Sometimes Pokémon is the thing that brings us into the room. The people we meet there are what make us stay.SaiyaRan shares a Pokémon story rooted in family, creativity, and his belief in putting community over keyboards. From learning to read through Pokémon Yellow and bonding with his older brother, to saving his own money for Pokémon Diamond and eventually discovering his love for Electivire, gaming has followed him through every stage of his life. That passion eventually grew into content creation, taking him to conventions, Pokémon Worlds, competitive challenges, and community events where a simple piece of cardboard could remind someone that what they love matters.SaiyaRan also opens up about becoming a father, balancing creativity with everyday responsibilities, overcoming perfectionism, and learning that making meaningful work doesn't always mean making perfect work. Because whether it's Pokémon cards, video games, or a shared battle, sometimes the hobby is only the beginning. The real story is the gaming community we build around it.Listen now and discover how Pokémon nostalgia can evolve into something much bigger than the game itself.SourcesOpening Song: "Forget You" by Alex_MakeMusic from Pixabay Send us Fan MailSupport the showVisit our website: www.asthepokeballturns.comJoin Our Discord Community!https://discord.gg/AqAbD7FbRtMailing AddressP.O Box 117Addison, TX, 75001Your next Pokemon adventure begins here!Disclaimer: This podcast is in no way affiliated with or endorsed by The Pokémon Company International.

Would you ever lie to give yourself more time in a destination? In the aviation world, we've had plenty of crew who will go sick downroute so they don't have to work home - they get the name One Sector Sally (a cabin crew member who gets the reputation of only working one sector). I guess a flight attendant might do that for myriad reasons. They hate their job, they have stuff going on at home, or maybe they meet the most amazing guy at their destination and don't want that magic to end? That's exactly what happened to the donor of our latest story. She met an incredible man in Cape Town, and had to make a choice about leaving him or leaving her crew a man down!Listen to this true story, told in the style of a fabulous beach read audiobook, on The Red Eye podcast. For years, I've helped other Trainers tell their stories. This time, I'm telling mine. I step out from behind the mic to share my Pokémon story. Not as a highlight reel, but as a timeline of survival, wonder, and healing. From finding refuge in Pokémon Red and Blue during a lonely childhood, to learning friendship, curiosity, and identity through each generation, Pokémon became the place I could breathe when real life felt too heavy. Later, Pokémon GO pulled me back into the world into movement, community, leadership, and eventually the podcast itself. I also open up about grief, mental health, burnout, and what it meant to choose “one more time” when I didn't want to.This is about nostalgia, mental health, and healing through games and why stories deserve a place to live.SourcesOpening Song: "Forget You" by Alex_MakeMusic from Pixabay Send us a textSupport the show Visit our website: www.asthepokeballturns.com Join Our Discord Community!https://discord.gg/AqAbD7FbRt Your next Pokemon adventure begins here!

Years later, that same charge pulled him back into the Pokémon GO community, where raid hours turned into real friendships and golden-hour memories at Klyde Warren Park.LaserGator traces his Pokémon story from SoulSilver car rides and Bianca's courage to say “I'm choosing my own path,” to losing a day-one GO account and starting over, only to find his Pokemon GO community led by Community Ambassador, Starfire. Meet my friend Ross Pino who's main focus is to conceptualize the awakening process. Who's juxtaposition allows you to see the story of life and death, good and evil, and the duality within the world. He also wants to set people free from negative mindsets and destructive thought patterns, and support their fullest elevated versions of themselves.  With only six years of art experience he had a gravitational pull as he said “ something inside was manifesting and pulling me to draw and create” we laughed and he said “ my guides were apart of this magical journey. Along with his inspiration from his daughter who was three  at the time and began doodling hearts on his skulls. He embraced her liberating freedom and he began to emulate that mind set into his pieces of artwork, combining the light and dark, and duality of life experiences.   Today, Ross has recently opened his art gallery in NYC showcasing a collection of pieces that define his authentic disposition and colorful juxtaposition  talent on canvas. Moving forward, he is aspiring to paint murals with his buddy Jason Naylor,  who is definitely a close colleague and alter ego partner that they sometimes seem to be the same person, with similar interests and passions. Many of these mural collaborations can be seen globally and domestically. The next collab will be Your Not Alone Murals @youarenotalonemurals  supporting mental conversations about mental health, posting of this event will be shared in his stories.  Thank you Ross for sharing the moments on the podcast.
