You Can Make the Hard Seem Wonderful  This week we are talking with Jill Blumenstock. Jill found yoga in 2003 while braving the challenges she faced in medical school. She soon found herself buried in spiritual books instead of her textbooks and after three years of medical school and much soul searching, she withdrew from medical school knowing that she had greater gifts to offer the world through yoga. When something changes your life so profoundly and completely, you want to share it with the world. After moving to South Jersey, she began to teach in April 2006 and found inspiration in the creativity of Vinyasa Yoga. She completed two 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training programs: one in Vinyasa Yoga and one in alignment-focused Anusara Yoga. She completed the 500 Hour Ayurvedic Yoga Teacher Training at Kripalu. It has been her great privilege to nurture hundreds of aspiring yoga teachers over the last 13 years as they find their truth and voice through her 45 hour and 200 hour yoga teacher trainings. She also teaches Yin Yoga, Restorative Yoga, and Yoga Nidra Teacher Trainings and has done extensive training in yoga therapeutics, Ayurveda, and Vedic astrology and is a certified Vedic Astrologer who does private readings over the phone. She is currently studying meditation and philosophy with Paul Muller-Ortega and is an Authorized Teacher of Neelakantha Meditation. With her extensive knowledge of anatomy and her cheerful sense of humor, she seeks to create a safe, warm, and light-hearted space for her students to peek inside, explore, and connect to the greatest teacher-the teacher within- to find guidance and discover more about their true divine nature. Inspired by spiritual texts, poetry, and life's latest lessons, she frequently designs her sequencing to explore a spiritual theme or challenge and invites her students to reflect and find answers themselves. Teaching yoga has brought her great joy and has become the ultimate way to practice yoga and learn more about herself. John shares his insights on the various yoga traditions he has studied, and the teachers who have influenced his practice. From there, we get a glimpse into John's current work as a yoga teacher, including his approach to teaching and the benefits of practicing yoga regularly. John doesn't shy away from the controversy of Anusara yoga and shares his experience during his departure from Anusara. We openly discuss the state of the world and true yoga philosophy around how the yoga community has chosen to react to the events of 2020 and forward. Throughout the podcast, John offers valuable tips and advice for anyone looking to deepen their yoga practice or become a yoga teacher themselves. You won't want to miss this insightful conversation with one of the most respected yoga teachers in the world. To learn more about John Friend and his work, check out his website at https://www.bowspring.com. Enjoy this incredible episode of the Yogalebrity podcast and stay tuned for more exciting conversations in the future! John Friend is an American yoga teacher who was born on February 5, 1959, in Houston, Texas. He is widely known for creating Anusara yoga, a popular style of yoga that emphasizes alignment and the heart-opening qualities of yoga. Friend began his yoga practice in 1970 at the age of 11, when his mother introduced him to yoga. He continued to practice and study yoga throughout his teenage years and into his adulthood, eventually becoming a certified Iyengar yoga teacher in 1984. In 1997, Friend founded Anusara yoga, which quickly gained popularity among yoga practitioners in the United States and around the world. Anusara yoga is known for its emphasis on alignment, its use of heart-opening postures, and its focus on connecting with the divine. Friend continued to teach and promote Anusara yoga throughout the 2000s, leading workshops and teacher trainings around the world. However, in 2012, controversy erupted when allegations of inappropriate conduct by Friend and other senior Anusara teachers were made. In response, Friend resigned from his position as leader of Anusara yoga and took a hiatus from teaching. He returned to teaching in 2016 with a new approach to yoga, which he calls "The Roots" or Bowspring emphasizing the importance of alignment and breath in a more grounded and non-dogmatic way. Today, Friend continues to teach and promote yoga, and has written several books on the practice, including "The Art of Anusara Yoga" and "The Roots." Despite the controversy surrounding his past, Friend remains a highly respected and influential figure in the world of yoga, and his contributions to the practice continue to be felt by students and teachers alike.

Welcome to Episode #27 of the Wild Yoga Tribe Podcast! This week, I welcome Pamela Harris onto the show. She is a yoga teacher and yoga studio owner from Barbados, Sunshine Kula Yoga Studio. My conversation with Pamela Harris, a yoga teacher from Barbados, was so lovely as she shared stories about what yoga was like in the 1960s and 70s in Barbados and how it has evolved over time. Hearing her stories about demonstrating yoga at a Hilton Hotel and how people were worried about getting swept up into a “hippie world,” provided such a unique snapshot into the past. Pamela and I also talked about Yoga Therapy and Anusara yoga and weaving the philosophy of yoga into every class, and taking it through the whole practice. Pamela is devoted to inner peace and personal development and committed to sharing a practice that is inclusive, accessible and for every level of oneself. If you're looking to tune into a podcast episode that is about energetic openings and connecting to the divine within yourself then this is the conversation for you. What to expect in the Yoga In Barbados episode of the Wild Yoga Tribe Podcast Pamela started learning yoga around the age 8 as her mother took her along to yoga classes. Yoga in the late 60s in Barbados was a magical place for Pamela, although apparently some ladies in Barbados of the late 60s and early 70s were worried about “going off into some hippie world” if they attended yoga classes. In fact, Pamela performed yoga demonstrations at the Hilton Hotel in Barbados in the 1960s— a story she unraveled for us on the show. Though Pamela didn't continue yoga through her teenage years, but came back to it around the age 25. She now is a studio owner in the Barbados, who teaches Anusara yoga and yoga therapy. Pamela finds the sacred within all, as she looks at yoga as an experience of journeying inwards. In regards to teaching yoga, Pamela prioritizes guiding others to delight in the experience of yoga and in life. Moreover, I loved how Pamela talked about yoga as honoring individuality and celebrating diversity, all while recognizing our oneness. Pamela and I also discussed the 5 principles of alignment of Anusara Yoga, as well as the scandal that happened with the founder of Anusara yoga, John Friend, and how she reacted and responded to that becoming public knowledge and how Anusara has shifted since then. Curious about yoga in Barbados and all the yoga happening there? Tune into the episode to find out more. For the skimmers - What's in the Barbados episode? What is Anusara Yoga? In this episode of the Spiritual Entrepreneur, we talk about “Opening to Grace”. This is a practice that I learned years back when I was training in Anusara Yoga which literally means “Flowing with Grace”. The first principle of Anusara was said to be Open(ing) to Grace and I just love that as a starting principle for any endeavor in life or business.  We talk about how to apply this principle to life and business. “Opening to Grace” means when you step into doing anything, any endeavor and your life and your business, the very first thing that you do is literally open up to that Divine essence that is behind and within everything and allow it to flow in. What you will learn in this episode: What is Opening to Grace Applying the Open to Grace principle in life What you can expect to experience when you start with this principle A sneak peek at the episode: [02:02] “What Open to Grace means is when you step into doing anything, any endeavor and your life and your business, the very first thing that you do is literally open up.” [03:22] “If there's an area maybe where you're feeling like, wow, this feels a little bit stuck or this area over here feels like I'm really trying to get this to happen or you just can't quite mentally figure it out…” [07:48] “In a way that my actions couldn't even force into existence right now when I Opened to Grace and I allow Grace to enter and I allow Grace to guide...” Happy Listening!   PS - Join us in our private listener community! When is the last time you focused on how you are breathing? Our breath is connected to life. Learn the importance of breath-- not just from a physiological standpoint-- but also on an emotional and spiritual level. In today's episode, Keleah Anderson is going to share with you all about breath, burnout, and going deeper with Jesus. Today’s Speaker- Keleah AndersonKeleah came to Yoga through two passions ~ cheerleading and gymnastics. The rhythm and movement of yoga was a beautiful extension of her two greatest childhood loves that had led her to a career in health & fitness. With an education background in physical therapy/anatomy and over 25 years of experience teaching and training, yoga quickly became another class she could offer her clients. It was not until her personal journey with depression found new depths of healing through her practice that yoga became something completely different. Keleah found movement that was sacred, union that was restful and postures that were powerful. She found home - a place of Being, not doing! A lifetime of cheering included a collegiate cheer career at The University of Tennessee, Knoxville from 1991-1994. Keleah began her yoga practice in 1999 and took her first teacher training in November of 2001. She followed that with a 200-hour training in Ashtanga in 2004. She spent 2 years in Austin, Texas studying Ashtanga, Vinyasa and Anusara Yoga extensively. In addition, in 2011 she completed Holy Yoga training. In May of 2016, Keleah opened Abundant Yoga Studio. Founded on following the Holy Spirit (goose-symbol) and circling in prayer (the circle) this unique yoga system honors God first and offers a biblically-based practice. Keleah’s passion today is to help develop and inspire yoga teachers to offer something Abundantly beyond a physical yoga practice – to facilitate worship through message and movement. After 20 years guiding students on the mat in the group setting, today Keleah sees her calling to the mission of Abundant Yoga as one of God’s greatest gifts. Keleah resides in Franklin, Tennessee with her husband of 24 years, 3 children and their dog, Rosie. When not on her yoga mat, her favorite place to be is on the lake or the beach in the sunshine with her family.Website: https://www.abundantyoga.comYou’ll LearnHow to practice breathing and decrease anxietyHow to find balance in your lifeThe importance of self-care in avoiding burnout It Starts With Attraction Ep. 019: The Importance of Breath with Keleah Anderson

Today, I will introduce to you another great guest. You will hear from Paulette Bodeman, who is a great, well known Yoga teacher and a coach.   Paulette is teaching Anusara style, which is one of the modern schools of Yoga. I believe it was created by the American teacher of Iyengar Yoga style in 1997. That answers my question why I have not heard about it. I was introduced to Yoga in 1983. So at the same time when Anusara was becoming popular, I already pretty much found my style, and by the year 2000, I had reduced my Yoga practice to some basic asanas in favor of Martial Art, Qigong and couple of other Taoist practices.     But I still love Yoga, and I think of it as one of the greatest systems that have ever existed on the Earth. I love to learn new things, and I was blessed to meet people like Paulette.

Is yoga religious? This question has not only been asked recently by the broader public but also posed in the courts. Many argue that of course it is. The story of yoga in the popular imagination is often narrated as an ancient wisdom tradition that informs contemporary postural movements which are intricately connected and indivisible. Others contend that  contemporary yoga is simply a set of health practices that have nothing to do with religion. In Selling Yoga: From Counterculture to Pop Culture (Oxford University Press, 2014), Andrea Jain, Assistant Professor of Religious Studies at Indiana University – Purdue University Indianapolis, helps us navigate the recent history of yoga in the west and the debates surrounding its ‘religious’ nature. Overall, what we find is that while yoga has been mediate through an emerging global consumer market and branded for strategic purposes it can still be seen to serve the function of a body of religious practice for many practitioners. In our conversation we discussed Hindu, Buddhist, Jain variations of yogic practice, Ida Craddock’s Church of Yoga, legal definitions, Iyengar Yoga, Siddha Yoga, and Anusara Yoga, Theosophists and Transcendentalists, Swami Vivikenanda’s Vedanta Society, counterculture yogis, consumer culture and the mass market, Christian Yogaphobia, the Hindu American Foundation, and the politics of yoga. As a child,  she loved all types of physical activities and would push herself as hard as she could; however she left athletics behind when she went to college and studied theater. After getting her undergraduate degree, she was accepted to the National Theater Conservatory in Denver, and spent 3 years there, where she began to live an empowered life. It was there that Elsie started to find her real voice. She also found strength in her body again, as she was introduced to yoga. It helped to both soften and center her while providing her with the tools that she needed to focus. After graduating from the National Theater Conservatory, Eslie pursued a career as a Hollywood actress, for a while before making her way back to Yoga. Her first ‘teacher’ Naime Jezzeny, introduced her to Anusara Yoga, which is the yoga that she continues to study and teach today. This is NOT a yoga class. This is episode 1 of a new facet of the podcast. More yoga classes comig up next week! Hello and welcome to the First episode of Elsie's Yoga Kula, where we share, cultivate relationship and deepen our yoga by entering the community of the heart, which is both your own heart, AND it's the heart manifesting as the company we keep. I've been talking a lot about getting new facet of the podcast up. And it's finally here! Some of you guys may have been listening for a while so you may be a bit more aware of my story, but some of you may just have started to listen so I'll just do a quick recap. I lived in Los Angeles and taught in yoga in Los Angeles until October 2007. While I was there I was blessed to have lots of fabulous classes and an incredible community of both students and teachers that I could delve into and cultivate. The LA yoga community is thriving and abundant. Now I live in Pittsburgh. I transported to the Burgh for LOVE. I'm very happy being here. I have the best family ever ever ever! with my soon to be husband and my 9 month old little daughter Hunter. The only thing that I'm lacking (other than Jamba Juice...but I digress) is the yoga community. Having started teaching again after my baby was born and being able to once again post my classes has given me a connection to you all, and I cannot tell you how much it means to me. The power of this medium and our ability to share together this incredible practice is one of the greatest blessings in my life, so I decided to share a little bit more! I want you guys, all of you that are part of this podcast and practice together, to get to know each other a little bit, plus it also gives me the opportunity to share a little bit more about other yoga related things :) You guys up for it? So to begin, here we go with our first voice mail, It's Nikki from DeMoines! Please listen to the Podcast to hear the Voice Mail :) You are so welcome! You know, I have to do another one of those deep savasana (Episode 61: Chill the Body Out, A 13 Minute Full Body Relaxation) and yoga nidra episodes (Episode 62: Yoga Nidra Yourself Out, a 65 Minute Deep Meditative Relaxation). Personally .... I LOVE those!!! I used to practice yoga nidra a lot more than I have an opportunity to now. One of these days I'm sure I'll be able to again...oh the Mommy life :) Thanks for the call! I'm a very big RSS lover. RSS is sorta like using a DVR to record the shows that you wanna watch. RSS stands for Real Simple Syndication, which means that you can syndicate or publish material 'simply'. Most websites now days, have a feed associated with them. If you subscribe to the feed, then whenever new content is published to that feed you receive it automatically. This brings me back to the DVR metaphor, so you can read, listen or watch that content whenever you want. The way that you are subscribing to this podcast is via it's RSS feed. When you are in iTunes (for the majority of you subscribe via iTunes) and you subscribe to any podcast, you are subscribing via RSS feed. Sorry for the long winded explanation, just doing it for those of you that may wanna clarify a bit :) In order to receive the content you need to have some sort of RSS reader, such as iTunes. iTunes deals primarily with audio and video feeds. My personal favorite RSS reader that deals with audio, video, but mainly text feeds is Google Reader. I subscribe to A LOT of feeds and love reading them on my cell phone. Google Reader has a really easy and simple mobile site that I check countless times a day. The reason for this huge discussion is that I'm going to share with you guys, blogs, posts, videos, etc. that I find inspiring from Google Reader! So, here we go! I'm not sure how I found this blog, but I'm loving every post. It's called Rose Garden Yoga by a yoga teacher named Elizabeth Goodman AND she's a certified Anusara Yoga teacher! I'm thrilled every time I see a new post. I'm inspired by her eloquence and her love of the garden. It is soooooo worth your time. Great insight into the yoga of every day :) Another blog that I'm diggin' is the Everything Yoga Blog at itsallaboutyoga.com. I enjoy this persons posts very much. I always end up with some new information, whether it be about a specific point of view, some sort of new product or website, whatever. I believe that I enjoy reading the posts so much because the author's voice is so natural and absolutely down to earth. Check those 2 blogs out, AND use Google Reader! You can read so many more blogs in one place! Kinda like having your own special magazine :) Here's a nifty little product that I LOVED! Found out about it via the Everything Yoga Blog I just mentioned. Ok, I'm sure y'all have come across SIGG water bottles, those really cool bottles from sweden? Well you can totally MAKE YOUR OWN PERSONALIZED ONES!!!!! O M G. I have 2 already, and I LOVE THEM! So if you go to http://www.cafepress.com/designer/sigg/ You can see how to do it! It really is the coolest thing ever, plus if you don't know about Cafe Press you'll get a chance to check out that site! It's a GREAT resource for creating your own stuff. And now for our next voice mail: Mary from Houston Dude, Mary, totally humbled. Thank you! You are way too sweet. I'm soooo glad that the podcasts are able to serve you, honestly. I'm very glad. I absolutely know how you feel. Totally get it, AND I'm working hard at this whole Mommy thing, doing my best at that and all the other stuff. I think at times the will to do it all comes from a desire to connect and to serve fully. Thanks again And now for our first email of the episode from Nora in North Carolina This is all about Prenatal Yoga!!! You can hear the email conversation and what I have to say if you listen to the episode Empowering your Prenatal Yoga Practice: Advise from Yogi Mama to New Yogi Mama Speaking of prenatal yoga, Sue Elkind is doing a prenatal yoga teacher training in Athens Greece!!!!! Sept 7-11 Athens, Greece Prenatal Teacher Training www.NYSYstudios.com Check it out at www.sueelkind.com If you decide to do this...please email sue and tell her that you heard it from me! snyoga (at) mac (dot) com Another email: Lina from Malasyia!!! how exciting is that???? Thank you so much Lina! Now I'm not going to answer this question here, I've (actually we, my dear friend Hillary Rubin and I) Have just answered this question and lots of other neat little teacher type discussion topics over at Mudra Moments. You can subscribe via RSS in iTunes or listen straight from the website at Mudramoments.com! I've already let Lina know that we addressed her question in Mudra Moments Episode 13, but I thought some of you guys may be interested in still hearing the question! One of the reasons that I'm doing this also is so that I can share with you the listeners stuff that you care about and would like to share yourself. I got an email from someone that I got to know in LA, although they lived in Las Vegas: Yoga Rants and Raves (http://www.yogarantsandraves.com) and they are on twitter! http://twitter.com/yogasanctuary) plus, this is their WEBSITE: http://www.lasvegasyoga.com And our last voice email of the day, Anne NC thank you sweetie, I think Hunter is FAMOUS!!! I still have a lot more of your emails, comments and phone calls to share! I contacted some of you to see if I could use your email, please know that I will, it's just that I didn't want to make this a REALLY long show...just enough to make it fun. If you want to be on the show, or share something about yourself or something you are doing that you would like me to check out and share with the Kula, send me an email eyogaclass@gmail.com, comment at elsiesyogakula.com or CALL ME!!!!!!!!! it's soooooo easy to do it, and how fun is it to hear yourself on the show!!!!! woo hoooo 310 651 6238 :) or you can record your own MP3 and send it to me! Please let me know if you enjoyed this. It's really another way that I can deepen our relationship and allow us all to get to know each other better! Hope to hear from you! Oh yea...one last thing :) The 3rd year anniversary of this podcast is coming up at the end of July. I hope to put up a special episode, plus some fun giveaways, so if you wanna be part of that episode, send me a voice mail sharing with me a special time that you practiced with it, or something along those lines so I can put it on the show! Much love and blessings

The Path of the Yogi Within Social Networks I’ve been on Twitter since the Spring of 2007, way before it became so CRAZY mainstream. When I first got on Twitter, there were only a handful of people that I had actually met face to face. In fact, the people on twitter that I interacted with were basically all from the podcasting/new media community and 90% of them where out of state or out of the country. There was not one person from my yoga community. That has now all changed. I would say in 2009 the yoga community on Twitter has skyrocketed. I’m in awe of the amazing amount of tweets about yoga, from yoga practitioners, teachers and studios. It’s yoga yoga yoga all the time now! I love it because now I can literally feel my yoga kula around me here in Pittsburgh because many of my Anusara yoga friends in LA and from other parts of the country are now on Twitter, including John Friend (the founder of Anusara Yoga)! Needless to say, that’s some serious growth! In the past 2.5 yrs that I’ve been on Twitter, I have not ONCE had a negative experience with anyone I followed or followed me. In fact I’ve developed some pretty special friendships with some folks on Twitter that I would have never come in contact with otherwise. I’m a bit saddened to say that I’ve had my first ‘negative’ experience on Twitter, and it was with a fellow yogi. This episode’s artwork is a snapshot of the initial dialogue. I think all of us have every right to have our own preferences and opinions about yoga and about what yoga system or philosophy we align with. In fact that goes for your spiritual and religious life. One of my fellow Anusara teachers referred to yoga philosophy as ‘resonant energy’. resonance |ˈrezənəns| noun the quality in a sound of being deep, full, and reverberating : the resonance of his voice. • figurative the ability to evoke or suggest images, memories, and emotions : the concepts lose their emotional resonance. • Physics the reinforcement or prolongation of sound by reflection from a surface or by the synchronous vibration of a neighboring object. • Mechanics the condition in which an object or system is subjected to an oscillating force having a frequency close to its own natural frequency. • Physics the condition in which an electric circuit or device produces the largest possible response to an applied oscillating signal, esp. when its inductive and its capacitative reactances are balanced. • Physics a short-lived subatomic particle that is an excited state of a more stable particle. • Astronomy the occurrence of a simple ratio between the periods of revolution of two bodies about a single primary. • Chemistry the state attributed to certain molecules of having a structure that cannot adequately be represented by a single structural formula but is a composite of two or more structures of higher energy. ORIGIN late Middle English : from Old French, from Latin resonantia ‘echo,’ from resonare ‘resound’ (see resonant ). Which Yoga Philosophy Is Right? Which Yoga Philosophy is the Best? If a philosophy resonates with you, you will be more harmonious, more sensitive, more open both with yourself and with others around you. You will in fact be able to add more beauty, goodness, auspiciousness to the world through your thoughts, actions and unique presence. You will embed the philosophy so deeply inside of yourself that you will be able to serve those around you and yourself in ever deepening and refined ways. If whatever you choose opens you to recognize the blessing of your life, your wisdom, your auspiciousness, and in turn shows you that you are part of something much Greater, and of the Intrinsic Goodness of life, than you are in optimal alignment. It’s not about which yoga is the best: Ashtanga, Iyengar, Power, Viniyoga, etc, nor what philosophy, Tantra, Advaita Vedanta, Classical, etc. but how do your actions, your thoughts, your words offer the most auspicious part of yourself AT EVERY MOMENT. How do you feel in your own authentic heart, and how well are you able to serve and uplift those around you? If you lock your fulfillment into how other people receive it you will never be fulfilled. We always have a choice. If we do disagree with a particular style of yoga’s philosophy, or teacher, or practice, in what way are you going to communicate that with those around you so that you show through your actions, interactions and WORDS the highest integrity, always aligning to the Highest most Auspicious part of ourselves? Bottom line, do the actions you take make you a better person. Are you being authentic? It’s not easy, especially when confronted by someone that happens to get under your skin Be very mindful of what you put out into the world, especially when it is written down and sent out into the world. It holds power, and it speaks loudly. Love the Feedback! email me- eyogaclass (at) gmail (dot) com leave me a message- 310 651 6238 (I’d love to play you guys on the episodes! Plus you can promote your stuff that way!) or comment on this blog! This week’s class is a grounding Level 1-2 Yoga Class. The class can be modified to be more basic or more advanced by choosing to do the full poses instead of the modification. You are more than welcome to use as many yoga props as necessary to offer you the optimal alignment of your poses. Have your props near you so you can grab them as needed.

Yes, with grace I have made it to my 35th birthday and podcast and bring you the offering of this special episode which is approximately a 35 minute meditation. To signify my 35th birthday we begin with three om's and end with five. Many days of contemplation on what I was going to share and the usual 35 sun salutations came to mind but then after connecting to my commitment to a three week breakthrough meditation practice (this is in the back of Sally's Book) it made sense to share this with you. If you are new to meditation take a whirl and know there is no right or wrong enjoy your experience even if you just sit there and nothing seems to happen, be patient it will offer amazing fruits without your even being aware of them at first. There are many ways to meditate and I first began using the style of the Self Realization Fellowship but then met my current teacher, Sally Kempton while in teacher training in 2002. At first when I met her I was practicing SRF technique thinking this was the only way and did not even listen to her. At the time I was not open to something new and in some way was rigid but after some time I sat with her again and totally let go and went with her guidance and am happy I did. Today I follow her technique which are beautifully explained in her book The Heart of Meditation . This episode is dedicated to Sally as she opened me to the possibility of play within my practice of meditation. After sitting nearby one of my sweet teachers Naime Jezzeny (he helped me to see both my potential and the possibilities to be the person I am today) last weekend in his workshop which focused on the Upanishads (means to sit nearby) I was inspired to share with you these teachings inspired from our teacher Dr. Douglas Brooks . When we sit among others and share, listen and realize we all have amazing potential that is in nature. Amidst this diversity you may find a moment of feeling connected to the source (potential) and through this awareness you may discover a new way to express yourself (possibilities). I know now that I always had the potential within myself to be a yoga teacher but until it was time for me to find teachers who would show me that it was possible then I was able to connect to my own heart and could actually believe it for myself - this was huge for my growth as a person and only 5 years ago. My love for yoga took me to go deeper into Philosophy and realize that I can study seeing that I was intelligent and it was possible to enjoy learning - thanks to Douglas for his teachings open me to more possibilities than I could ever imagine within myself. We all can relate when we find gifts that are within that come out on the mat, in conversation, at work or in relationships. Tap into your potential that you were born with and see what your possibilities are and if you look to those who believe in you then let them show you the possibility of becoming more of who you are. Just Breathe... Simple huh? We do it unconsciously more than consciously and even if we forget to breathe it happens as long as we are alive. If you hold your breath you will pass out then She (the goddess) will breathe you. Once I understood how the rhythm of my breath moved within my body my practice deepened & expanded. I became more connected and in touch with how I felt, connected to others and most importantly my body finding ease. Breathing is simple yet complex at times but always there to guide us when we focus our awareness on its flow. note: you may hear more of my breath with a new mic - thank you Gayle In this episode I mention a Tantric way of looking at the breath in the form of the goddess/universe and you are co-participating with her as you inhale and exhale. WOW - is right that was my response until I went deeper and actually found comfort in the thought and reality of it. I must thank my sweet teacher who poetically taught me this beautiful teaching of breath. (Douglas Brooks is my teacher of Rajanka Tantra) Soon he will have a book out titled Rajanaka Heart. Greetings Yogi's and Yogini's I have decided to have mini-interviews with students of yoga as a conversation about the practice of yoga in their life. We all participate in a conversation with the divine but are we listening and benefiting from its grace?  I begin this with some simple questions but there is a moment that takes us deeper like any good conversation. In this episode I interview my student Gio who I have been working with a little over a year before and after him being hit by 2 cars. He was hit  by two cars that ran over a year ago and is walking and doing yoga -  Amazing!!! He is even handstands and backbends. We have been working together using Yoga Therapy as a way to heal his body which he talks about.  The style of yoga I teach is Anusara Yoga which is a therapeutic yet energetic yoga that has a strong focus on the heart. Yoga therapy uses postures with alignment that allows the body to come back into its optimal blueprint which we all have. If you are interested in being interviewed pls contact me and if there are any questions about yoga therapy or would like me to ask a question that you would find beneficial pls let me know.
