M10 & M12 (Globular Clusters in Ophiuchus) - Binoculars: Sweeping through central Ophiuchus reveals these two bright globulars in the same binocular field. They appear as soft, distinct bluishgray spheres. - Telescope: In an 8-inch telescope, M12 resolves well into individual stars across its core, while M10 appears somewhat more tightly packed, brighter toward the center, and slightly fuzzier at the edges. - Compare the two side-by-side: Despite being located near each other in our sky, M12 has lost a significant portion of its lower-mass stars due to repeated passages through the Milky Way's dense galactic disk.   2. M107 (Globular Cluster in Ophiuchus) - Binoculars: A challenging target for binoculars; requires dark skies and averted vision to spot as a minute, faint smudge. - Telescope: Small-to-medium telescopes reveal a delicate, somewhat un-concentrated patch of light with a loose core. - M107 contains noticeable dark dust lanes or obscuring regions, which is relatively rare for a globular cluster, giving it a unique visual texture in medium-to-large scopes.   3. M9 (Globular Cluster in Ophiuchus) - Binoculars: Similar in scale to M107, though slightly brighter and easier to catch in 10x50s on a clear night. - Telescope: Small scopes show a bright, unresolved central nucleus surrounded by a faint, grainy halo. - M9 is located remarkably close to the Galactic Centre—only about 5,500 light-years away from it. It lies near dark nebulae like Barnard 64, making the surrounding starfield visually compelling.   4. M19 & M62 (Globular Clusters in Ophiuchus) - Binoculars: Separated by about 4 degrees, both fit easily into a standard binocular field of view south of M10/M12. They look like round, soft patches brightening toward their centers, with M19 appearing noticeably brighter. - Telescope: Smaller telescopes show compact, fuzzy disks. Moderate magnification begins resolving outer stars on both. - M19 is famous for being one of the most distinctly oblate (egg-shaped) globular clusters known, likely due to tidal forces from its proximity to the galactic core. - M62 has an asymmetric core, heavily deformed by galactic tidal forces, and hosts a rich population of millisecond pulsars.   5. M6 (The Butterfly Cluster) & M7 (Ptolemy's Cluster) Scorpius - Naked Eye: Both are bright and obvious to the naked eye under dark skies near the "stinger" of Scorpius. - Binoculars: Binoculars provide the absolute best view. Both clusters fit together in a wide 10x50 field. M7 is larger and brighter; M6 displays a striking butterfly-like star arrangement. - M7 is one of the oldest recorded deep-sky objects, noted by Ptolemy in 130 AD. - The orange giant star BM Scorpii, which sits on the wing of the "Butterfly" in M6 and adds a nice pop of stellar color contrast.   6. M8 (The Lagoon Nebula) Sagittarius - Naked Eye: Appears as a distinct, hazy patch in the Milky Way band above Scorpius. - Binoculars: Shows as a huge, glowing oval patch—larger than the full Moon—with several bright stars embedded within it. - Telescope / Filters: A UHC or O-III filter enhances the dark dust lane ("the lagoon") bisecting the bright nebulosity. - M8 is an active star-forming region containing Bok globules (collapsing clouds of protostellar gas) and the famous "Hourglass Nebula" region at its core.   7. M20 (The Trifid Nebula) Sagittarius - Binoculars: Located just 1.4 degrees northwest of M8. Appears as a faint, ghostly glow surrounding a central triple/multiple star system. - Telescope: Medium scopes under dark skies reveal the dark dust lanes splitting the bright emission portion into three distinct lobes. - M20 is a rare "triple threat" nebula containing an emission nebula (red in photos), a reflection nebula (blue in photos), and a dark dust lane network (Barnard 85) that gives it its name.   8. M21 (Open Cluster) Sagittarius - Binoculars: Situated right next to M20. Appears as a small, compact, bright knot of stars. - Telescope: Low-power views easily resolve 20–30 stars packed tightly together. - The "Trifid Trio": In wide-field eyepieces or binoculars, you can view M8, M20, and M21 all in a single field of view, offering one of the most spectacular Milky Way vistas available to visual observers.   9. M23 (Open Cluster) Sagittarius - Telescope: Low magnification is key. Small telescopes easily resolve over 80–100 stars spread across a wide field in subtle arc-like patterns. - M23 sits against a rich background Milky Way star field, making low-power wide-field views ideal. The All Blacks sent a warning at Loftus, and suddenly the 1st Test has heated up . We unpack that 50-point statement, what it tells us about the side heading into Ellis Park, and the selection headaches now facing Rassie as the Bok 23 takes shape. We also revisit Ma'a Nonu's incredible solo haka in his return to the rivalry, before asking who gets the nod at 9 and 10 & who fills the gaps if Siya and Ox are out.

The Greatest Rivalry Tour is officially underway, and naturally that means it's time for everyone to start drawing enormous conclusions from a handful of rugby games that probably don't deserve enormous conclusions.First up, the All Blacks took on the Stormers in Cape Town and, for a good chunk of the game, it was a seriously butt-puckering affair. The All Blacks stuttered, spluttered and at times played more like poo than an international rugby side, while an under-strength Stormers team — missing their Springboks — gave them absolute hell. The ageless Deon Fourie was somehow still out there causing problems, before the All Blacks eventually located their rugby brains, pulled away late and finished with a 38–21 win.Then it was the Springboks' turn, heading to Argentina with plenty of big names left back in South Africa but still carrying some serious quality. Against an under-strength Pumas side, however, they made life look considerably harder than anyone expected.Cue several days of South African fans and pundits performing Olympic-level mental gymnastics explaining why the Bok performance was actually encouraging while the All Blacks' was apparently evidence that New Zealand rugby had entered its final death spiral.The more boring answer? There probably wasn't that much to read into either game.Then came Durban.On a sodden track, the All Blacks faced the Sharks in game two of the Greatest Rivalry series — and suddenly Ma'a Nonu appeared in a Sharks jersey. Because apparently 2026 has completely stopped obeying the normal laws of rugby.Before kick-off, Nonu produced one of the most surreal and memorable moments of the tour so far, standing alone and returning Kapa o Pango with a one-man haka.Unfortunately for the Sharks, that was about as competitive as the evening got.The All Blacks absolutely pumped a young Sharks side 54–0 in what eventually became more training run than test of character. Nonu arrived around the 60-minute mark, produced a couple of nice touches, and reminded everyone that he remains approximately 400 years old and still capable of playing professional rugby.Elsewhere, Australia edged Japan in a relatively tight affair, we attempt to decide whether anything we've seen so far actually matters, and begin the inevitable overanalysis as the real meat of the Greatest Rivalry Tour creeps closer.Sorry this one's a little late.Massive thanks to Sports4cast.com for the beers.Grab a beer and Enjoy

C'est l'un des plus grands projets miniers au monde, porté par des investissements de près de 20 milliards de dollars. L'exploitation du gisement de fer de Simandou, en Guinée, a été lancée en novembre dernier. Des promesses de croissance économique. Mais qui doivent s'accompagner de retombées concrètes pour les populations, pour ne pas reproduire la situation de Boké. Zone d'exploitation de la bauxite où le manque de services de base se fait régulièrement sentir. C'est l'une des conclusions d'un rapport que vient de publier le Timbuktu Institute de Dakar, intitulé Au-delà de Simandou - La Guinée, une fragilité à plusieurs visages. Pour en parler, son directeur régional Bakary Sambe est notre invité. Il répond aux questions de Magali Lagrange. RFI : L'exploitation du gisement de fer de Simandou est lancée. Est-ce qu'elle peut faire décoller la Guinée ? Bakary Sambe : Oui, les attentes économiques autour de cette exploitation sont quand même considérables. On anticipe aujourd'hui, avec la Banque mondiale, une croissance guinéenne parmi les plus élevées du continent. Le risque qui a été identifié dans cette étude n'est donc pas que Simandou échoue économiquement. Le risque, c'est que la réussite macroéconomique du projet masque, comme à Boké [région de l'ouest de la Guinée qui concentre de fortes réserves de Bauxite, NDLR], un dénuement local assez persistant. C'est cette tension entre promesse macroéconomique et attente locale immédiate qui constitue le véritable test politique de Simandou dans les prochaines années. Qu'est-ce qu'il faut dans cette région pour satisfaire les populations. De quoi ont-elles besoin ? Les populations ont besoin d'hôpitaux, d'écoles, d'infrastructures. C'est la redistribution rapide et visible de la richesse, ce qui n'est pas évident. Et ce qu'on voit dans les chiffres annoncés, c'est qu'une croissance est attendue. Mais d'un autre côté, on ne dit pas la manière dont cette croissance sera partagée, comment cette zone-là va bénéficier, immédiatement et directement, des retombées de Simandou et des ressources qu'elle génère. Bref, il s'agit de tout un ensemble de demandes en termes de services sociaux de base dont la Guinée manque cruellement, notamment dans les régions fragiles de Kankan et de Nzérékoré, où le minerai est certes là, où les promesses sont quand même assez importantes, mais où les résultats sont attendus par la population. Vous avez cité l'exemple de Boké, qui est une zone d'exploitation de bauxite. Quel bilan fait-on là-bas et quelle est la situation aujourd'hui dans cette zone ? Dans le rapport, nous parlons de Boké comme le laboratoire du paradoxe minier. Boké détient à elle seule près des deux tiers des réserves de bauxite guinéennes, mais souffre en même temps d'un déficit criant en routes, en eau, en électricité, en infrastructures éducatives, et les routes se dégradent à chaque saison des pluies. Des explosions de colère s'y succèdent depuis près d'une décennie, avec récemment des émeutes pour le retour de l'eau et de l'électricité qui ont fait un mort et une trentaine de blessés. En décembre 2025, la grève des enseignants a dégénéré, et je crois que c'est le signe que la colère sociale à Boké se retourne désormais aussi vers des catégories locales, au-delà du seul État ou des compagnies minières. Qu'est-ce qu'il faut faire pour que les retombées soient plus palpables et que les richesses soient mieux redistribuées ? Qu'est-ce qui manquait jusqu'ici ? Ce qui manque - au-delà des discours de souverainisme sur une emprise annoncée de l'État et des Guinéens sur leur propre richesse - c'est de gérer cette fragilité plurielle, notamment dans des zones minières. Rappelons que Simandou se trouve dans les zones les plus fragiles en termes de velléités ethniques et qu'aujourd'hui, si le projet Simandou n'est pas accompagné d'une politique sociale définie qui puisse, à moyen terme, générer des retombées concrètes pour les populations, alors Simandou ne pourra pas effacer les fragilités structurelles de la Guinée. L'autre recommandation est de considérer que cette fragilité en Guinée a plusieurs visages. La situation n'est pas identique selon qu'on soit à Ratoma [près de la capitale, Conakry, NDLR], à Dalaba [dans le centre-ouest du pays, NDLR], à Boké, ou ailleurs. Il faut désormais une approche différenciée de cette fragilité structurelle en Guinée afin de répondre aux besoins spécifiques de toutes les régions. Une autre fragilité que vous identifiez dans le rapport, c'est la situation politique en Guinée. Certes, dites-vous, il y a eu un retour à la normalité institutionnelle avec les élections de fin d'année. Mais vous estimez que tout cela reste encore fragile. Oui, il y a en Guinée un changement de statut, plus qu'un changement de nature du pouvoir. Le retour à l'ordre constitutionnel a modifié le statut juridique de la Guinée, du pouvoir, sans transformer les pratiques. Par exemple, l'interdiction des manifestations est en vigueur depuis mai 2022. On voit que les partis politiques et les médias indépendants ont été suspendus. Et le point le plus sensible aujourd'hui, à mon avis, reste les disparitions et d'autres phénomènes qu'on voit en Guinée, qui montrent qu'il y a une fermeture de l'espace civique qui n'est pas seulement anecdotique. Elle prive les mécanismes informels de médiation, comme le travail des sages ou des leaders religieux, de leur capacité à dialoguer avec un État perçu, jusqu'à présent, comme étant un État qui réduit les libertés et les droits des citoyens. La Guinée, de manière générale, ne peut pas être aujourd'hui seulement analysée avec Simandou et toutes les promesses économiques. Il faut une politique d'inclusion sociale, et l'un des sujets les plus importants aujourd'hui en Guinée, c'est la question de la cohésion sociale. Si ce rendez-vous culturel accueille aujourd'hui un public de plus de 250 000 personnes, il a débuté dans la pénombre d'un petit bar, grâce à la volonté d'un ancien danseur et chorégraphe guinéen nommé Lamine Touré. En 1985, il fonde le désormais mythique Club Balattou, pour « bal à tous, à tout le monde », berceau des musiques du monde à Montréal. Après une enfance entre Boké en Guinée et Bouaké en Côte d'Ivoire, Lamine Touré passe une décennie en Europe, puis s'installe dans la plus grande ville du Québec. À son arrivée en 1974, il constate que les Africains ne sont qu'une cinquantaine ici, et qu'ils ne font pas communauté. « Quand je suis arrivé à Montréal, j'ai trouvé que chacun faisait sa culture, mais chacun dans son coin. Alors moi, j'ai dit : "Mais non, ça c'est pas normal." C'est mieux qu'on trouve une façon de rassembler tout le monde, pour que par exemple nous, les immigrants, on puisse profiter. Mais les Québécois de souche aussi vont profiter. Parce qu'à travers la culture, on peut se connaître », explique-t-il. Le premier lieu du genre au Canada Ni une ni deux, Lamine Touré fonde le Club Balattou, boulevard Saint-Laurent. Le lieu rassemble les cultures africaines, antillaises et latino-américaines et devient rapidement une institution. La première discothèque africaine du Canada est tout en longueur, avec une scène très proche du public, des canapés en cuir, des miroirs aux murs et au plafond. La chanteuse sud-africaine Lorraine Klaasen évoque avec émotion ce lieu mythique : « Des fois, je passe là-bas au Balattou, je vois les petites photos là où j'étais jeune avec beaucoup d'autres artistes, je me dis "Oh mon Dieu". Cela existe toujours comme un lieu où tu vas aller vraiment écouter les musiques africaines, si tu veux danser. Et il y a le miroir. Donc quand j'y chante, je me regarde moi-même dans le miroir (rires), il y a mon reflet, je me dis "Oh Lorraine, you are cute'' (''Oh Lorraine, tu es mignonne"). Alors, si tu veux vraiment aller dans une place où tu veux écouter la musique africaine, va au Balattou. » Un refuge où rencontrer sa communauté Papa Wemba, Youssou N'Dour, Boubacar Diabaté, Oumou Sangaré… Tous les désormais grands noms de la sono mondiale sont passés par le Balattou. Au-delà de la musique, le lieu devient un repaire, un refuge où se sentir chez soi, peu importe d'où l'on vient. « L'accueil qu'il y a au Balattou, tu ne trouves ça nulle part ailleurs. Parce que moi, je fais l'accueil à l'africaine. Supposons si je viens chez toi, dans ta maison, dès que je rentre, qu'est-ce que tu fais ? Tu me serres la main, non ? C'est ce que je fais au Balattou jusqu'à maintenant. Depuis que j'ai ouvert, je suis toujours là. » Du Club Balattou au festival Nuits d'Afrique Lamine Touré voulait faire du Balattou un lieu familial, mais il se heurte à une limite légale : l'interdiction du club aux moins de 21 ans à cause de la vente d'alcool. « Il faut faire quelque chose. Parce que si ça reste comme cela, il n'y a pas de relève. C'est à ce moment-là que j'ai pensé à faire Nuits d'Afrique en plein air. C'est pour la famille », se souvient-il. Deux ans plus tard, Lamine Touré sort les cultures afrodescendantes du Balattou et les déploie dans les rues de la ville pour toucher les plus jeunes. The ASX 200 closed unchanged on futures expiry day at 8841, after an afternoon rally in the banks gathered pace, with CBA up 1.8% and NAB gaining 1.3%. The Big Bank Basket continued its recent run higher to $285.73. Financials were generally firmer, with SOL up 3.3% and GQG gaining 1.1%. REITs also pushed higher, led by SCG up 0.5% and SGP rising 2.0%. Industrials and technology stocks found buyers, with WES up 1.2% and ALL gaining 0.3%, while retailers edged higher as JBH rose 1.8%. Healthcare stocks also regained some poise, with CSL and RMD both moving higher. In the technology sector, buying returned to XRO and WTC, while REA had a strong session, up 6.6%, after reporting growth in listings. That helped lift CAR and SEK as well.Resources, however, were once again out of favour. BHP's quarterly failed to excite the bulls, with the stock down 2.3%. RIO also slipped, while FMG fell 1.1%. Lithium stocks remained under pressure, with PLS falling sharply and LTR following suit. Gold miners were mixed, with NST down 0.1% while GMD gained 1.5%. Oil and gas stocks eased as crude prices slipped, with WDS down 1.5%, while coal and uranium stocks also drifted lower.In corporate news, NWL reported record funds under administration (FUA). Wat op het eerste gezicht lijkt op expres iets weigeren, storen of escaleren, heeft vaak een aanloop: een overgang die schuurt, een taak die te moeilijk is, spanning van thuis, onzekerheid of een leerling die nog niet goed weet hoe hij met emoties kan omgaan. Juist daarom ligt de sleutel niet alleen bij het corrigeren van gedrag, maar bij het leren kijken naar wat eraan voorafgaat. Over de vraag hoe de leerkracht sleutel is tot gedrag in de klas praat ik met Tessa de Bok, leerkracht speciaal basisonderwijs, redactielid van JSW en schrijfster van het activiteitenboek voor verlies en rouw. En Ruchama Brunsveld, orthopedagoog en leerkracht in het speciaal onderwijs. Momenteel is ze kwaliteitscoördinator bij basisschool Aventurijn in Houten. Allebei schreven ze mee aan het themadeel van JSW over gedrag in de klas! In dit gesprek staat de rol van de leerkracht centraal: als degene die structuur biedt, voorspelbaar reageert, relaties onderhoudt en tegelijk de veiligheid van de hele groep bewaakt. Dat vraagt pedagogische tact. Soms helpt nabijheid, soms duidelijke consequenties, soms een rustmoment, en soms is extra observatie of expertise nodig. Een belangrijke lijn is dat positief gedrag niet vanzelf ontstaat door vooral te zeggen wat niet mag. Leerlingen hebben baat bij concrete verwachtingen, rustige routines en volwassenen die benoemen wat wél helpt. May 19, 2028 comet C/2025 D1  (Groeller) reaches its closest point to the Sun some 14.1 times the Earth-Sun distance and thus sets the record for the comet which stays furtherest from the Sun.After rounding the Sun comet C/2025 D1 (Groeller) will head back into truly deep space perhaps never to return.   - On March 3, 2024 my Catalina Sky Survey teammate Kacper Wierzchos was asteroid hunting with our 60 inch telescope on Mt. My Catalina Sky Survey teammate Vivian Carvajal was asteroid hunting in the constellation of Eridanus with the 90 inch, University of Arizona's Bok telescope on Kitt Peak when she was treated to an amazing sight. Comet COMET 240P/NEAT with a small version of itself cruising along beside it.It is virtually impossible to predict if Vivian's fragment 240P-B will survive to make another approach to the Sun in 2033 or so.

Add chicken stock, heavy cream, and soy sauce to pot; bring to a boil 2. Remove mixture from heat and whisk in cheddar 3. Season with togarashi, salt, and pepper Cheeseburger Ramen: * 2 tbsp grapeseed oil * 1 onion, sliced * 1 lbs ground beef * 1 tbsp togarashi seasoning * 1 cup Bok choy, chopped * 12 oz bunches ramen * 4 eggs * 2 TBSP grapeseed oil * 3 tbsp kimchi * 1 bunch scallions, sliced * Salt and pepper to taste 1. In a pan, add grapeseed oil and onions and cook over medium heat 2. Add ground beef. Once browned, add Bok choy. Then season with togarashi, salt and pepper. 3. In a separate sauté pan, add grapeseed oil and eggs. Drop heat to low and cook until eggs are fried. 4. Incorporate beef into cheese sauce 5. Add ramen noodles into a pot of boiling water, cooking for 1 minute. 6. Add ramen noodles to cheese sauce and cook another minute. 7. Place ramen on plate and top with kimchi, cooked egg, and scallions Non-Dairy Sweet Chili Ramen: * 2 tsp sweet red chili sauce * 4 ½ tsp toasted sesame oil * 3 tbs tamari * 1 thumb ginger, peeled and minced * 3 garlic cloves, peeled and minced 1.
