Killing was Purposeful /// Part 1 /// 841Part 1 of 4 www.TrueCrimeGarage.comStarting in the 80s and then continuing for two decades, Toledo and northwest Ohio was experiencing an increase in violent crimes. Horrifically, abduction, murder, and rape were on the rise. Some of these cases remain open to this very day. Murder was difficult to investigate. Some cases were traditional homicides - person kills someone they know for reasons specific to their relationship. Others were more random. There were cases that were closed out with someone being held accountable for their actions and then there are cases that have fallen by the wayside. These cases have gone cold. But as we look back we must consider the possibility that one or more serial offenders operated in this area and went undetected. This week we take a look at the still unsolved homicide case of Lori Ann Hill. This week Dave and Bryan take their first steps into the 1990's and go deep with a real hard look at The Blair Witch Project. Joining them on this trek through the forest is Ash Kelley and Alaina Urquhart from the Morbid Podcast. Though, not the first found-footage horror movie, Blair Witch is definitely the one that convinced budding indie horror directors that yes, they too could make a horror movie on very little money. Dave and Bryan struggle to understand the appeal while Ash and Alaina do their best to articulate just what it is about this movie that they love so much. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/bring-me-the-axe/message

So back in July of 1976, in Chowchilla, California, three men carried out a mass abduction/kidnapping of an entire school bus of 26 kids (aged 5-14) and their bus driver after a day of summer school. They stashed all of them in a truck that was BURIED underground and left them there. They then went home to call in a ransom. However, things don't go quite as planned for the kidnappers. They underestimated Ed the bus driver and the children. And this is one true crime story with a happy ending. Has anyone else heard of this?? I hadn't! So down the rabbit hole I went and I just had to share the story with April. And with all of you. Shout out to Inhuman Podcast and Morbid Podcast for enlightening me!
