There are many things in life that are uncertain, but the Word of God is certain. God said it like it needed to be said, and we must accept it as that. Our three scripture texts appear to have nothing in common. Bro. Hughes points out however that there is a single word that is common to all three. The word yet appears in all three. This one word appears in our texts and means a continuance or an expectation of the future. In all three stories, the word yet tells us that the situations in which they are used is not over until God decides it is over. What a wonderful promise we have that nothing is settled until God settles it. There is yet Grace, there is yet mercy, there is yet hope. The simple truth is that all of us live our lives in hope. Things might not be right at the moment, but we have hope that tomorrow will be better. More than hope, we have God’s promise that better days lay before us because God is yet to do something. My children may be lost, but God is not through YET. My home may be troubled, but God is not through YET. My life may not be where it needs to be, but God is not through YET. Yet I will be what God has called me to become. Yet my family will be where God wants them to be. The devil may be telling you that there is no hope of recovery, but God tells us that there is YET hope. God said all things are possible to him that believes. Weeping may endure for the night, but joy cometh in the morning! The situation is not better YET, but it ain’t over until God says it is over.
