No episódio de hoje, Mônica disse que o marido é muito agressivo, tanto fisicamente quanto verbalmente. Ela se separou dele por causa dessa situação, porém, eles ainda moram na mesma casa. Acontece que, ele sai com outras mulheres e ela não suporta essa situação. Ele não sai da residência e Mônica não tem para onde ir. Relacionamento errado Fabiana compartilhou que conheceu um rapaz no trabalho e os dois iniciam “um caso”. Ambos eram casados. Logo após o primeiro encontro, a aluna se separou. Ela disse que o relacionamento dela não era bom, pois era baseado em brigas, agressões físicas, verbais e traições. Fabiana continuou com o rapaz do trabalho, mas, depois de alguns meses, a esposa dele que estava grávida acabou perdendo o bebê. Com isso, ele também terminou o casamento e os dois assumiram o relacionamento. Foi então que, segundo Fabiana, começaram as lutas. O ex-marido dela pegou a guarda dos filhos e ela descobriu que o rapaz com quem se relacionava também tinha uma outra amante, que por sinal, não deixava os dois em paz. Apesar de tudo, eles foram morar juntos e não deu certo. Eles se separaram. Today on Too Opinionated, actress Fabiana Udenio drops by for a chat.  Fabiana Udenio was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and grew up in Italy, where at the age of thirteen, was crowned "Miss Teen Italy". That same year Fabiana made her theatre debut as "Miranda" in "The Tempest" directed by the legendary Giorgio Strehler. Miss Udenio first came to America to perform at the 1984 Los Angeles Summer Olympics Arts Festival, in that very famous edition of "The Tempest". Her film roles include playing the daughter of a World War II Resistance fighter costarring with Gregory Peck, Christopher Plummer and John Gielgud in the CBS miniseries The Scarlet and the Black (1983), the Italian foreign-exchange student Anna-Maria Mazzarelli in Summer School (1987) directed by Carl Reiner costarring Mark Harmon and Kirstie Alley, and the sunbather in the "Sunblock 5000" commercial within RoboCop 2 (1990). She portrayed "Alotta Fagina" in Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery (1997) costarring with Mike Myers directed by Jay Roach. She starred as "Don Na" in The Godson (1998) with Dom DeLuise and Rodney Dangerfield. Most recently Fabiana starred in the independent films Love and Love Not and Cloudy with a chance of Christmas. Durante o episódio de hoje, a aluna Geise, de 23 anos de idade, disse que há um pouco mais de um ano namora um homem mais velho, de 40 anos. Ela comentou que, os dois se dão bem. I'm your host, Kate Shaw. This week we're going to revisit two great topics suggested by two great listeners, Fabiana and Hazel. They suggested dogs and cats, respectively. We've covered both before, but there's always more to learn about any animal. Let's look specifically at two recent studies that can add to our knowledge. We'll start with Fabiana's suggestion of dogs. Results of a study published in January of 2022 examined the genetics of wolves and dogs to see how small dog breeds developed. We're not completely sure how domestic dogs are related to wolf species alive today, since dogs have been domesticated for tens of thousands of years, and were probably domesticated at different times in different places by different groups of people, and potentially domesticated from different species of wolf, and since wolves and dogs can interbreed and produce fertile offspring. It's very complicated, to say the least. Wolves are roughly the same size throughout the world, depending on species and environment. The gray wolf, which is native to the northern parts of North America and most of Eurasia, stands about 2 and a half feet tall at the shoulder, or about 85 cm, and weighs around 88 lbs, or 40 kg, on average, although wolves who live in warmer areas tend to be smaller. There are certainly dog breeds bigger than this, but there are lots of dog breeds that are much, much smaller. I mean, the Chihuahua only grows around 9 inches tall, or 23 cm, and usually barely weighs 6 lbs, or 2.7 kg. The prevailing belief is that small dog breeds came about because people bred the smallest dogs together and chose the smallest puppies from that pairing to breed to other small dogs. That's true, but the genetic capacity for small size had to be there to start with in order to breed a 6-lb Chihuahua from an 88-lb wolf, no matter how many generations of dogs were in between. Researchers knew the genetic code for this size difference had to be somewhere, but it took a decade of study before they found it. Once they found the growth hormone mutation that could allow for very small size when expressed, they searched for it in over 200 dog breeds to see if it was there in all dogs. Sure enough, it was. The scientists hypothesized that the genetic mutation showed up after dogs were domesticated, somewhere around 20,000 years ago. To test this, they looked for the mutation in the genetic profiles of both living and extinct canid species. To their surprise, the mutation was present in all of them, including the genetic profile of a Siberian wolf that lived 54,000 years ago. Without this mutation, we wouldn't have Chihuahuas or Yorkshire terriers or other small dog breeds that so many people love. That means the mutation was beneficial for domesticated dogs, but at the same time it was mostly non-beneficial for wild canids. When dogs were domesticated around 20,000 years ago, and possibly well before that, the world was in the middle of a glacial maximum. The climate throughout the entire Earth was considerably colder than it is today. Ocean levels were lower because so much water was frozen, with ice sheets covering northern Europe and North America to a depth of about 2 1/2 miles, or 4 km. Northern Asia had fewer ice sheets but was much dryer than it is today. In fact, the world was a lot dryer overall, so places that weren't covered in ice were more likely to be deserts, leading to massive dust storms and just a general dustiness throughout the world.

When it comes to television game shows, there are just a few that have been around for a very long time. A couple of those are Wheel of Fortune, and Jeopardy!. These shows have really become a part of American culture. But there's another one that's been on the air even longer than those two, because it's currently the longest running game show in American TV history. That show is The Price Is Right. Chances are, you've probably watched it at some point. Just about everyone has. But there are a few things you may not know about this show. The Price Is Right has been seen on all three major networks – NBC, ABC and CBS. Yeah, that's a bit of trivia from back when there were pretty much 3 channels on television to choose from. One of the hosts for many years was Bob Barker. And for a long time, his hair was dyed black. But he didn't like the way it looked. At one point, when he was on vacation, he stopped dying his hair and let it go full gray. The producers of the show were worried about how viewers would respond. But it turns out, people loved Bob's new look. And ratings went through the roof. A couple of well-known celebrities were contestants on TPIR, before they became famous –  Aaron Paul was once a contestant. He played Jesse Pinkman on the really popular series, Breaking Bad. He got all the way to the showcase, but ended up overbidding so he didn't win. The other one was Vanna White. Long before she became the famous and highly paid letter-turner on Wheel of Fortune, she was just another person on Contestant Row, trying to win something. But she actually never made it up on stage.
