Margaux Lassalle revient sur le nouvel album du duo australien Angus et Julia Stone, intitulé "Karaoke Bar". Pour marquer cette sortie, le frère et la sœur, qui ont formé leur groupe il y a une vingtaine d'années, étaient d'ailleurs les invités du Drive RTL2 vendredi 4 septembre dernier pour une interview et un live à retrouver en podcast sur le site de la station pop-rock. Fidèle à la complémentarité qui fait sa force, le duo célèbre à travers ce nouveau disque le pouvoir rassembleur de la musique, recréant l'atmosphère chaleureuse d'une soirée karaoké, à l'image du morceau-titre folk qui ouvre le bal. Si l'on retrouve avec plaisir les harmonies vocales qui font leur signature, ce projet s'éloigne légèrement du folk acoustique de leurs débuts pour explorer une palette sonore plus large. Enregistré entre l'Australie, la France et la Grèce, l'album intègre des arrangements plus groovy, des claviers et des touches électroniques. Cette évolution s'illustre parfaitement sur le titre "Monroe", conçu dans les mythiques studios Miraval dans le sud de la France, ou encore sur Brightest Place, une véritable surprise aux textures électro où leurs voix s'aventurent même du côté du vocoder. L'exploration musicale se poursuit avec "Celestial Bodies", un morceau planant dans lequel les Australiens s'aventurent sur le terrain de la dream pop, avant de surprendre avec "Cowgirls Lover Boi", un titre qui apporte une touche country à l'ensemble. Le phrasé plus parlé d'Angus sur cette piste n'est d'ailleurs pas sans rappeler par moments l'univers de Gorillaz. Derrière son refrain fédérateur, la chanson délivre un message politique puissant et profondément ancré dans son histoire : un appel vibrant à la restitution des terres natales aux aborigènes d'Australie. Au fil des années, ce classique a traversé les frontières et les genres musicaux, donnant lieu à des relectures souvent inattendues. En 2004, le groupe allemand Novaspace s'en empare pour le transformer en un surprenant hymne eurodance, rencontrant un franc succès en Allemagne et en Autriche. Meghan Pulles is a folk indie singer-songwriter coming from an operatic background. She has been writing songs since the age of 17. She believes that music is medicine, and that by sharing her pain and struggles through song that she can empower others to do the same. In 2022, Meghan released the singles "Rabbit Hole" and "anxiety" which is a song seed from her debut album on her "sighs of her" EP which is set to be released this summer. Meghan coined the term "emo-positive" for her music because she doesn't want to be put in a box but her vibes can be in the indie folk/pop/singer-songwriter realm. She wants her listeners to get healing from her music, and to know that they aren't alone in their own struggles. Her sound can be described as Regina Spektor meets Joni Mitchell. She has been compared to the likes of Mumford & Sons, Fleet Foxes, Angus & Julia Stone, First Aid Kit, and The Head And The Heart. Meghan is currently recording her debut album about healing through emotional abuse, planning to be released in 2023 and working with producer Harper James who is known for his indie band Eighty Ninety and solo project Middle Youth. She recently signed with Aurally Records powered by The Orchard, subsidiary of Sony.    Mason Ingram is a composer, session drummer, and Ableton programmer, living in Nashville. He is one-half of ambient music group slowave, acting as writer and producer.    He has been the drummer on Broadway's Kinky Boots, The Prom, and RENT (Off-Broadway). He has had the privilege of working with Bibi Bourelly, Angus & Julia Stone, Paul Baloche, The Discovery Channel, 070 Shake, Lewis Capaldi, NOTD, All These Small Moments, The Lone Bellow, Walking Shapes, Annaleigh Ashford, Shacks and Palaces, and Matt Doyle. He is a member of bands The Last Royals, Hundred Hounds, and Young Oceans, and has played on Broadway's The Lion King, The Waitress, Finding Neverland and Little Shop Of Horrors.     Mason also loves working in Abelton Live, from programming, to writing, and recording. He has programmed backing tracks for Broadway shows and pop tours including the current production of Little Shop of Horrors, La Jolla Playhouse's FLY, Pretty Woman London, Young Oceans, The Last Royals and many others.      Growing up in Austin, TX, he spent 13 years in Brooklyn, before moving to Nashville, where he currently lives with his wife and son. He loves writing, producing, mixing, collaborating, learning of any kind, and finding out new ways of creative inspiration.    He has appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Late Night with Seth Meyers, The Late Late Show with James Cordon, The Wendy Williams Show, LIVE with Kelly and Ryan, and Live at Lincoln Center, along with countless US and European tours.
