shifts towards the downfall of actor Columbus Short, who has experienced a decline in quality roles. Additionally, Mike and Senae share their amusement at KevOnStage's hilarious cosplay and reactions to anime, particularly his take on "Death Note." Moving away from entertainment, the hosts express their disdain for Jason Whitlock, echoing the sentiments of Stephen A. Smith who publicly called him out. They also touch on miscellaneous topics, including their upcoming birthdays and cherished childhood memories. Concluding the episode, Mike and Senae make plans to catch up on "Solo Leveling," "Blue Exorcist," and the live-action adaptation of "Yu Yu Hakusho" on Netflix, teasing an exciting lineup for their next recording. With a detailed conversation encompassing a multitude of entertainment and anime subjects, this episode offers a captivating podcast experience for fans of the genre.
