My postpartum weight loss journey so for I wasn't sure when i would be ready so i didn't set a start date… I put no deadlines or dates on this- it's important for you to let your body and schedule lead The first month Waiting until you're ready Starting weight/current weight Started at about 160/165 Currently at 132 Overall goal is 120 to 125 Mindset was my number one focus: How do i want to approach this: With love for my body and what it is going through Taking time to look in the mirror and admire my body as it is…my stomach all stretched out and my skin loose LOVE NOT about pain, punishment, restriction or deprivation Those get you into the pendulum This is a hectic time, mindset is really important With all of the craziness i anchored myself to: I want to lose weight more than i want to use food to manage my emotional state Emotions i focussed on: Love Calm Confident: Really easy to get pulled into doubt, worry and overwhelm that you are not doing the right thing, that your body can't handle it Grounding myself in confidence that my body knows best Wary of: Doubt Stress Overwhelm Anxiety I experienced all of these! And I am still experiencing them to a lesser degree. These are some of the most common emotions that we eat to negate, so be aware of them What i teach my clients and what i did in this process was anticipate them and decide ahead of time how i would handle them. I was always willing to make changes that were best for my body and my baby if my milk production changed I took a break from losing and just maintained during three weeks of December/January You can always take a break and maintain! Lessons learned This process really deepened my connection to my body and if you look at it that way, that this is an opportunity to love your body more, appreciate it more for what it is capable of, then this is really a wonderful honor in many ways Take it at your own pace. If you are just starting with this approach you will need to give yourseslf grace to work on this while also taking care of your baby. You will have some frustrating moments, that's ok There were days I made food and it got cold before I ever got to eat it, there were days my husband made me breakfast and it was just a bunch of cinnamon rolls but I couldn't really get to making myself anything healthier or better. There were days i felt a ton of stress or anxiety and snacked a bunch- beating yourself up over this is not helpful Pitfalls Other people's opinions: You wont make milk You didn't want a baby Breastfeeding will melt the fat off Lead into eating whatever you want and still be able to lose weight which may not be true Really similar to what we hear about eating for two when pregnant Breastfeeding wont melt the fat off Your hormones will prevent you from losing weight You wont be able to lose weight until after you stop breastfeeding You'll be too thin to make milk Breast feeding- do you need all the carbs or you won't make milk Whatever the opinion is….it is just taht, an opinion. Don't take it as fact. Do your own research, most importantly listen to your body!! Carbs and milk: i looked this one up and there were some studies done Eating really quickly Sleep Hydration I had a worry that my body would never bounce back, you hear that all the time that you can't lose the baby weight, your body wont be the same- people told me taht while i was pregnant and I didn't know if it was true, what to believe What i found was that those were also opinions! Yes, things change, but you have so much more power than you realize!!!! Do not get sucked into other peoples mindset, create your own A client of mine is actually postpartum and she had had difficulty getting the weight off. She thought it was 100% hormonal. Here is what we worked on When you believe it is 100% your hormones, you stop listening and go into all of these thought patterns: Whats one more bite I may as well because hormones Nothing i do works so… And when i told her to just slow down, only focus on her bodies signals she realized she was eating way more than her body needed! It was there all along she just didn't see it until i pointed it out For this reason I am really confident that what i do with clients helps no matter the hormonal or metabolic state- because that becomes a mindset and our eating shifts because of that mindset. There is always wiggle room Is it ok to be hungry This is something i talk to my clients a lot about because what we focus on is letting our bodies signals lead. I let my body tell me when it is ready for fuel as my guide to when i eat There is a lot of talk out there about eating enough to keep up with milk so i was actually worried about experiencing hunger because of what might happen to my milk supply…so i experimented with it and have had not one issue with milk supply and hunger Individuality This is my experience. First and foremost you have to honor your body and your unique situation. I spoke with someone who wanted to work with me and she said her baby wasn't sleeping. I told her this is not the time to get into weight loss, once your baby is sleeping and your hormones get a chance to regulate then let's talk Don't do anything until you feel ready

Speaking the Truth in Love: Not always just what you say, but the heart of where it is coming fromAll families fight. But how should Christian families, and the family of Christ, handle conflict and resolution? This four-week series will explore the way Scripture addresses conflict, divisive issues, and the hope of the gospel to bring reconciliation and healing to tense or broken relationships. Rather than avoiding difficult topics entirely or fueling the flames of controversy, Christians have the option of faithful engagement.Questions for the Road1. What is God revealing to you about speaking truth in love? 2. How well are you able to hear truth in love?3. Do you currently have relationships with others that allow you to be sharpened?

S.209 Love Not the World – Remember Lot's Wife by Apostle Grace Lubega
If God created the world and said, "It is good", why is John telling us Love Not the World?
Love: Not a feeling but a commitment to sacrifice for the good of others. Who do you need to build a bridge with this week? Who do you dislike that you need to better understand their life or situation? Who can you sacrifice something for (think more your kindness, your presence, your words rather than money, but listen as God leads) without any expectation of anything in return?
Laurence Sibley - James 4:4 - Love Not the World - Jun 25, 2022
In this episode Dennis discusses the world system and how Christians so easily get entangled in the world system. It's something that we ought to be more concerned about seeing as how the Bible tells us that if "anyone loves the world system then the love of the Father is not in him." That seems fairly serious. The world system is set up by Satan to deceive us so how would we know if we were being deceived in to loving it? The answer is not readily apparent. For this reason most Christians do not plan to get ensnared by the world and walk far from God but, as Andy Stanley says, "they do not plan not to."So in this episode Dennis discusses some of Watchman Nee's book "Love Not the World" and how Christians fall prey to the predations of the world system through how we use our finances to buy things of the world, how we choose lifestyles that can entangle us with the world, and even how we can trust in the State to save us when really the government is just a worldly instrument that is capable of great evils. 1st John Series • 5. Love Not the World – 1st John 2:15-17 pt. 2 Elder Lowrance concludes his message about how and why we ought to love one another. We can only love and serve God by loving and serving one another. Jesus Christ came and showed us pure love, and that same love abides in every born again child of God. It is by loving others we truly fulfill our calling as God's people and gain full assurance of our salvation. This message was preached on January 31, 2021.

It is only by walking more like Christ that we gain assurance of salvation and find liberty to live our lives in joyfulness. This message was preached on January 31, 2021.

Love Not the World | Live: 1 John 2:15-17 | Pastor Duke Crawford
As many of us worldwide shut our doors and prepared to enter what could perhaps be the longest period of social isolation of our lives, I phoned up my beloved friend and colleague, Jason Tantra, at his home in Bristol, United Kingdom on April 7th. I have many reasons to call on Jason. For one thing, I love his sense of humor and deeply admire his ability to organize the world's largest network of Gay Tantra teachers and activists...But called him on this day with a very explicit agenda: To find out what MOTIVATES him the most. I wanted to know that could motivate someone to invest countless hours and dollars in creating the world's first conscious dating app for gay men, and then to invite every teacher he loves to join him there and advertise our wares. Here’s what I learned in the hour I shared with Jason, with seagulls calling to us from beyond his windows: We are evolving the way we define relationships. We’re now experiencing a global transition in the way we relate to one another as gay and bi men…. That battlefield you see outside of yourself is YOU. How you judge and assess everything is YOU, and the only way we are EVER going to make a difference in this world is to find LOVE… Not just that “special someone,” but first…the love in our hearts, to transform our existence from the inside-out. Jason, in one of his moments of infinite wisdom, said these words: ”One of the greatest freedoms is knowing you have a choice how you wish to perceive, and how you wish to be in the world. For me, that is the ultimate truth. We keep getting it tested. As humans EVOLVE, we keep having tested what we thought we were, to break us into a new paradigm or a new evolution of what we can be. The one thing for me that has led through all of that time is LOVE. That’s why I do what I do. Trust me…it’s not for the money.” Beloved friends and colleagues, feast your ears upon the creator of the world’s first conscious dating app for gay men, Jason Tantra. To join more than 6,000 men on the world’s largest existing network of excited, consciously-awakening gay men, go to bradamberheart.com and follow the link I’ve set up directly to the Tantra4GayMen network, which you can access via our laptop, desktop, tablet, or phone. See you there!
Proverbs In 365 Devotions For more go to braggingonjesus.com Proverbs 20:13 Love not sleep, lest you come to poverty; open your eyes, and you will have plenty of bread. Love Not, Love What? R Aylor I think the first word in this proverb is the key to the root of its meaning. In fact, it’s a key to the outcome of many things including life itself. What we love sets the track for our day every day… It helps us put in order our to do lists for a particular day or the plans we make for our week. If we ponder what we love… For example: I like metal detecting, playing guitar, visiting with friends, studying Gods word, eating… which I need for health and energy to do the rest, I like money a lot… It even helps support my metal detecting, purchasing guitars… and of course you need money to eat… I like going to church and fellowshipping with believers and hearing Gods word. So then, how would I order my to do list? If my priorities were in line with God it might go something like this: 1 - Study Gods word every morning 2 - Play guitar every morning 3 - Go to work to make money to support what I love 4 - Eat 2-3 times a day 5 - Fellowship with family and friends daily 6 - Go metal detecting on Saturdays 7 - Go to church to community worship every Sunday and Small groups Sunday evenings. Of course thats a very small chunk out of our life. We must prioritize a whole lot more that affects many more people than our own self. Of all the things we pursue in life, Solomon says sleep is not something we should love. Of course when you’re extra tired… there is a context for loving sleep I think… I don’t believe thats what Solomon is saying. Dont chase after the kind of sleep that is kin to laziness. Dont desire to sleep your life away as a way to hide from the trials of the world. Dont write it as a goal in your high school year book. Solomon says open your eyes, and you will have plenty of bread. In the previous verse we read how God has made the seeing eye and hearing ear… We dont utilize either of these things when we sleep. God did not create us to have a passion for sleeping. Its a gift from God and its necessary for our bodies and it shows us our need to depend on God because of our frailty but our mission in life is not to sleep. There is a saying that “A ship is not meant for the harbor, but for the wide open sea.” Ships were meant to carry people and merchandise through storms and wind and turbulent and tumultuous waves across vast oceans… That has always been their mission. They were not created to sit at dock… I think most things age and decay more quickly when they just sit idle not doing what they were made for and that includes human beings. Before we come to Christ we are sleeping spiritually. Like todays text says: “open your eyes, and you will have plenty of bread”. So our first mission is to wake up to the truth of why Jesus is awesome… why he is the greatest treasure there is… why he is a reason to have great joy… and follow after Him. Thats mission uno… number one. Like Jesus said to Peter and Andrew in Matthew 4:19 …“Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.” 20 Immediately they left their nets and followed him. I think it was right here that their eyes were open to see Jesus as the one worth dropping everything for and following after. Did you notice Jesus told them their instant real time mission and their future mission in one sentence? First “follow me” and then I will make you fishers of men”. It’s the same for us, first we see the Glory of God in Jesus… or why he is good news for us… and we delight in him… our eyes are open to this… Then we share his glory with others…. And though our second mission begins… our first mission of seeing and following still continues... in that we keep seeing more and more of the glory of God in Jesus and we keep sharing more and more of what we have seen and delighted in.
