Blocking out just one sun? What an amateur megalomaniac Bill is! Time to Restump Podcast the retributive purple punishment Freo supplied the Suns. There has to be a sunscreen sponsorship coming Murphy Reid's way, doesn't there? Or at least he should be forwarded some of that lucrative green energy climate change cash for an ambassadorial role? Even when the clouds momentarily parted, not even a single ray got close to him!Call it atonement, making amends or retribution. It was evident Gold Coast eliminating us from the finals last year was still very much front and centre in the minds, and it was as if closure on that fateful event was required. You always hear about players memory banking certain defeats or incidents for future incentive use but you never really think grudges are truly held. However, it's difficult to believe the catastrophic finals loss last year wasn't an extra motivating factor on Sunday. The Freo players were on from the first bounce. They were zoned in, super focused, hitting hard and setting the tone. Sure, we're all locked in and the eyes are on the bigger prize, but it felt like there was more at stake yesterday, something a little extra to play for. 36 more disposals, 6 more inside 50s and 24 tackles in just the first quarter alone set a conspicuous tone and put an authoritative stamp the game. It said, “We remember, it hurt and here, have some of these apples!”Admittedly the Gold Coast Suns must have some internal issues, but to hold them to just 3 goals for the entire match, especially considering how dominant, albeit unclean, they were in clearances in the first half, was a stellar defensive performance by the entire team, but specifically the docker dudes down back.Up forward the inaccuracy disease flared up a touch again, but it looked a little worse on paper given we had 5 rushed behinds. But there are two ways to look at it. We can finger wag at Amiss and Treacy's misses, or we can realise that even when they're off, others are standing up. The forward line is functioning in such a way that this week we got the reliability of Paddy and Jackson while Freddy got his reward for recent efforts. And when you have a complimenting and individual supportive forward line, a situation summing up and fast ball moving midfield, attacking half backs and a brick wall of a last line defence… you can win from multiple different positions. Heck, you might even win 14 in a row! This is all getting extremely real. We're passing each and every test, teams are looking for the chinks in our armour and coming up empty. Have we progressed onto juggernaut status? We're now at a stage where we have built something meaningful, so we have something serious to lose. So, we need to surround the current climate with sensible and measured commentary. If you can find that anywhere, please let us know! Meanwhile feel free to come along for our often unreliable, absurd and irreverent take on it all on the pod. Send us Fan MailSupport the show

Send us Fan MailSunscreen advice usually comes as a binary: fear the sun or ignore the risks. We take a different path and give you a practical framework for sun protection that doesn't sacrifice the real health benefits of sunlight. From the start, we separate the roles of UVA and UVB so you can understand what actually causes sunburn, what drives vitamin D production, and why UVA is linked with skin aging while still playing a role in nitric oxide release and circulation. Then we get concrete about “sensible sunlight exposure,” a balanced approach popularised by vitamin D researcher Dr Michael Holick. We talk about how timing, latitude, altitude, season, and skin pigmentation change your safe window for unprotected sun, and why regular gradual exposure can build a “solar callus” that improves tolerance. We also cover a detail many people miss: most household glass blocks UVB but allows UVA through, which matters for anyone spending long hours near windows or on the road. Finally, we tackle sunscreen safety and label reading. We discuss concerns around common sunscreen chemicals like parabens and benzophenone-3 (often called oxybenzone), the reality of transdermal absorption with frequent reapplication, and why combining products can amplify exposure, especially when sunscreen overlaps with insect repellent. We share how we use the Environmental Working Group (EWG) tools like the Skin Deep app, clarify what SPF and “broad spectrum” really mean, and name the mineral sunscreens we trust, with an emphasis on zinc oxide and non-nano options. If this helps you rethink your summer routine, subscribe, share the show with a friend, and leave a review so more people can find smarter, safer guidance on sunlight, sunscreen, and skin health.Environmental Working Group: ewg.orgwww.thehealthedgepodcast.com

Dr. Berg’s Healthy Keto and Intermittent Fasting Podcast

Some doctors give the worst diet advice! In this podcast, we'll discuss the dangerous health advice that out-of-touch doctors still give their patients. Avoid these health tips and find out what to do instead. The worst health advice: 1. People can get all their nutrition from food. Getting enough nutrients such as vitamin D, potassium, and magnesium from food is almost impossible. Many people consume refined carbs and sugar, which deplete them of vital nutrients. Supplements are often the only way to compensate. 2. Take more calcium to prevent osteoporosis. Normal blood calcium levels do not prevent bone loss. Osteoporosis usually occurs when you age and hormones like estrogen and testosterone decrease. 3. Always use sunblock. Sunblock became very popular when sun exposure was linked to cancer. But you need sun to get enough vitamin D, which is vital for your immune system. 4. Snack frequently to avoid overeating. Snacking raises insulin, creating a high blood sugar situation. This keeps you hungry and will not prevent overeating. 5. Sugar in moderation is fine. Sugar and carb consumption, even in moderation, stops you from tapping into your fat reserve. 6. Avoid saturated fats. Saturated fat does not clog your arteries. High-carb diets create a much more significant risk for heart problems. 7. Whole grains are heart-healthy. Whole grains trigger blood sugar. Most products that contain whole grains also contain refined grains and fillers like maltodextrin and modified food starch. Whole grains contain phytates, which block the absorption of key nutrients, and gluten, which irritates the gut. 8. Avoid red meat Grass-fed, grass-finished red meat is the healthiest food you can eat! 9. Our brains need sugar and carbs. Your brain can also run on ketones, which will prevent brain fog and increase cognitive function. 10. Restrict salt for high blood pressure. Rather than avoiding salt, focus on eliminating junk food from the diet and increasing vitamin D and potassium. 11. All calories are equal. The body does not treat all calories equally. Instead of creating a calorie deficit to lose weight, create a carbohydrate calorie deficit. This forces the body to burn fat as an alternative fuel source. In this video, I'm going to tell you how to look younger naturally. The secret to younger-looking skin is NOT wearing sunblock every single day! UV rays make up only about 3% of the sun's wavelengths. Sixty percent of sunlight is infrared light, which has numerous health benefits. Sunblock typically only blocks UVB rays, which are essential for making vitamin D. It doesn't block the UVA rays, which are typically deemed harmful. Even UVA rays have health benefits! They can increase nitric oxide, which increases blood flow and circulation to the skin. Skin cancer is often a serious concern when being exposed to the sun. Although we've been decreasing sun exposure, melanomas have increased significantly. Interestingly enough, melanomas usually occur in areas that are not exposed to the sun. So, is it the sun that's causing melanomas? If you're using a moisturizer for younger-looking skin, check the ingredients! Many creams that claim to make you look younger are full of chemicals and actually have the opposite effect. Synthetic antioxidants, sugar, and junk food will age the skin quickly. Overwashing your face can also cause problems. Antibiotics and things that act like antibiotics, such as birth control pills, antacids, steroids, and statins, can wreak havoc on your skin. Oxytocin is a hormone that can increase stem cells for your skin. It has potent regenerative properties that also help with bonding and make people feel more social and calm. The microbe L. Reuteri can significantly increase oxytocin. Many people do not have L. Reuteri in their microbiome. When you destroy the microbiome, certain microbes never come back! Cold immersion, exercise, and facial exercises can also help you look younger.

We have been told the sun is harmful and that we need to protect our skin from its rays. But the chemicals used in sunscreens are actually more dangerous for us than the sun; indeed sunscreen is harmful to all life on the planet. Today, we gain insights on the problems with sunscreen and what to do about it from Dr. Elizabeth Plourde, a Clinical Laboratory Scientist and the author of "Sunscreens Biohazard 2: Proof of Toxicity Keeps Piling Up." It's not the sun that causes skin cancer, Elizabeth explains, but rather the chemicals in the sunscreen that disrupt our body's balanced hormone ecosystem with carcinogenic toxins. She talks about the problem of sunscreen mixing with chlorine in swimming pools, turning them into a kind of "toxic soup". Elizabeth also explains why spray sunscreens are especially dangerous and why zinc oxide isn't a particularly good type of protection, either. But she does not leave us without hope. She offers a number of ideas for how to get a healthy amount of sun without burning. She describes how we can build up our sun exposure over time, the importance of coconut oil and a diet high in anti-oxidants and the benefits of the skin's own melanin to provide protection.
