Send us a textWhat if a single decision—book the ticket, join the band, raise your hand—could tilt your life toward courage and curiosity? That's the energy running through our conversation with Stephanie Nunley, Senior Director of Admissions and Recruitment Strategy at Case Western Reserve's Weatherhead School of Management, who brings world travel, Division I band grit, and people-first admissions wisdom to the table. We kick off with vivid travel stories that double as life lessons: a five-city sprint through India, a Celtic tour of Dublin and Edinburgh (yes, Steelers flags in Ireland), and a mind-bending Alaska summer where the sun never sets. Each trip rewired routines and sharpened resourcefulness—qualities that power real careers. From there, we dive into the discipline behind Bowling Green's D1 band: Hell Week heat, rapid-fire halftime shows, and the camaraderie that teaches timing, resilience, and attention to detail. It's performance training that translates seamlessly to leadership, product launches, and public speaking. Then we open the hood on admissions strategy at Weatherhead. Stephanie shares how she blends data with empathy, recruiting locally across Ohio and Pennsylvania while engaging global talent for specialized master's programs in finance, accountancy, supply chain management, and business analytics. The big lesson for applicants: clarity of purpose wins. Tell a real story, show your impact, and engage—because people don't want to be talked at; they want to be part of something. We even swap notes on crowd work, from comedy clubs to Zoom rooms, and why participation turns passive listeners into invested collaborators. There's a dash of paranormal chills—a night in a haunted prison—and a warm, practical challenge to close: try one new thing every yearSubscribe for exclusive content: https://www.buzzsprout.com/1530455/support Buzzsprout - Let's get your podcast launched!Start for FREETactical BrotherhoodThe Tactical Brotherhood is a movement to support America.Dubby EnergyFROM GAMERS TO GYM JUNKIES TO ENTREPRENEURS, OUR PRODUCT IS FOR ANYONE WHO WANTS TO BE BETTER.ShankitgolfOur goal here at Shankitgolf is for everyone to have a great time on and off the golf courseSweet Hands SportsElevate your game with Sweet Hands Sports! A stranger clowns you on live after your account gets banned—do you spiral or go nuclear on the grind? Justin “Danger” Nunley chose the latter, changing shirts in his driveway and launching a 30-day sprint from 3,000 followers to 3 million. We sit down with the Air Force veteran turned creator-entrepreneur to unpack the mindset, habits, and guardrails behind a 21M+ audience—and why three videos a day for five years was less about algorithms and more about character. We get into the real mechanics of creator growth: cross-posting strategy, learning from takedowns instead of raging at them, and navigating wildly different community guidelines across TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook. Justin shares why he leaves “just enough” in his famous did-you-know facts to make you look it up yourself, and why safety at home requires firmer boundaries than most people realize. From SkillBridge to retirement, from Harley-Davidson partnerships to Waze Energy's veteran-first mission, he lays out a playbook any small business can borrow: become your own media company, tell honest stories, and replace legacy ad buys with creator-native content that actually converts.Of course, it wouldn't be our show without sports heat. We wrestle with NIL money's effect on college football, break down Tennessee vs Georgia vs Alabama angst, and celebrate the joy of a snow-filled Bills playoff game with your kid. There's even a beard-on-the-line rivalry bet and a quick detour into hitting mechanics—why getting the bat on plane early beats chasing launch angle buzzwords—because process scales whether you're in a cage or on camera. If you're building a brand, a podcast, or a one-person media empire, this conversation is your field guide: be relentless, be yourself, and let the work stack. In this episode of The Spine Pod, co-hosts Courtney Schutze and Brady Riesgraf head to Shreveport, Louisiana to sit down—scrubbed in and ready—with one of the true leaders in modern spine care, Dr. Pierce Nunley. Founder of the Spine Institute of Louisiana, Dr. Nunley brings decades of surgical experience, a passion for research, and a hands-on approach to patient care that's shaping the future of the field. In this episode, we step inside the operating room to talk about what it means to build a comprehensive, research-driven, spine practice. From his early days fixing motorcycles on a farm to leading national clinical trials, Dr. Nunley shares the mentors and experiences that shaped his commitment to patient-first care, education, and innovation. Dr. Nunley goes on to discuss the creation of the Spine Center of Excellence, a dedicated spine-only ambulatory surgery center focused on safety, efficiency, and patient care. He shares insight into his leadership of multiple clinical trials, including recent studies on MOTUS, a lumbar total joint replacement under IDE investigation, and PerQdisc, a nucleus replacement - with both implants focused on the primary goal of restoring function to spine patients while preserving motion. Throughout the episode, Dr. Nunley emphasizes the importance of real-world data, the responsibility of training future surgeons, and the value of applying experience with humility when evaluating new technologies. His leadership in research, education, and clinical care continues to influence the direction of spine surgery across the country and provides new and improved treatments for patients struggling with chronic neck, leg and/or back pain. In this episode, you'll learn: Why the Spine Center of Excellence was built as a spine-exclusive ambulatory surgery center—and what that means for patient outcomes. How Dr. Nunley is helping shape the future of spine surgery through clinical research and motion-preserving innovation. Why PerQdisc (a spine disc nucleus replacement), Synergy & Baguera (cervical disc replacements), and non-instrumented implants are generating excitement and what makes them different from currently available technologies. The early promise and current progress of MOTUS, the first lumbar total joint replacement under US clinical trials. How integrity, data collection, and a lifelong curiosity drive better care—and why first surgeries matter most for long-term outcomes. As a surgeon, researcher, and mentor, Dr. Nunley has built a model for what it means to advance spine care thoughtfully. From running a world-class clinical practice to engaging in nearly 40 clinical research studies as a principal investigator, his voice is a trusted one across the industry. This episode of The Spine Pod is a must-listen for anyone invested in the future of spine surgery. Listen, did you know that telling jokes isn't Justin Nunley's day job? Nunley is an active member of the Air Force, but he's known for the content he creates on social media. Nunley explains why he didn't want his military job to be his identity; if comedy helps him escape what he sees in the real world; being able to have an online presence while in the military; being funny but educational; being the most annoying person in the room; having a catchphrase and punchline; intentionally putting Easter eggs in his videos; if he cares to keep up with all the platforms and social media trends; knowing which content is acceptable for which platform; not blaming the platform when a video doesn't do well; not caring about offending people; being a legitimate NASCAR fan and how he started being invited to races; being a part of driver introductions at Bristol and how he approached the job; what he gets out of being used at a racetrack; if he believes it's worked in NASCAR's favor to use a well-known personality; being a lesson for others about having passion for your craft but what people don't see on social media; if he feels he's balancing all aspects of his life well; not having an end game; if he has NASCAR specific goals; a message for listeners.Music created by Tony Monge. This show is part of the Spreaker Prime Network, if you are interested in advertising on this podcast, contact us at https://www.spreaker.com/show/3228370/advertisement
The guys from Dawgman.com - Kim Grinolds, Chris Fetters, and Scott Eklund - got up bright and early Saturday morning to offer up their thoughts on Washington's opponent today, the Stanford Cardinal, as well as put to bed any lingering questions surrounding the Huskies' 15-7 win over Arizona State last weekend. They start the conversation out with those lingering questions, as well as talk of sign stealing. It's become the hot topic in college football with what's going on right now at Michigan. Did it happen last weekend at Husky Stadium? And would UW moving from the north sideline to the south sideline help alleviate any possible sign stealing issues during games? The guys also recapped what they heard from the Washington players and coaches this week about the Arizona State game, what they learned from that game, and the motivation - especially on offense - to set things right today on the Farm. There is certainly a lot to watch out for with the Huskies on that side of the ball. After a quick break the guys turn their attention to today's game, starting with any injury updates. Jalen McMillan, Germie Bernard, Julius Buelow, Tuli Letuligasenoa, Asa Turner, and Kamren Fabiculanan are all players Kim will be looking for on the sidelines pregame, as well as safety Vincent Nunley. It's unclear what issue Nunley is dealing with at this time. Then talk turns to the job new Stanford Head Coach Troy Taylor has in front of him revamping the roster and culture on the Farm after the departure of long-time head coach David Shaw. Scott offers up a quick recruiting update, including thoughts on the two verbal commitments Washington received at the beginning of the week - and then Kim and Chris talk Husky Hoops for a minute. The men's team starts their 2023-24 season off with their exhibition game versus St. Martin's tomorrow night at Bank of America Arena. To wrap up the pregame show, the guys give their final thoughts on the game and what they expect to see this afternoon. In the rapidly changing world of tech, the hospitality industry can struggle to keep up. Today's guest is here to provide some guidance. Drawing on her 20 plus years of technology experience, she creates innovative experiences for guests and travelers. Joining the show this week is The Travel and Hospitality Industry Advisor at Salesforce, Jacqueline Nunley!Jacqui joins host Dan Ryan to look towards the future of the hospitality industry. They discuss the common challenges facing hoteliers when implementing technology, the ways AI can revolutionize customer experience, and how brands need to think about implementing AI. Takeaways: Hospitality is an ever changing landscape. As guest expectations have changed, technology has advanced rapidly, creating a blank slate. This allows for the industry to redefine what hospitality means to them. Because the hospitality industry is often fragmented, implementing new technologies can be a challenge. When looking for new solutions, leadership should prioritize technologies that can work cross-functionally. The level of repeatability and consistency in an experience needs to be tailored to the type of experience. Knowing what to expect can provide comfort to guests, but many guests often seek the unique experiences of the locations they visit. When looking to implement tech into a hotel, the end goal should be on making the staff's jobs easier. By freeing up staff from mundane tasks that can easily be replaced, you allow them more time to focus on providing the human element to guests. AI offers many benefits to the end customer, but it requires careful consideration of a guest's concerns. With many guests, there is a concern about the privacy of their data. Hotels need to provide a sense of security to ensure that guests trust the technology. Implementing AI into the hospitality industry is not about replacing people's jobs, but rather about allowing them to better serve guests. Conversational AI can speed up support calls, drastically reducing customer frustrations. While AI has the potential to redefine the hospitality industry, it's adoption needs to be intentional. Instead of adding AI features because a competitor had, first assess if the use of that technology will add value to your customers.
