Originating from Cape Town, South Africa, my spiritual 'quest' for truth and meaning has taken me across the globe. Over the last two decades, I've had the privilege of instructing a variety of students worldwide, guiding them through advanced Hatha Yoga practices, particularly focused on Kuṇḍalinī, and delving into the intricacies of non-dual Śaiva Tantra, also known as Kashmiri Shaivism. For over a decade, I served as a senior teacher at Agama Yoga, a prominent yoga school in Thailand. However, I chose to part ways with the school following allegations of sexual misconduct against its founder. Since then, I have devoted myself to creating my own system of teachings, blending the profound wisdom of ancient traditions with my creative and artistic expression. My aim is to guide a modern generation of seekers toward truth, beauty, and fulfillment. As an avid learner drawn to authentic wellsprings of wisdom, I've delved into the profound teachings of tantric masters in India under the guidance of the esteemed scholar and meditation teacher Paul Muller Ortega, through his tantric meditation school, Blue Throat Yoga. Additionally, I've pursued personal studies through the writings, lectures and online courses of eminent scholars like Mark Dyczkowski. My journey has also involved several years of Sanskrit study with Dr. Antonia Ruppel through the YogicStudies online platform.Get Access to Rina's Free meditations, Workshops, Shibari tutorials and morehttps://www.subscribepage.com/free-workshops-libraryIf you enjoy this episode, leave a 5-star rating and review the podcast on Apple Podcast and Spotify or send a DM to me on Instagram

In today's episode, Embodied Philosophy Founder Jacob Kyle is interviewed by Kelly Blaser for the 2024 Power of Meditation Summit. They discussed the role of the scholar-practitioner, the philosophical significance of "zero," the important synergy of knowledge and experience, "reappropriating God," and the necessary role of spirituality in the lives of queer people.  Jacob Kyle is a meditation teacher, writer, philosophy educator, and the Founding Director of Embodied Philosophy. He holds an MPhil in Classical Indian Religions from the University of Oxford, an MA in Philosophy from the New School for Social Research in New York City, and an MSc in Political Theory from the London School of Economics and Political Science. Her background in feminist movements and Latin American Studies and experience living in Central America opened her up to the extent that our inner struggles are reflective of systemic structures that promote domination and disassociation. Her work is to help others experience the infinite compassion beneath the chaos of life and to remind them of their true nature. Her programs and courses focus largely on the power of applying the dharma to one's relationship with oneself and others. She helps people train themselves in meditation, mindfulness practices, and compassionate self-inquiry, so they can gain freedom from conditioned mind and open up to possibility.  Explore the many upcoming offerings and follow Kelly's work at www.kellyblaser.com. In this episode, Jacob and Kelly discuss: how the history of "zero" as a mathematical disruptive discovery reflects the way our contemplative sādhana both disrupts and inspires different forms of knowledge the importance of studying yoga philosophy as a way to empower embodied experience how scholarship should take seriously and employ experientially the embodied epistemologies of ancient wisdom traditions what it means to let your subjective experience inform your practice without rejecting the knowledge systems of the tradition the symbolism of Nataraja (the dancing Shiva) and how it represents the five universe functions of reality the dance of revelation and concealment according to the Tantrik tradition how organized religions have rejected gay and queer people, and how this necessitates a "re-appropriation" of God in queer-inclusive theologies and philosophies that are simultaneously informed by an understanding of wisdom traditions. You Can Make the Hard Seem Wonderful  This week we are talking with Jill Blumenstock. Jill found yoga in 2003 while braving the challenges she faced in medical school. She soon found herself buried in spiritual books instead of her textbooks and after three years of medical school and much soul searching, she withdrew from medical school knowing that she had greater gifts to offer the world through yoga. When something changes your life so profoundly and completely, you want to share it with the world. After moving to South Jersey, she began to teach in April 2006 and found inspiration in the creativity of Vinyasa Yoga. She completed two 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training programs: one in Vinyasa Yoga and one in alignment-focused Anusara Yoga. She completed the 500 Hour Ayurvedic Yoga Teacher Training at Kripalu. It has been her great privilege to nurture hundreds of aspiring yoga teachers over the last 13 years as they find their truth and voice through her 45 hour and 200 hour yoga teacher trainings. She also teaches Yin Yoga, Restorative Yoga, and Yoga Nidra Teacher Trainings and has done extensive training in yoga therapeutics, Ayurveda, and Vedic astrology and is a certified Vedic Astrologer who does private readings over the phone. She is currently studying meditation and philosophy with Paul Muller-Ortega and is an Authorized Teacher of Neelakantha Meditation. With her extensive knowledge of anatomy and her cheerful sense of humor, she seeks to create a safe, warm, and light-hearted space for her students to peek inside, explore, and connect to the greatest teacher-the teacher within- to find guidance and discover more about their true divine nature. Inspired by spiritual texts, poetry, and life's latest lessons, she frequently designs her sequencing to explore a spiritual theme or challenge and invites her students to reflect and find answers themselves. Teaching yoga has brought her great joy and has become the ultimate way to practice yoga and learn more about herself. Today's guest is Jessica Harvey, a woman who is incredibly passionate in working and supporting men around their shadows and $exuality. She believes our suffering comes from shaming our desire, disconnecting from pleasure, and lack of relational tools. Most of us were given zero understanding of our emotional world, our nervous system, how to communicate, and how to self- and co-regulate. You are going to love this interview with Jessica. She refers herself as a geek by nature because of her scientist background but after years in the lab, she was miserable. Jessica shares her story from scientist to 'Shadow & $exuality' Coach and why its her passion to be a guide for men to achieve insight into what they really want, to understand how women might be perceiving them, and to transform stuck patterns into intentional relating skills that really work.Jessica's Bliss Science program for men has emerged from all of the work she has done with hundreds of men in workshops, 1:1, and online programs over the past 8 years. She has spent many years studying with some of the most regarded and respected tantra and relationship teachers out there. Teachers such as Layla Martin, John Wineland, Christopher Wallis and Paul Muller-Ortega. Jessica and I crossed paths while we were both studying our $ex, Love & Relationship Coaching program under Layla Martin, many years ago.  It was great to reconnect and deeply acknowledge her for the work she is doing with men. Some of the juicy things she covers in our conversation:Why withholding ejaculation is a powerful practice but not necessaryHow a man can get in touch with his pleasure levels, inside their own bodyWhat does sensuality empowerment look like for menHow can a man receive the love and desire he craves from his partner in a way that doesn't come across needy A women desires her man to lead and take initiative but why do men hold back OR don't know how to stand in their masculine power and lead - this is so good!Importance of polarityYou can find Jessica at:https://www.bliss-science.com/ananyahttps://www.instagram.com/bliss.science

Her trauma-informed coaching is also inspired by her devotion to classical tantrik meditation and non-dual philosophy under Paul Muller-Ortega and Christopher Wallis. She spent 4 years in full-time study and practice of neo-tantric sexuality, shadow work, and kundalini in a tantric community in Asia. Now she likes to say that she studies a different kind of ‘chemistry,' and people often call her the ‘tantric scientist.' Since launching her Bliss Science coaching business, she has worked with hundreds of men - CEOs and leaders in tech, finance, and consulting - to rekindle passion in sexless marriages, recover confidence post-divorce, heal from performance anxiety, communicate in ways that women love, and develop a tantric mentality to life. Pitṛpakṣa is a 16–lunar day period in the fall when we pay homage to our ancestors. The purpose of this tradition is to not just appease generations of our ancestors in another realm, but also to free ourselves of kārmic bonds. Ordinarily, even when we are aware of this tradition, our focus isn't on the internal freedom from ancestral patterns that keep us bound. In this workshop, we will explore the role of this tradition and how it can be used to turn inward and to learn to discard deeply held beliefs and patterns that keep us from experiencing joy, freedom, and lightness. What it means to become a leader through engaging in this life-changing event. An understanding of how we can evolve our community at home through experiencing this retreat. Rachel Peters describes that the live Yogahealer events assist her in getting out of her daily routine and comfortability. She fees enabled to step out of her habits and routine and take a few days to look at herself, her life, her business, and her family from a whole new perspective. I was really excited when today's guest, Kavitha Chinnaiyan reached out about sharing her new book with me, Shakti Rising. As many of you know I love studying archetypes and have a deep appreciation for stories and mythology about goddesses. As well, her big truth kicked off our chat with a bit of mystery, which I also always love. Her truth was: There is much more to life than what we see. From there we explored: -How we're all far more than our limited identities. -How yoga and spirituality stemmed from being men's practices and few spiritual paths are tailored for women, with those that are traditionally, being quite hidden. -We talked about her intentions for writing the book - to clarify conversations around the "Divine Feminine" and what The Goddess is. I loved this line she said, "There is nothing in existence that isn't her..." -We got into making your life your practice and navigating spiritual materialism and elitism along the way. -And she also shared some of the differences between her spiritual beliefs and her husbands and how they instill beliefs, practices and rituals with their kids despite any differences. I loved this chat and hope you do too! About Kavitha Chinnaiyan: Kavitha Chinnaiyan, MD, is an integrative cardiologist, meditation teacher and tantrika.
