The Elite Coaches Series Presents: R. Layla Salek, PhD today's episode we dive deep into the complexities of the human experience. My special gusest is Dr. R. Layla Salek, PhD, a renowned psychologist and expert in forgiveness. The main topic in todays episode is forgiveness truly necessary for healing? Forgiveness is often hailed as a key to moving forward after hurt, but is it always the answer? Does it truly bring peace, or is it more about personal growth and emotional release? Dr. Salek brings her extensive knowledge to explore the science behind forgiveness, its potential benefits, and the deeper psychological truths that can help us heal—whether or not we choose to forgive. Stay tuned for a thought-provoking conversation that could change the way you view healing. R. Layla Salek, PhD, is retired from a twenty-year private practice. She trained professionals and parents in behavior psychology techniques to help children with behavioral disorders. She sits on multiple boards and is the founder of Susie Bean Gives (www.susiebean.org).  She just released her first book, Chaos in Color, the captivating story of Layla's journey from childhood to adulthood with a mother who suffered from untreated bipolar disorder. Each chapter paints a vivid, heartbreaking picture of the abuse, neglect, and trauma that she experienced as she grew up at the mercy of her mother's bipolar swings, an incompetent mental health system, and the strangers with whom she was often left She is also a travel photographer and writer and is working on her second book, Dear Caregiver. About Chaos in Color: From a young age, Layla Salek has experienced some people as colors—her mother brown, her father green, her husband rainbow. As she notes, sometimes, when words fail, colors speak. Chaos in Color is the captivating story of Layla's journey from childhood to adulthood with a mother who suffered from untreated bipolar disorder. Each chapter paints a vivid, heartbreaking picture of the abuse, neglect, and trauma that she experienced as she grew up at the mercy of her mother's bipolar swings, an incompetent mental health system, and the strangers with whom she was often left. But dissipating those times of darkness were moments of love, joy, and happiness that she felt while being cared for by others in her life. These moments inspired her to start her own family, complete a doctorate in psychology, and work with children with mental illness and severe behavior disorders. Layla's story traces how personal and familial trauma is carried into adulthood and how it can be released through forgiveness. This honest, provocative memoir offers a relatable account for others who have experienced similar trauma, as well as hope for healing and a future full of light. Ever wondered why you feel so drained after helping someone? Tired of riding those waves of emotion and energy constantly hitting you? In this episode I will go over some helpful tips for Empath. I also talk about my own issues I used to face leaving me feeling empty. Empaths often feel empty inside because they absorb others' emotions and energies so intensely. This heightened sensitivity lets them deeply understand and connect with people, but it can also lead to emotional overload and burnout. Prioritizing others' needs above their own often means empaths neglect self-care, leaving them feeling drained and disconnected from their own emotions. The boundary between their own feelings and those of others can blur, causing confusion and internal conflict. This constant emotional barrage makes it hard for empaths to find time and space to process their own experiences and emotions. Without strong personal boundaries, they can end up in a chronic state of overstimulation and stress. Tune into this episode!

*****Please Subscribe!****** It helps me tremendously! https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/oncallempath/subscribe These days, it seems like everyone has an opinion. In this episode, I discuss the importance of putting your work first and refusing to listen to other people. Dealing with our prior traumas causes us enough stress and anxiety. Just remember that nothing will matter in the future and that everything is temporary. Simply maintain your focus, one day at a time. You cut them off and move on if they don't agree with you. The real change begins when you stop caring what other people think. We are powerful beings, each having the potential to leave our mark on this world. Most of the time, people around us don't notice it either! truth is that most of us don't want to face it, but in 100 years, none of us will matter. This episode is meant to serve as a wake-up call rather than to frighten you. Make what you do matter, and do it with grace. Love harder to those that matter. Don't put off achieving your life's goals; take action while you're still healthy and able to do it. This is merely to remind you that there is still time to leave your mark and make this planet a better place—many people will wake up and take action now! While others will continue to be stuck in the same place.
