It was no ordinary day at One Snoopy Place on July 5, 1995. A man named Ron Nelson, who worked alongside famous Peanuts cartoonist, Charles Schultz, and his wife, Shirley Nelson were shot at the Peanuts headquarters. When officers arrived, they were confused why no one else had been shot, and if the shooter was still at large. Once Shirley was loaded into an ambulance, she told them everything, and it was not at all what investigators were expecting. Send us a textOn Monday July 25, 1994, a man walked into the Newport, Oregon Police Department, holding a human skull in his hands. Upon investigating the skull, it was confirmed that all of the teeth were still intact, so police used dental records to try and confirm who this skull belonged to. About a week later, these dental records came back as a match to a missing person. The dental records confirmed that the skull was a 17-year-old woman named Kelly Disney, who disappeared 10 years earlier on March 9, 1984 in Newport, Oregon. Now, almost 40 years later, there are still no answers in the disappearance and murder of Kelly Disney, and she wasn't the only one to go missing on Oregon's highways. On a cold February day, the two best friends vanished while hiking on a popular trail, and hours later, their bodies were discovered in a remote wooded area. The chilling audio and video evidence captured by Liberty's phone has been pivotal in the investigation, yet despite extensive efforts, no one had been arrested or charged in connection with the case, until now. During her time on air, Jennifer covered murder cases & sadly, it was her own murder that went on to become one of the most perplexing unsolved cases in Texas history. Katrina and her husband Todd had a seemingly perfect marriage, and when she never returned home from doing errands, Todd told the world that he was distraught. As investigators in Rockford, IL worked to find Katrina, they uncovered the mirage that her husband had been showing the world. Truth behind the crime show:Wendy Savino special guest FrankDeGennaro We discuss the Wendy Savino shooting. Wendy Savino, an 87-year-old woman, was recently officially recognized by the New York Police Department as the first victim of notorious serial killer David Berkowitz, also known as “Son of Sam.” The attack occurred on April 9, 1976, when Savino was shot multiple times while sitting in her car. She sustained severe injuries, including the loss of an eye, but managed to survive the assault.David Berkowitz initially targeted Savino before his more widely known murder spree in 1976-1977, during which he killed six people and wounded others. Although Savino provided a crucial sketch of her attacker early on, it took decades for her to be formally recognized as Berkowitz's first victim. Her survival and perseverance contributed to his eventual capture.Berkowitz, who remains imprisoned, expressed remorse for his crimes during a recent parole hearing, though he continues to serve multiple life sentences for the murders. The recognition of Savino's victimhood adds a new chapter to the tragic legacy of Berkowitz's reign of terror.#TrueCrime #TrueCrimeCommunity#CrimeJunkie #TrueCrimeAddict#MurderMystery #ColdCase#SerialKillers #UnsolvedMysteries#TrueCrimePodcast#CrimeDocumentary#TrueCrimeObsessed#MysteryMonday #MissingPersons#ForensicFiles #JusticeForAllPlease follow us on Youtube,Facebook,Instagram,Twitter,Patreon and at www.gettinglumpedup.comhttps://linktr.ee/RobRossiGet your T-shirt at https://www.prowrestlingtees.com/gettinglumpedupAnd https://www.bonfire.com/store/getting-lumped-up/Subscribe to the channel and hit the like button This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/rob-rossi/support

If you need to catch up on this case, head to YouTube/@PrimetimeCrimeShow & hit the Playlist, "Kansas Moms."There appears to be a major development in the ongoing hearings of the five suspects accused of brutally murdering two innocent Kansas mothers, Veronica Butler and Jilian Kelly. According to the newest court filings, we're speculating that one of the suspects may have flipped and is rumored to be cooperating with the state. This unexpected turn could dramatically alter the case (in a positive way), as the prosecution now potentially has a key insider to testify against the others. Stay tuned for more updates as the trial takes a new, shocking direction.* Paul Grice is due back in court: Wednesday, February 19, 2025 at 13:30:00.000 CDT FORFURTHER PROCEEDINGS.Watch the Livestream: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhZUa4Yyj6Y*This is not legal advice Hosted on Acast. Truth behind the crime show:The Wendy Savino shooter Was not the son of Sam. Wendy Savino is a survivor of the notorious “Son of Sam” serial killer, David Berkowitz. In April 1976, she was shot five times by Berkowitz in a Bronx parking lot, making her one of his earliest known victims. Although she miraculously survived, she lost the use of one eye due to her injuries. For years, her case remained unlinked to Berkowitz's killing spree, leaving her to face disbelief when sharing her story. However, recent investigations by the NYPD have officially recognized her as one of Berkowitz's victims .The encounter deeply affected Savino's life, leading her to relocate to England for recovery after the attack. Decades later, investigators connected her case to Berkowitz, recognizing her bravery and ordeal during his reign of terror . Despite the tragic events, Savino's story is a testament to her resilience and survival.https://gnostictv.com/?gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjwrp-3BhDgARIsAEWJ6SwNGFr1cjEqKfW5SydhVE8JjEBl8fPs4BpHOI28MhLxjfLr-Obv4vsaAgNpEALw_#sonofsam #DavidBerkowitz#SerialKiller #TrueCrime#NYCHistory #ColdCase#SurvivorStory #CriminalJustice#1970sCrime #TrueCrimeCommunity#SonOfSamSurvivor#TrueCrimePodcasthttps://gnostictv.com/Please follow us on dYoutube,Facebook,Instagram,Twitter,Patreon and at www.gettinglumpedup.comhttps://linktr.ee/RobRossiGet your T-shirt at https://www.prowrestlingtees.com/gettinglumpedupAnd https://www.bonfire.com/store/getting-lumped-up/Subscribe to the channel and hit the like button This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/rob-rossi/support https://www.patreon.com/Gettinglumpedup

This is part 3 of our new Sound Judgment quick-hit series on six storytelling strategies for hooking your audience and keeping them with you. Today, we're talking about scenes. They're obviously a staple in longform narrative storytelling, like true crime and documentaries. Don't ignore them, though, for interview shows; you just have to interview well to elicit good, sensory anecdotes from your guests. Between the lines, you'll hear how useful they are on the page and the stage as well. As a reminder, all six strategies come from today's best audio storytellers. But these are storytelling strategies that don't care what media is yours, so stick around, writers, public speakers, screenwriters and video producers — and of course, podcasters. With examples featuring Rich Roll, author Charles Duhigg, and Crime Show's Emma Courtland. Apply the six storytelling strategies for creating unforgettable content to your own work! Sign up for our interactive, virtual Hook Your Audience & Keep Them Coming Back workshopThursday, March 14, 2024By developing skills from story structure to scene-making, suspense to specifics, you'll learn to create or improve the show, story, article or speech that expresses what you want to express, captivates the people you want to reach, and achieves quality and depth you can be proud of. You'll move from likes and follows to building trusted, engaged relationships with your audience. These practices work separately and together to ratchet up both the substance and the "wow factor" of your content, no matter the platform.Did you miss Part 1 on Sound Vision? Listen here.
