Morning Mantra: "One of the hardest things for us to do is to love someone where they're at. Especially when where they're at is somewhere we don't want them to be." One of the greatest gifts we can give people is learning to accept where they are without adding our expectations to their burdens. It's easy to love the people in your life that love you back, that take the high road, that have their life in order, that know how to regulate their emotions, that show you respect and offer little or no drama to your life. It's much harder to love the ones that are always bringing conflict, don't know how to love you back, and that seem to enjoy the roller coaster they bring to their life. However, you cannot judge, condemn or criticize them. It doesn't work. You can offer alternative perceptions or practical information depending on the situation, maybe even some reflections from your own experiences, and you can be their advocate. Because it's really not up to anyone else to decide or influence where someone else should be. It's their journey. It's not up to us to be a problem solver either, I know sometimes we can't help ourselves. Another word for this is enabling. It doesn't work either. The thing is, that's often not what our love one need from us anyway. Sometimes they just need to be seen and heard, and feel like someone 'gets' them.If it's too painful for you to do that without injecting your opinions or judgment, then step back. Let them figure it out. If you can't be supportive, love them from afar.#BeLessJudgeyInYourLove #BeHorsey #BeHippie #HorseHippie #MorningMantra #WordsToInspire #InspirationalQuotes #HorseHippieBoutique #SmallBusinessOwner #WomenOwned #HorseHippieBoutique

The additional oak interaction builds the sweetness to balance out the spice from the rye in the mash bills, creating a unique combination of intense flavors, character, and complexity with each expression.Dixon's vision is to revolutionize the category, a shift away from the overplayed nostalgic American whiskey storyline, and create an innovative Brand backed by the incredible liquid in the bottle. The 2XO brand consists of an everyday blend offering (Oak Series), a series of limited-time, small batch blend offerings (Icon Series), and a series of single barrel releases (Gem of Kentucky).A New Breed of BlenderDixon Dedman is a 42-year-old blender who has quickly established himself as one of the most prolific American whiskey blenders in the industry known for his high-proof, robust bourbon and rye blends. He grew up on the whiskey trail infusing the learnings from industry legends with his culinary expertise from running his family's business, the famed and James Beard award-winning Beaumont Inn. His credentials are unsurpassed among high-end whisky retailers, writers, and collectors. He's a foodie, a wine connoisseur, runs marathons, and is a sneakerhead who connects with a broad range of drinkers, from millennials to boomers.A chili cook-off is a social event or competition where participants prepare and submit their chili recipes for taste testing by a panel of judges or the public, with prizes awarded to the winners. Here's a more detailed explanation:The Concept:Chili cook-offs are essentially culinary competitions focused on chili, where individuals or teams create and compete with their chili recipes. The Process:Participants prepare their chili, often in advance, and submit it for judging or public tasting.Judging:Judges (or the public) taste the chili and evaluate it based on various criteria, such as flavor, spice level, and overall taste.Prizes:Winners are awarded prizes, which can range from bragging rights to cash or other rewards.Variations:Chili cook-offs can range from small, informal gatherings to large-scale events with official sanctioning and significant prize pools.Organizations:The International Chili Society (ICS) and Chili Appreciation Society International (CASI) organize and sanction chili cook-offs.Fundraising:Many chili cook-offs serve as fundraisers for charities.Other Activities:Some chili cook-offs feature additional activities, such as live music, raffles, and vendor booths.Whiskey judging is a structured process where experts evaluate and score whiskies based on their appearance, aroma, taste, and overall impression, often in blind tasting competitions to determine awards like gold, silver, and bronze.

S5 E12 - Still Minding The Beehive - Surviving Sex Crimes, Part 12PHASE 3 - Speaking out, JenniferCW/TW - DISTRESSING CONTENT - detailed accounts of grooming, sexual assault and/or abuse of a minor, mental health. This season is more serialized than it is episodic, and we felt the urgency to raise awareness on all types of sex crimes - starting with Sexual Extortion, or "Sextortion". For today's episode, we speak with Jennifer for near finale. Jennifer is a bright and kind human being with a smile that literally lights up a room - but hidden behind that smile is a world of trauma and unanswered questions as she was sexually assaulted at a young age by another child. Jennifer has only wanted answers, closure and to pursue her right to records via FOIA, but unfortunately she's continuously silenced or brushed off. This episode will be disturbing, and yet, bring on plenty of questions because this is something that you rarely, if ever, hear about - it happens way more often than people talk about. I've been pretty judgey most of my life. I only recently found an antidote that works for me every time. It is going to be a challenge I will probably have for the rest of my life, but this tool of empathy is something I plan to get better and better at using. I talk about how having a lens of empathy can help decrease the amount of judging I do in my life.

Thanksgiving is here, and I'm feeling stressed. I remember what it was like when my kids were little, and we had to go to all the extended family gatherings. It was exhausting trying to keep them entertained and well-behaved. I came up with a plan to make it more bearable. I called it "present engage time." I would spend the first hour or so with them, just focusing on them and making sure they were comfortable. It was a great way to bond with them and create positive memories. I also gamified the annoying things that relatives would do. I would play the "but of course they did" game where I would make a joke out of the annoying things that my relatives would do. It was a great way to relieve some stress and tension that comes with the holidays. In this episode, you will learn the following: How to turn a stressful Thanksgiving into a positive bonding experience with your kids How to gamify annoying or judgy relatives How to use humor to your advantage in difficult situations As always, thanks for listening, and be sure and head over to Facebook and you can join my free group Mastermind Parenting Community, where we post tips and tools and do pop up Live conversations where I do extra teaching and coaching to support you in helping your strong-willed children so that they can FEEL better and DO better. Jared, Joey, and Jake were in Philly this weekend to watch the Phillies win three straight against the Padres to advance to the World Series. The voicemails are OPEN to Phillies fans and we're listening to callers come full circle on a team that was in the dumpster earlier this year. We're talking Bryce Harper's MASSIVE game-winning home run in Game 5, Rhys Hoskins putting the team on his back in Game 4, and what it was like to watch 40,000 scumbag Phillies fans see their team win a pennant. In the American League, we're talking about the Astros sweeping the Yankees to eliminate them yet again in a season where so many Yankees fans thought it was their year. We're breaking down what's next for the Yankees and where they go from here, possible landing sports for Aaron Judge, front office and manager positions potentially being up for grabs, and the astronomically low ticket prices for Game 4. Joey may have some inside info on his pal Judgey and also has to make the difficult decision of picking between his Astros and Phillies in the World Series.
